Politics / Re: Do You Think Dividing Nigeria Will Solve Our Problems? by demmie1: 8:55pm On Jul 05, 2023
From the first points this op laid down I knew he's half intelligent about what he was trying to say.
First, British has no right to come and colonize us and lump all sorts of nations that are not compatible in culture and tradition together, that's a recipe for disaster.
Secondly, non of all the nations that you call tribes in Nigeria had any say in how Nigeria was created and run. Issue of self determination is not about resources.
Thirdly, there are many countries all over the world that are less than one million in population and almost all minorities in Nigeria have more population than that.

All of you who are against dividing Nigeria are just half intelligent people throwing unintelligent argument to defend evils done against black Africans

Three (3) reasons why igbos are not serious about biafra and should not be taken serious

(1). Any election period igbos use to have candidate contesting for office of d president, dey don't remember biafra by then but after dey must have lost out dey resume their gullible agitation

(2). There are senators and rep members representing igbos at d national assembly and never for once have any of them raise the issue of referendum for biafra neither did their governors come together on such grounds

(3). Igbos have shown to be clowns and comedians by insulting Nigeria by calling it zoo today but claiming to love Nigeria more tomorrow, igbos can't develop their states hw will dey manage themselves....Nigeria is a united country and 1 tribe can't just wake up one day and decide to want to leave when things don't favour them due to their bad and hatred tribal politics

Plus Igbo legislators and north west are the first to always shut down calls for regionalism in the senate

Support movement for realization of sovereign Yoruba Nation you say no, so why are you complaining that ibos want to move their population to Lagos to take over, don't you know that's the only gift Nigeria have for you? What ibos are doing is not new in history, ask the serbians how they lost Kosovo.
If we don't move out of Nigeria another Kosovo will happen to Yoruba in Lagos, it's only a matter of time

Weird that he is not quoted as saying that. His quote says something different completely, that is just the interpretation of the journalist whom is biased.
The Olu was saying that all Nigerians are one.
He doesn't say his kingdom is part of "Yoruba nation", he makes a clear distinction between his kingdom and "Yoruba nation".
Yet he sends delegates to Yoruba congresses and meetings every year

Efewestern:

Awolowo was too pro-Yoruba to be a leader in a diverse region like West. He only dived into the Olu Tussle because of Itsekiri's Yoruba link/ancestry. A suicidal political move that cost him a lot. He also allocated more to Ibadan with less population than Benin with higher population. His only political allies were mainly from the Itsekiri stock, that's to tell you how pro-Yoruba he's. People like Rewane stood by him till the end, while political gladiators from Urhobo/Benin rallied with Azikiwe who was also trying to weaken Awo's growing influences.

Also, you are wrong with the quoted. Awolowo never instigated the COR demand for separation. The minorities in the then Eastern region were already demanding for a separate region and the removal of Eyo-Eta strengthened their resolve for their independence. Minorities had no good anywhere. It was hell everywhere. Those in Northern received the highest slaps of injustice.

We don't want to open the cankerworm of the past, but if we are to, then we should speak the truth at all time.

Pls let's open everything. If anyone has more bring it and quote a viable source not lies or my papa say

It's a natural and legit thing to ask for freedom when you are dominated and it's also natural to want to keep the status quo when you are the one dominating.

Midwest, south south, Biafra, let everyone go their way and if you want to join together let it be on conditions agreed by all not by will of only one side.
This is the reason why there's so much hate in Nigeria

Money isn't Tinubu's problem , he is a billionaire in Dollars

INTELs logistics controls all revenue of ship berthing in Lagos and he is a share holder

OANDO PLC is a major marketer

Alphabeta tax consultancy services operate accross West Africa charging 5% as service charge

Don't mind the ignorants, they think everything about politics is money.

To answer the op question, I wonder what Tinubu is up to too and I don't think another four years is his top objective. In his inauguration speech he said he will revise Nigerian security architecture and as akeredolu said in 2020 at the inauguration of amotekun, he was their don and anything he says goes.
So I think he's going for regional restructuring as his security appointments are skewed towards the south more than the north as normal. My opinion though

I didn't measure it myself, but a careful look at the Google map shows that Obuaku in Abia state is closer to the Atlantic than Lagos or P.H ports.

The mistake you guys keep making is believing that all ports are built on the coastal lines. That's wrong, almost all the ports in Nigeria are inland, including Lagos and P.H.

Where is the evidence nah? As long as you can read and write the concept of screenshot should not be alien to you now. Share the screenshot of your argument let us see then we can understand your reasoning, if not, you are only seemingly insane for now

Politics / Re: Why SE Must Build A Seaport Now by demmie1: 11:00am On Jun 30, 2023
proeast:
Over the years, there has been arguments and politicization on the need to build viable seaports in the SE. However, it has become an urgent need now. With the removal of fuel subsidy, any region that is capable of landing fuel directly will become more viable than others. Fuel is cheapest in Lagos and most expensive in NE because of this factor. Also, Lagos needs to breath instead of the current suffocation there. Once there is a viable competition to Lagos, tension in that city will reduce. NC and NE will also benefit because it will make fuel and other imports cheaper in those regions.

Abia, Imo and Anambra States all have the potentials to build deep seaports that can berth large vessels comfortably! Before anyone decides to argue blindly, here are the facts on ground about ports in Nigeria and their positions:

1. Ibaka, Akwa Ibom state; 30 miles to Atlantic.
2. Lagos State; 50 miles to Atlantic.
3. P.H, Rivers State; 50 miles to Atlantic.
4. Onne, Rivers State; 60 miles to Atlantic.

Now compare all these ports to those in SE:
1. Osemoto, Imo State; 18 miles to Atlantic.
2. Oseakwa, Anambra state; 18 miles to Atlantic.
3. Obuaku, Abia State; 25 miles to Atlantic.

The most intriguing part is that the designated ports in Osemoto/Oseakwa axis offer the deepest natural ports as well as the closest to Atlantic, thereby making them potentially the most viable and easiest to maintain in Nigeria!

Any state in the SE that first builds a viable port will automatically become the richest in the region, but also one of the richest states in Nigeria.

There is something fundamentally wrong with you people and it must be a deep and ancestral curse for you to claim states sharing boarders with the sea are further inland than states behind them to the sea. Imagine placing any point in anambra state nearer than port Harcourt to the Atlantic because you want caress your own ego.
Pls share the map to back up your post before you try to insult people that are sane again.

Jesus existed with 90% probability because pontius pilate described events of disturbance in jerusalem which matched how the bible described it in his reports to tiberius ceasar.
In one of his reports, he described how jews went into uproar over the arrest of common criminals and most historians agree that it is the same thing that the bible described and i agree.
To an outside observer, if a thief is arrested and people started riot over it, what he will feel like is why the fuss over judging criminals abd that was exactly how pilate felt and he doesn't have to remember the name of jesus as he sentenced him like he did hundreds of others

Hausa, and Swahili are the 2 most spoken languages in Africa , with many claiming Swahili to take the lead, but I disagree because of all the African countries I have been to, am yet to see people speaking Swahili the way HAUSA is being spoken.

Last country I was is Niger Republic, and I tell you I only blend in because I can speak Hausa, and the people don't speak English but French...

There is hardly any African country you go, and don't find Hausa speakers.

World renown media Houses in US, Britain, French, Germany etc have been transmitting in Hausa since before Nigeria Independence .

Why did you think the Hausas are usually vast in current affairs, and politics even with little education?? They are always glued to their transistor radio where they listen to world news, and events broadcasted in their mother tongue...
Yoruba is the most spoken African language outside Africa. There are more non African that can speak Yoruba than any other African language.

If we find it difficult as Africans to live freely and peacefully amongst ourselves, them I wonder where on earth we can live.

When we see IPOB and YORUBA nation calling for succession as if their country will be cited outside Nigeria or Africa, There's nothing they're seeking for other than Change of Name. We as Nigerians are same people with same bad acts. When we see easterners killing each other and westerners killing kidnapping and ritualling they aren't alien they are people who're part if us. If we find it difficult as Africans to live freely and peacefully amongst ourselves, them I wonder where on earth we can live. .

We have to put these nonsense differences and tribal nonsense aside and see our growth as Africans. What exactly is our problem that we just look for flimsy excuses for our failures. Those agitating for nonsense today, when they get the position, it's embezzlement that'll scatter the table of agitation. Looting the money to Europe and america.

I'm sure if the YORUBA nation abd IPOB fail in next 50yrs, people will call for Anambra or Ondo nation. Throwing themselves into endless conflict.

If I should start with history, fir Europe to grow after the collapse of solviet Union, western European nations, brought themselves together with eastern counterparts to have single currency, remove borders and form a security alliance for their protection. They were also weary if cultural and ethnic whatever, but they found out that if EU. Gave them fortune of security and economy, their respective government can handle whatever ethnic nonsense they want to deal with. And today Europe is greatly successful.
Hungary that seceded from Austrian empire is sited on the moon or Romania that came out of turkey and separation of Yugoslavia did not happen on this earth. At least have a tiny knowledge of what you are talking about before coming out to look stupid
