What should i do nairalanders?
I have something to say, but I will rather say it privately. I am not going to toast you mind you. But it is true, there is something you need to learn.

I dont have a problem with that at all, it is very good and to be encouraged. The demand for such a skill is high so go ahead ahead and learn JAVA for web.

Xeeex:
Good post

I'm interested in front end and I will soon start learning it. I saw some job openings on stack overflow and they were paying well.

The good thing is that someone can learn in 6 months and go really far.

Which programmer are you?
I am a programmer with many skills from:
- website development with php / node.js
- Native android development with JAVA/Android Studio with some Kotlin
- Native IOS development with XCODE/Swift with some objective c
- Retired from developing desktop applications
That pretty much sums up my skillsets. With a little extras here and there like IONIC e.t.c

See who's back, Oga dhtml is back to nairaland.
I kind of missed your post since you deactivated your main account.

Sir what do you have to say to a newbie currently learning Java for web development, hoping to jump on spring framework after Java then JavaScript and it's Frameworks?
Sure brother, where is that Seun Osewa sef, this is 2020. Make we settle our matter o.

node.js is what i think.
Programming / Re: Journey To Being A FULLSTACK Web Developer by dhtml6(m): 5:47pm On Jul 15, 2020
Yes that is it. FullStack - frontend+backend. i.e. ability to execute a project from the beginning to the end.
Programming / Re: List Of Programming Languages To Learn In This Year 2020 by dhtml6(m): 5:46pm On Jul 15, 2020
^^^ You are essentially correct. swift/objective c is just like kotlin/java. Both swift and kotlin have similar syntaxes.
Programming / Re: I Am Having Troubles With PHP by dhtml6(m): 4:50pm On Jul 15, 2020
You can learn how to use this my library - https://github.com/dhtml/dhtmlsql
I wrote it sometime back and it is quite useful too. Or you can just use PDO directly.
Programming / Re: Journey To Being A FULLSTACK Web Developer by dhtml6(m): 4:42pm On Jul 15, 2020
This is a good one, I came from a background of medicine and now I an a senior developer that wear many hats. So forget about academic background and get down to work.

What makes you a junior, intermediate or senior developer is a combination of the below:
1. How proficient are you in the language? Beginner, in the middle, or a freaking expert
2. How long have you been using the language actively?
3. Where are the projects that you have worked on using those languages (github links, work samples, real life jobs)

As for learning of stacks, let me help you reorder it a bit:
HTML;CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap,
NodeJS / Express
MongoDB
React/Vue

Learn those things one at a time.

Dont forget there are other stacks too like php, python. But leave those out for now, focus on that your list.

Programming / List Of Programming Languages To Learn In This Year 2020 by dhtml6(m): 4:28pm On Jul 15, 2020
Hey guys, long time no see guys. I have resurrected once again after a long time.

So you have chosen a career in programming and may be planning to get a good job in the future, well, here is what you require:

[Website Frontend]
- HTML, CSS, Javascript (beginners)
- REACT/VUE (for more advanced users)

[Website Backend]
- PHP/Python
- Django / Laravel / Symphony / MERVN

[Native Android]
- JAVA/KOTLIN : Android Studio

[Native IOS] - you must have a MAC
- Swift / XCODE

[Hybrid]
- Flutter
- React Native

I cannot be expected to list all the languages, I am just listing the common ones that you find on the job boards.

With the above, any of the job boards you happen to troll into, you are more than likely to get a job offer. You dont have to learn everything mind you.

Webmasters / Re: Show Off Your Best Work. by dhtml6(m): 12:59am On Mar 06, 2012
@doncigalo is it that you lack knowlege or you are just plain elstupido? If all i have said to you is not clear - that i did backend job and javascript job, then i am sorry, you need to upgrade your knowlege first before you come back to speak to me.

binaflexia:

. . . . . .  grin Guys aren't smiling. Take am easy oh make dem no gang ban you.

Peace!
Nobody is banning anyone. The idea of a forum is to share knowlege. Obviously, some of you here to my surprise still do not know the difference between a web programmer and a website designer AND A CMS INSTALLER.

I am sorry to say this, but doncigalo seems to be the dullest person on this thread - it is because of him i painstakingly wrote all that - but he lacks the brains to comprehend it. SMH
