For d risks , just like any other surgery, excessive haemorrhage could occur , so also intestinal perforation from surgical equipment but I think in all, with a good surgeon , d risks will be minimal. Most patients generally recover fully well provided there are no surgical complications and preexisting systemic diseases like diabetes mellitus which might delay wound healing

Olarewajub:
Greetings to all the Doc and fellow aspirant in the house. Please i've got a few question about something that got my attention lately.

1. What are the causes of scrotal swelling i.e a kind of lumb in the scrotum.
2. Is there lymph node in the scrotum
3. Can this be treated pharmaceutically?
4. Is this condition prevalence in a specific age group?
5. For surgery, is it excisional where the lumb will be removed or things will be puked back into position like a correctional surgery?.
6. Is this a medical emergency, and after surgery what is the time frame of recovery.

Please pardon if my question seems naive.
well a scrotal swelling could be due to inguinal hernia particularly indirect inguinal hernia which is commoner among younger age group and in children. A hydrocoele ie fluid accumulation within the tunica vaginalis of the scrotum can also cause scrotal swelling. Management of hernia will depend on its presentation and d age group , if the hernia is reducible , then the doctor just reduces it though it can reoccur, but surgical management of hernia can depend on the age group, hernioplasty in which u use a mesh to reinforce d posterior wall of d inguinal canal is done in elderly patients , herniorraphy in which u repair d posterior wall of the inguinal canal is commonly done in young adults whereas in paediatric patients, a division of the hernial sac is done referred to as herniotomy. For hydrocoele , if massive , a surgical procedure called hydrocoelectomy is done . It becomes a medical emergency if d hernia becomes strangulated where patient may present with pain, and other symptoms of intestinal obstruction eg vomiting, distension, constipation. Also strangulation of the hernia can result in ischaemic damage of d distal bowel and can cause bacterial overgrowth and consequent sepsis. Hope dis helped ,

Politics / Re: What Can Nigeria Learn From The BREXIT Debacle? by delana(m): 4:28pm On Jul 01, 2016
malton:
OP, you are a sound somebody!

Some people just don't look beyond their noses.
Any movement that's an offspring of hate and propaganda does not get far.

Nigeria may be a contraption to some, but it's home to most.

The individual is self centred, and that selfishness dwells with them regardless where they live.

It takes benevolent leaders to promote human life and the well-being of everyone--even with those, there will still be both winners and losers among the populace. Only a few persons can achieve that. Problem is, such people are those with 0.0000000099 chances of getting into power.

Breaking Nigeria into pieces will lead to an unprecedented strife.
Assuming for instance that Biafra becomes independent and achieve the level of success that she desires, will she be able to enjoy her wealth in peace with her poor and hungry next door neighbours lurking? The poor will definitely pounce!

We sometimes make the mistake of likening ourselves to the US. Thing is, a larger percentage of the US soil is guarded by sea, which renders it not easily penetrable to foes + she has the luck of having a rich Canada next door. Despite that, Mexico still gives them a lot of headache. Can the same be said of any region in Nigeria?

To live in peace, your neighbour must be at peace. Think of Nigeria as a contract--negotiate a fair deal for yourself. The rest is fairytale.

Your fair deal could be to push for fiscal federalism or just anything. But it's a joke taken to far for anyone to think they will live in affluence while their neighbours suffer.

It's akin to a rich man living in a poor neighborhood.

There's a reason why even South Korea occasionally renders financial assistance to NK.

That said, personally I am indifferent as to what becomes of Nigeria, but for the sake of posterity and those that might be negatively affected, it calls for concern.
I must confess u are very intelligent with that thought u noted above. Most people don't realize that if u are the richest among the poor , u are in serious trouble.

Abiola won the 1993 presidential election fair and square winning nineteen States out of the then 30. He defeated tofa in his own state kano state go figure that. Ibb denied him the presidency not igbos as u falsely believe in ur self induced delusion.

When will this foolishness stop? An incumbent president was defeated fair and square in an election where all d money and foreign reserve he squandered didn't matter cos people want him out and u are here saying he willingly gave up power as if he had a better alternative. Go and ask what happened to gbabo of ivory coast when he refused to concede defeat.
