Hello, ur friend failed to prove that he/she will come back. His relative in Canada made it obvious. He should av done self sponsor while the money sits in his account here. It is highly important to prove that you will come back to ur country after ur studies.

So you're suggesting he should do self sponsor?

There your problem lies, your sponsor's asset can not cover for you. it only demonstrate is financial stability. Please work on your own profile before attempting to reapply.

So the 50kCAD in his account is not good enough?

The sponsor has 450k worth of asset. He provided it to demonstrate to the Visa Officer of his ability and capacity to sponsor the applicant

Greetings House ,

Gurus Please I need advice.

My friend got refused this morning and attached below is the message from the VO.

Here's some details.

My friend is being sponsored by his Canadian cousin who is a pharmacist, has 53kCAd in his account. He also attached property documents worth 450kcad and tax documents too.

My friend is studying a two-year(4semesters) PGD program, with a total 3 semester tuition costing around 22k( each semesteris 7k) 4th is CO-OP, no tuition, He has paid 7.7k CAD already.
.He also secured a 10kcad per session post-graduate scholarship award from his work place .

I'm a bit confused, is his relative based in canada not eligible to sponsor him?

Please how can someone who is 28 years demonstrate strong home Ties.

When you see the need to converse with a stranger, even on an anonymous platform, you should have the decency to greet first, properly follow the timeline of comments that led to the one that piqued your interest, before asking offensive questions.

If you're indeed the consultant your profile claims you are, behavioural etiquette should be no challenge to you.

I only asked you a simple question.

This is an interactive forum , what made my question offensive?

I didn't see you going around and greeting people too

What masters are you doing that you need 100M proof of fund ?. You could ask ur agent how they did their calculations. From information available here and other sources, minimum funds required to support yourself as a student: show first year tuition fee ,best to pay some or all of it if you can, yearly living expenses of 10k, 20k for 2 years program.
4k for first accompanying family member and 3k each for others. With maybe an additional 5k for miscellany. I guess you are self sponsored, in which case they want to show every fund, and maybe they are also trying to give the impression that you have excess. But like someone pointed out earlier, the self sponsor is hard to win. i tried it in 2018. You might need to show more than money. Assets and ties. Just an advice, sort out your pof yourself. Pof is not just about dumping millions in your bank account. How do you explain it with proof ? Explain the source.

Please, you said Self sponsor is difficult?
Which one do you advise?

Self sponsor is a crazy route to follow and I have had my share of the breakfast recently. These VOs shine their eyes once they see selfsponsor nowadays. My advise, complete your full tuition fee and do a GIC of at least 10k CAD. Have solid home ties, letter of introduction landed properties, tax clearance, pension reference and statement, employment letter, affidavit of return, etc. I believe your closing balance will be sufficient afterwards.

Please what does letter of introduction mean here

Lol.

See as I just dey laugh you.

Your Igbo brothers in Kano State will rather die there than return to the East, just to let you know. They have situated mansions and warehouses and numerous business endeavours over there while you sit on nairaland to have blind and uninformed arguments. Rents in Sabon Gari have increased between 2010 and now, thanks in major parts to your kinsmen. Instead of you people to travel and explore your country, you'll rather sit in your comfort zones and create offensive threads on nairaland.

Why are you obsessed with investment, mansions and warehouse of Igbo people?

Which name do I use for her passport.

People of God, make una help me out 🙏

It's not a must to have a niece or nephew same surname because women can be married out of the family.

As someone from cross river basedinCameroon, I know the amount of goods that get here from Aba, onitsha and Nnewi.

Major markets in SS are fed by merchants in Nnewi, onitsha and Aba.

In terms of manufacturing and industries, after multinational oil companies, Igbo business are the next big thing in zone...please stop making careless statements.

Onitsha? Nope there is no Much potential

But down that river close to the tripod between Rivers, IMO and Anambra it's a wonderful spot for a port

The 3 states can come together and build a river port that would take container from Bonny

Rivers state need a deep sea port in either Bonny or opobo...

The best place for port on South East remain Abia

It's strategically located

Negotiate we akwa ibom... Their aluminium smelting company on ikot abasi closed because of lack of dredging of that River

So dredging would benefit Abia, river and akwa ibom

What's exactly location?..the community I mean

Secondly a port in onitsha mustn't be at the current location.

Somewhere before the 2nd Niger bridge is idle for me.

I hope they realise it is not just about building shops, part of it is, do they have the market base to supply to. Lagos is such positioned that nearly all industries bosses are positioned (finance, oil, gas, production, etc). And these are the real market force that buys these product.

Talking about Lagod positioning..... i find this quite funny

Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi has geo-economic advantages over Lagos especially calculating cost and distance.

A Manufacturer/Merchant in Aba Nnewi Onitsha has advantage to reach a customer in Edo ,Warri, portharcourth,Calabar, Abuja, North Central, and Core North faster.

I know distributors in A.N.O who send goods to Chad, Niger, Cameroon(where I base),Equatorial Guinea ,Gabon and Central Africa Republic and Congo....mainly in luxurious in buses.

Advantage of Lagos mainly in SW,Benin Republic.

Lagos is very vital due to her developed port systems not its location

Iron ore is present in a couple of South East states.....

I heard that the Soviets preferred the ajakouta steel to be sited in onitsha due to its market potentials.

I don't get your problems with mud houses. These were built years back when your people were sleeping under the tree. The issue is that traditionally, Yoruba hardly demolish family houses since its most probably that their parents were buried there, so the houses becomes monument. And usually, younger generations goes to new areas for development. Secondly there are a lot of farm settlement that have grown in nos, these settlements have main towns to which they are attached.
By the way where in Ondo did you visit, Ondo town or Ondo State, if Ondo State, which town?

Bros you dey make me laugh.

The major reason brown roofs and mud houses exist in my areas is due to low social mobility.

I remember when some young men from my area started doing business in Aba and Onitsha....today villages are having new looks.

When I pass through Ibo areas with modern houses and roof.....I smile and keep encouraging my people to emulate them.

There are ongoing plans to rebuild mud houses, brown roofs and thatch roof in my own community.

Sentiment aside, I felt under a good working government, Nigeria has all its takes to succeed provided we are ready to put aside ethnical differences. Nigeria is God's own plan. We have the human and material resources to control the world.

The Igbos are extremely talented and business oriented.

The Yorubas are known to produce academicians

The Hausas feed the nation.

All that's is left is a good government and a good mindset from we the governed.

We have to appreciate our uniqueness and diversity. Let's remember that our beauty lies in our diversity.

I come in peace.

I remain Opeyemi 'Chukwuma' Akanni - a typical Yoruba

You're mixing up so many wrong notions especially contemporary events.

1) Hausa doesn't feed the Nation.
Non Hausa middle belt States produce more food than any zone.

2) Yoruba aren't leading Nigeria in education.....alteast in the last 10-15years .

Check the academic records.

From school enrollment,to child education to female literacy, Jamb ,WAEC .....I don't see typical Yoruba States leading.

Lagos is the best academic performing state in SW despite the fact Lagos is heavily cosmopolitan.

States like Anambra. Edo, Delta , Imo,Abia in the last 10years shown more educational strides.

The notion of Yoruba being academic and education ahead is in the 70s ....and of course ,post Biafra events affected SS and SE growth.

I think the days we relegated Ibos to business is over....they aggressively invested in education and now they are reaping it and SS is second

This a false information.

All the Eastern transportation companies are mainly targeted at travelers going to west and Northern parts of Nigeria.

Most Westerns hardly ever travel outside their own region, hence a transportation company from west will not survive the test of time, just like the Ondo state transportation company.

This Another propaganda,
The truth is that those Ibo discovered something their contemporaries didn't see in service sector of transportation and logistics.
They invested heavily in it

here in Cameroon, Igbos are at the forefront of transborder road transportation with nice lovely buses across Central African countries and same thing is West Africa subregion like Benin, Togo, Ghana and Senegal....I know these because I have toured these areas.

Many of their buses here that travel to Gabon, central Africa republic, Congo are AC tight and brand new.

There's no much flight here, so their road buses are filling the gaps.

Some of the long distance bus has TVs too and their bus terminal looks like mini airport with cargo services
