A Nigerian lady identified as Anuoluwapo Iyanuoluwa Adeyemi, has been arrested for not returning a stolen iPhone despite receiving a N50k reward from the victim.

According to the victim, the lady first asked for N100K, and was sent N50K after negotiation, but still held on the phone despite pleas.

It has been reported that a fresh graduate of History and International Studies from the University of Calabar in Cross River state who was killed in a motor accident on the 28th of January, 2019, has been laid to rest.

The young lady identified as Mary Owan, died in the fatal accident just a few days to her wedding, which was slated for the 2nd of February.

Mary was buried on the same day she was supposed to have gotten married.

The accident which took her life occurred in Edor, Ikom local government area of Cross River State. She was said to be on her way to her hometown for the traditional wedding rites.

Late Owan was a niece to University of Calabar Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zana Akpagu.

A 50-year-old vulcanizer identified as Atekha Iyare, has been arrested for killing the father of his lover for demanding the sum of N3m as compensation after succeeded in sleeping with his daughter.


Iyare allegedly killed Matthew Idahosa, a 50-year-old palm wine seller, in Oza, Edo State. Idahosa was said to have been bitter that Iyare slept with his daughter.


The suspect said he was shocked that the girl’s father said he would not marry even if he paid the N3m. He said the girl is a student and that both of them were lovers.


The suspect said he fled from the village when late Matthew was using policemen to harass him after the love affair bubble burst. According to him, “I thought the father had forgiven me because I ate rice in their house on Christmas Day. .

The father brought policemen and the matter was being settled. I ran to the bush when the man threatened to kill me if I did not pay the money. They told him to give me his daughter if I paid the money but he said no.


When hunger was too much, I came out and decided to face the consequences. The man saw me while going to the farm and we started fighting. He held a cutlass while I held a wood.


When I managed to get the cutlass from him, I cut him on the face and ran away with his motorcycle to avoid arrest. I was arrested by vigilante in Afuze

A 22-year-old cattle herder identified as Ibrahim Umaru, has in a new report, revealed how he escaped from prison in Delta State.

According to the report by Newtelegraph, Umaru escaped from prison in 2018 and fled to Zamfara State, where he joined a gang of bandits who specialized in cattle rustling and razing down communities.

After embarking on several operations, Umaru was again rearrested after he led members of his gang to rob a filling station in Asaba, Delta State and an AK-47 rifle was recovered from him.

A police source said,

“Umaru was first arrested in 2014 when policemen on patrol accosted him after he took some cows for grazing. The policemen searched and found a gun on him.

He was taken to court, where he was charged for illegal possession of firearm. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but later escaped and fled to his home town and later joined a cattle rustling syndicate.

This gang has killed several people in Zamfara State. The gang was headed by Buhari Daji, who is now late.

Umaru took part in several robberies, cattle rustling and kidnapping activities in Zamfara State before returning to Asaba Delta State with an AK-47 rifle which he started using to terrorise residents and business owners in Asaba Delta State.”

After his arrest, Umaru said,

“I escaped on one of the days I was taken out of the prison to cut grasses outside prison premises. I wasn’t wearing my prison vest, so I seized the opportunity to escape.

The hoodlums set ablaze over 15,000 uncollected PVCs as well as the register containing all the names of registered voters in the area.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Joseph Iloh, confirmed the development to newsmen on Sunday. According to him, the arsonists broke into the INEC’s office through the window.

He however said that although the PVCs and the register were burnt, that the commission’s headquarters in Umuahia, the state capital, has the authentic list of registered voters.

Mercedes-Benz has announced that its newest, smallest car, the 2019 A-class sedan, will start at $33,495 (#12,173,087) when it goes on sale in early 2019. That makes it the least expensive car that Mercedes sells, undercutting the current CLA by $600. The low cost of entry should help bring even more new customers to the brand; the company says more than 50 percent of CLA buyers were new to the Mercedes-Benz brand.



Despite the price, the A-class sedan has a long list of standard equipment. A panoramic sunroof, LED head- and taillights, automated emergency braking, and dual 7.0-inch screens (one in place of the gauge cluster and one for the infotainment) are all standard. Options will include features like adaptive cruise control, augmented-reality navigation, and AMG Line body styling. Adding all-wheel drive costs $2000, meaning the 2019 A220 4Matic’s price is $35,495.

So far, Mercedes has only announced the base prices, but a spokesperson said that a configurator with detailed option pricing will go live on the Benz website later this week. We’ll update this story when more information is available.

Nigerian man arrested in Australia over $400k scam

Kelechi Cosmos Emeh, a 32-year-old Nigerian man living in Queensland, Australia, has been charged after allegedly posing as a U.S soldier and forming a romantic relationship with a woman who sent him $370,000.


Kelechi appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday where it was revealed he had also been accused of trying to get the victim to send him a further $170,000 before officers swooped and arrested him at his Durack home on Thursday.


The suspect, who is in the country on a student visa, allegedly received the money over the course of three months from the 34-year-old Brisbane woman, who later contacted police and sparked the investigation.


According to his defence lawyer, the accused has been in Australia for two years. He had rented a Durack home with his partner, a permanent citizen, since entering the country.


The woman became involved with him on a social media platform in October 2018, while he was claiming to be a US soldier in Syria.


Prior to his court appearance, police issued a public warning after uncovering a “disturbing element” within the alleged scam. They claimed Kelechi- acting as an agent for the soldier he was allegedly impersonating – travelled to the victim’s home to collect another $105,000.

EFCC has arrested three suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation.


The suspects: Adugwe Rex Odinaka (aka Alhaji Ugly Rex), Igwe Prince Chukwuebuka (aka Trad Marley) and Ifeanyi Nicholas Chukwulenwa, were arrested in Omoku, Rivers State.


Preliminary investigations showed that Chukwuebuka and Chukwulenwa were into romance and dating scams and had successfully defrauded three Americans in the process.


Odinaka, on his part, engaged in laundering of fraudulently obtained gift cards. The suspects are operating in a syndicate.


Other members of the syndicate are being tracked and funds fraudulently realized from the scam are also being tracked.
