You like many young Nigerians seems not to understand that being educated goes beyond going to school.

It's such mentality like this that make many young Nigerians to be calling a retired General in The Nigerian Army an 'illiterate or Dullard'.

The experience, exposure, discipline and professional training of a Colonel who is not a graduate is superior to someone who just bagged BSc in Animal husbandry or B.A in Fine & Applied Arts.

I personally know many people who didn't attend much regular schooling while growing up but have since further their education through correspondence courses, private home teaching, adult education and numerous sandwich programmes.

Most of the trade unionists attended only
Modern Schools, Secondary schools or even dropped out at Form 2-3 (JSS-3) but they have upgraded themselves to be almost at par with Senators, Governors, Directors the other who call the shots in society.

It's all about hatred, bigotry and tribalism. The education/exposure these kids are getting is priceless.

Again, stop blaming your inability to read and comprehend on other people.

I said The GENCOs should be rolling out all kinds of products from wind energy to solar and so on, but you put your own mouth talking about license.

Do the GENCOs need extra or special license to generate energy from other sources? Is their primary role not power generation or they need extra license to do their job?

Childishness was you coming up with irrelevant and redundant argument about DISCO's and DISCOs obtaining licences before doing what they are already are licensed to do.

Next time, read and comprehend before inserting your own side, off topic and irrelevant argument

Don't blame your inability to read and comprehend simple English words on other people, I said "The GENCOs should be rolling out all kinds of products from wind energy to solar and so on, but they can not because they are chronically in debt and the DISCOs on the other hand can not pay for energy deliveries because they are also poor and in debt"

I was talking about improving their current operations, not for them to cross into each others areas of business. Learn how to read and comprehend.

What's that got to do with laws and changing laws? Do they have to change laws before GENCOs build solar plants and install wind turbines to generate power or for the DISCOS to invest and improve their operations? Exactly what laws must be changed for that to happen?

Encroaching into each others areas of business like GENCOs distributing instead of generating and vise versa, that's a different topic and argument, start your own topic to discuss that.

And where is the crime and offence in advising them to diversify to better their operations and serve Nigerians properly?

Is adapting and looking for better market opportunities not part of doing business?

If you have nothing better to discuss, please go away, I don't have time for silly and pointless argument.

Who is arguing with you about definition of privatization?

Listen to yourself. You are not making sense yet.

That bold part is super dumb idea. You don't mandate a gas turbine owner to start generating solar or wind energy the way you are suggesting. This is a forum and not a occult meeting or dictatorship setting where they order to do things out of a general consensus or assumption.

Are you going to give the solar owner interest free loans to start a solar factory of farm?

lol....So, you are a GENCO and your job is power generation, but you can not make any money or generate any power because you depend on Gas that's not always available for tons of reasons to power your gas turbine, as a business man, do you need other people to tell you to diversify your operations by investing in other power generation methods with zero need for gas, like Solar and Wind? Is this not common sense and sound business decision? Do I have to tell you or explain this to you and even when they offer such suggestion, it is dictatorship? grin grin

This is why I hate getting into any back and forth with you Igbos.

Abeg go away, don't dull my brain with your elementary argument.

Yes, there is....

DISCOs cannot generate power. They are only licensed to distribute power. Therefore, they can distribute (but NOT generate) alternative power supplies. Meanwhile, any potential investor in generation (including GENCOs) will require separate licenses and permits to construct and operate renewable energy plants of more than 30MW capacity (see current NERC regulations).

Stop gyrating all over the place because you can not read and comprehend.

I know the difference between GENCOs and DISCOs and what they can or can not do so stop creating irrelevant argument.

The privatization model the past administration saddled us with is what's still in effect. If this model is not working, change the law, buy out their contracts and start from scratch.

You don't task GENCOs to roll out various energy type/solutions like solar, wind and electricity. What sane nations do is allow anybody who can generate power most cost efficiently for a chosen power type do the power generation.

[s]That's why you hear of periodic power auction where top solar GENCOs for example try to deliver the best deal to their client or the government.

Go research the last paragraph and confirm it if true so you can stop blaming past admin senselessly and endlessly.
APC is not the first govt to have a predecessor.

Let them improve power instead of pointing finger at the privatization process. Same corruption ravaging oil and other key sector is what is ravaging the power sector.

Where is the improved supply Fashola promised us in exchange for tariff increase early 2016? Where are the prepaid meters.[/s]

Power generation in Nigeria as we speak is a private affair aka Privatization where any entity including the GENCOS and other investors so exactly what are you rambling about?

Is privatization by definition not to allow investors to explore other forms of power generation and transmission? Is there any law in Nigeria against that.

Do we even have to tell the GENCOS and DISCOs to diversify and get into wind, solar and so on? Is power generation and distribution not their job?

As usual, jokers like you just love to hear yourself ramble on and on over nothing.

Next time you talk make sure you do that with intelligence.
So because they want to be politically relevant they should renforce failure and stagnation.
The decision of the Igbos in the just concluded election was out of love and progression. If Buhari had walk his campaign talk, and hadn't retard the country; causing pain, regret, loss ôf lives, negligence of citizenry plight, displeasure and grievances, don't you think the IGBOS would endorse him.

Nigeria is not just about you and your illogical opinion which you are of course entitled to, other Nigerians and PMB/APC supporters saw the opposite of your anti Nigerian sentiments, they believed in Nigeria, their leadership and their country.

Saying igbo people voted based on love of country sound more like an assault on our collective intelligence because before the elections, Nigeria was a zoo, a shithole governed by a tyrant, a terrorists, a dead man an impostor from Sudan and abusing and insulting other Nigerians? .Is this how you define love of country? I think it's hate of country you meant.

So, what happened? Nigeria is no longer a shithole governed by a failed tyrant, a dead man, a terrorist and an impostor from Sudan?

Let's forget about political relevance or party affliction and learn to place the wellbeing of the country first. That the only way we could/would progress....

We have a problem in this country, a very serious one.

Nigerians with love of country saw progress and development hence asking the president to keep governing the affairs of the country, that's relevance and love of country.

You bet against Nigeria and her leadership and you lost.

In America where we copied democracy from, election losers don't demand positions from the winning party, they don't sit around and cry, moan, blackmail or spew propaganda, they move on and wait their turn.

Cheif stop posting this nonsense everywhere, he major problems is the with discos. How will you set up an industry without investing in the right infracture that will guaranty the business survival. The discos failed investing in the power sector. Which power distribution company goes around disconnecting consumer manually in this 21st century when ideal way should have been to disconnect from their end automatically. All over Nigeria there are visibles power cables whereby proper infrastructure suppose to be underground cables to connect various building. No provision of meter to numerous consumer because of their dubious means of dishing out estimated billing. Probably you already forget about what happened in ilesha where discos were caught hoarding prepaid meters.

The privatization process was based on corruption and cronyism, they handed Nigeria's power assets to their cronies with zero knowledge about electricity and power management for pennies. They don't have money to invest and grow their operations with and the banks won't borrow them one kobo their business is based on corrupt, shaky and incompetent model. Nigerians are experiencing the sad effects of heir crooked and corrupt decisions.

The GENCOs should be rolling out all kinds of products from wind energy to solar and so on, but they can not because they are chronically in debt and the DISCOs on the other hand can not pay for energy deliveries because they are also poor and in debt so how do you encourage the average energy investor to invest in our power sector.

The people in that part of Nigeria have a very warped and upside down take on the meaning of democracy.

Before the elections, APC was the evil party, PMb was the evil tyrant and the terrorist that they must send back to Daura, but after the elections they want the spoils of war, they want positions to be given to them no questions asked, they all of a sudden want to work for the tyrant and the evil terrorist.

Atiku that they voted for is in front of the election tribunal trying to claim whatever mandate he's still seeing in his dreams, these disloyal and untrustworthy people have dished and abandoned Atiku and his mandate, they've moved on to PMB, they're ready to work for the terrorist and tyrant..

This is why the rest of Nigeria don't pay these aimless and delusional people no attention.
