this is the message you're talking about:

I haven't forgotten. And also I haven't gone into this packaging issue for men because the miseducations so far have been about a mental reset. That mindset work that lays the groundwork for future levelups.

I haven't forgotten bro.

I see. Okay Chief.

Some don't know their weaknesses whilst a few do know. You are part of the few and the first step in solving a problem is identifying that problem. Now that you've identified yours, all you need to do is be honest with yourself. You have to start be hardworking and smart working at the same time as no food for the lazy man. As per the discipline aspect, read books that will help you.

Thanks Omar. Quite frankly I read books on discipline, self development etc. I'm a little bit disciplined, but not to the extent of effecting the change in lifestyle that I want. This is where the concept of mediocrity and being average comes in.

Seems there's no hard and fast rule, I just have to keep working on myself.

Frankly the average girl can't pull this off because it's too much work.

The same way average dudes can't pull the Red Pill level up because it's too much work. We are used to mediocrity because we are lazy and change is hard work. So we stay in our comfort zone of being average.

Yo Ubunja, this right here struck a chord within me. How do I Red Pill level up. Laziness and indiscipline has been my greatest weakness..can't seem to be serious about changing my lifestyle.
You've pointed out some things for the op, kindly give me some pointers too. Cheers.

Hi. Great scores. Thanks for sharing your experience. The quant could've been higher but I think you can work with what you have. Your GPA, SOP and LORs should give you that push, especially for the schools you've listed. I've seen admits on gradcafe with similar profiles as yours, with even less GPAs.
However, if you want to target more top schools, a higher GRE quant score should give you an edge, but even that is not guaranteed as it's still contingent on the other parts of your profile (SOP, LOR, publications, etc). Besides, I know there's a general 21 day rule for retaking the exam, so I'm concerned if you'll meet priority deadlines for most schools should you decide to retake the test.
My advice therefore is to work on the other parts of your application, reach out to prospective POIs and apply early.
Good luck #Fall2019 #YesWeCan
Thanks bro. I'll do just that. Cheers.

Okay so I took the GRE last week after roughly a month and half of preps plus all the nysc ppa wahala. Exam experience was so so, felt like I was just going through the motions during the test.
Issue task was okay, I didn't provide adequate examples though so hopefully e go make. Then argument was good.
The exam format was qvqvq. I was happy with this but after the test I no even know again. First quant was easy, maybe I made little mistakes, however I couldn't differentiate between the experimental and the 2nd one so I just went with the flow. My lack of exhaustive practice showed here. Actually I felt norms, engineering boy go rough am. Verbal was verbal so no surprises.
Firstly, i advice that you should start preps for the gre on time, no do rush rush like me. I'll advice guys to do more practice tests though. I only did 2; 1 powerprep and one paper test. I'll also advice guys to avoid too much jacking and enter practicing straight. Only when you're familiar with your weak points then you can read to strengthen those areas. I made sure I read everything before practicing and even though that is good, it was wasting time that I didn't have the luxury of. Reading is important but practicing is importanter.
So final score; Q-158 V-157, I'm a little disappointed with the quant tho, it just felt like I was ghosting during the test. Anyway, I sha sent scores to four schools. Yeah, my profile.
Discipline- Petroleum Engineering
Degree in view-Msc/PhD (preferably MSc though)
GRE-315(Q158)
GPA-4.62/5.00
Publications- Nil
Schools I submitted scores to;
Texas tech
U of Alaska Fairbanks
Colorado school of mines and
LSU, Baton rouge.

So guys, what do you feel about my chances. I'm still contemplating on rewriting the GRE because of my quant but no extra money for that at the moment. Anyway I'll appreciate your insights.

Good day guys, so I registered for the GRE early this month, exam is on the 7th of Nov (God help me cry )
Studying hasn't been easy cos of ppa palava. But boys will survive.
Profile
Course- Petroleum and gas engineering
Cgpa- 3.77/4.00(Wes unofficial)
Target-Msc/PhD
I actually had some schools in mind but I've been having second thoughts on if I should continue in the oil and gas field or diverge to something else. Especially when I read posts from scholastica16 and other guys about how petroleum has casted.
Time is not really on my side as there are other aspects of the application that I haven't even begun.
I would sincerely appreciate any advice as I'll continue to search and look inward as to what I really want.
Thanks and God bless.

They probably won't respond to you because the answer is on this thread. Paying directly to ETS you will pay via a PayPal bank account connected to your main bank who will charge you $205 at the subsisting exchange rate which is like #360-365. Which means you pay $205×360/365 ~ #73.5K

If you pay via BY MAFIT you get charged #50K. They are well-known and are a licenced GRE etc. agency. If you pay via PonPon, you pay #45K. He is a firstclass grad, former Akokaite, currently doing his MSc in the US. A seasoned vet of this thread and one whom all those who have registered through him say he is above-board in his dealings.

It is a function of trust factor and your pocket. You don't get extra marks for using ETS for e.g.
Wow, so Sir ponpon na fellow akokaite, well-done sir, your boy just finished last year. I greet you scholastica. Going through your story on this thread from fall 2017 was interesting to say the least. More grace Sir.

Hi.
You know, I used to ask this same question, too, and you know what? It made me procrastinate, it made me believe abroad studies wasn't meant for someone like me. So if you keep asking and wanting to know just how much, you might never get involved or know. I followed closely this thread and the other VISA thread last year, and I never dared to take any steps. But right now, I am on a mission.

Though a rookie, my advice is this: take a step, start the process. Of course you'll need to spend lots of money even when you don't see any lying around, but I tell you, miracles do happen, and there are ones that happen in the form of everyday people, and I know I read some inspiring stories on here. So just take those steps, one after another, and you will be surprised how far you will go. Sheybi there are no sponsors with several millions now, in your walk you'll get to a stage where sponsors will have no choice but to show up; those people you think don't have millions will, all of a sudden, have mini-millions, and several mini-millions sum up to millions wink

Hehe... For someone like me, it's funding or nothing at all ...lol. Even as an MS student, ayam looking to get the fullest of scholarships. With God and fierce determination, I know it's possible.

Whew! Too much talk w/o answering any of your questions, right? Well, lemme try to answer the simplest one that I can... There are scholarships and there are scholarships, but no, they don't cover the handicap as you would still have to provide a statement of account (of your sponsor) regardless of the kind of scholarship you've gotten. This usually proves that you can sustain yourself over there and won't just go over and become a literate nuisance and liability to their government, cos truly, na mama sabi d number of pikin weyn she born.
Thanks a lot Bro/Sis, I really appreciate. I'm actually vying for fall'19 tho I've not written the GRE yet. This nysc dey disturb person gan.

Good day guys, been a long time follower of the thread. Please I need a clarification on something.
How much must you have to consider going to the US for grad studies. For instance, in a case where you don't have a sponsor with an account balance of several millions. Cos I've read from various visa transcripts that it is a vital factor in getting ur visa. It even affects admission too.
Also, does getting a scholarship cover up for this handicap.
I look forward to your answers.
