Foreign Affairs / Re: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by ComaBerenices(f): 12:52am On May 22, 2013
blitz8701: White people played a huge role in developing africa as a whole. We all know that, even nigeria wouldn't be anywhere without white people, we wouldn't be having this conversation on niraland if it wasn't for white people. They have invented a lot of things that we as africans and the rest of the world use currently, even the clothes on our backs is thanks to white people, the english we're able to speak and insult each other here with questions like "where would SA be without whites is thanks to westerners. Yes white people build SA at the backs of black people. But whites taught us how to survive in the modern world and we have used that knowledge to build a better and more improved SA. The white mans development stopped and ceased after 1994. In fact a huge number of them left and a lot of western countries thought the country would go to the dogs, but look at us today, we are stronger than ever.

I've said this before and I will say it again "this thread is stupid, and it has been created by people with envy and jealousy of the progress that has been made by SAs. Was UCT the best university in africa before 1994? NO! Was OR Tambo the best airport in africa before 1994? NO! Did the apartheid government host the first world cup in africa? NO!. White people came to nigeria and left 50 years ago, nigeria has been free for over 50 years, so tell me what do u have to show for it? Keep envying our success and I promise u that u will go no-where. U have a 30year head start before SA gained her freedom. We were freed 30 after u and yet we are 50 years ahead of u,I wonder how that works? Ohw I know tribalizm. The real question that I would start pondering and posting it online afterwards if I were u is "where would nigeria be without tribalism?" Always remember my dear friend "TOGETHER WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL". And ohw all4naija "white-mans lap dog" this is adressed to u.

Didn't realise there were so many of these threads here.

But my father's people are jealous of everyone. It's not just South Africa. It's also Ghana. If it's not Ghana, it's us, Black America. If its not Black America, it's the Igboz if it's not the Igbo, it's the Yoruba. If it's not the Yoruba, it's the Muslims. If it's not the Muslims, it's the christians.

Tell-tale signs of failure and dispair. When you can't take care of your business, you spend time in other people's business. So many decades of failure, the people are starting to think it's because of the color of their skin. When did Nigerians become such a "small" people?

Romance / Re: "I Slept With My Boss To Give My Boyfriend A Job" by ComaBerenices(f): 4:15am On May 21, 2013
Sure, what you did, sister, was not very smart and I doubt you'd be able to repair the trust that's been broken between you and your man. Men pride themselves on the ability to loo k after the women they love. Your man had to deal with not being able to look after you. You looked after him. This must have killed his pride. And then to make matters worse, you slept with another man to help him do something he was failing to do as a man - look after you. It was a double whammy for him; and probably far too much to take.

Anyway, labor laws usually do not allow bossed to do what yours did. You consented, yes. But he was in a position of power, which he abused. Usually, this is a dismissable offence. What I suggest is that you highlight this to him (your boss); and tell him that his advances are no longer welcome. Tell him that if he continues, it will be harassment. And sexual harassment is a dismissable offence. Depending on your work situation, send emails, so that he knows that you have a written record of the conversation. I do not know what the situation is in Nigeria's system, so check your labor laws first - before you implement this advice. It does not matter that you've slept with him before. It becomes harassment as soon as you tell him you want it to stop; and he continues. So, tell him to stop - in writing.

Then once that is done, you really need to go for counselling. You need to do this bfore you even think of approaching your boyfriend. When you do approach him eventually, realise that anything can happen. He could turn you down, as he probably views you with animosity now. You took his pride and hurt him so badly that he left town. You need to reconcile yourself with - and if he pushes you away, move on and take this as a lesson learnt. If he listens to you, you both need to go for counselling together, because if you do not - your relationship will never be the same; and it will die a slow, painful death.

Been having serious headaches and feverish feeling for some days now and i cant just allow myself to see a doctor for the fear of pregnancy test, my dad would kill me if its real, please how can i confirm if i am pregnant without seeing a doctor? Then lastly, is it possible for someone to get pregnant even when the guy used a condom?

Uyi Iredia:

No, that isn't logic its a fallacy. One of omission. The factors to consider in the 2 countries are different (location, size, population, natural resources etc). Hence one thing could develop a country and another for another country.

Oh, but that's what everyone's arguing. Even the post quoted below confirms it.

Chima_Adeoye:

So white settlement is synonymous to development? Hmm, no wonder the present South Africa is retrogressing for killing off its white population and Nigeria is progressing for giving succor and home to those hapless SA whites.

Only, people are avoiding taking the argument to its logical conclusion - for obvious reasons. Once you take the argument to its logical conclusion, it becomes a bad reflection on black people in general.

In terms of what everyone is saying, failure is explained by the absence of white people; and success is explained by the presence of white people. Strange argument in an African forum.

Anyway, there's one important thing that you don't mention - the quality of leadership. Anyone who wants to take responsibility for their situation will mention this. Otherwise, people will list all sorts of things that are outside their control, in an attempt to explain their short-comings away.

Only a poor workman blames his tools (i.e. location, size, population, natural resources etc).
