David Silva is going to continue playing for real Sociedad. Kompany just retired at Anderleicht yesterday to become their manager. Yaya Toure is still active and has played for at least two clubs after leaving City.

This excuse is not genuine. Cup competitions are different from leagues. Some teams have been relegated and still won cups in that same season. Espanyol won 3-2 and lost 4-0 in England.
