Politics / Re: Remuneration For Chief Justice, Other Judicial Officers Hit N33.47bn Yearly by dom(m): 8:28am On Sep 28, 2016
This is a child's play compared to what legislators earn. If truly we are fughyi fighting corruption then judges MUST be well paid, beginning from.lower court judges to to Superior courts of record. Late Gani Fawehinmi once observed that a Magistrate in U.S earns more than all our Supreme Court judges put together.
can we same same about our legislators and executives?

Ignorant Post from a weed smoking addict.

If the addict took time to properly read the story, he would have found out that the man who named his dog Buhari was arrested by his neighbour who said he named his dog just to spite his father.

Wetin concern Buhari with this?

Inasmuch as we no dey feel the impact of this govt, let us be objective in our criticism.

"ARRESTED by his neighbour" is this a mistake or deliberate attempt to play the ostrich? cos I didn't know his nigerien neighbour has powers of arrests and detention.

Religion / Re: Why Do Pastors Always Wear Suits On The Pulpit? by dom(m): 8:09am On Aug 29, 2016
dunno about that. But on a lighter note, I recall a banter I had with my Catholic priest friend years back. He asked me why we lawyers insist on dressing up - in this modern era - in wig and gown, despite it being archaic, and despite the Nigerian weather, and advocated that we should think of something more modern. I smiled and ask him why Catholic priests insist on wearing layers of robes to say mass. lol. (I'm a staunch catholic, by the way).

You don't even need air conditioner....if you stay in Gwagwalada for 3 months, you'll get darker, when you leave here, you'll get lighter, happens to everyone.

Now, imagine I took a picture while in Gwagwalada, someone will now post that picture of a dark me online in 5 years and put it next to a lighter me, only for the rest of you to say I'm bleaching?

I maintain that the change in tones is not that damning, even Genevieve got lighter.

PS: Na people wey sabi you befogre go tell you if your skin don change

When I returned from NYSC camp in sokoto I was as black as charcoal.

He is a first term senator with no legislative experience at that level. So, how does he intend to pull the magic? Besides, Ekweremandu can't leave that seat without the removal of Saraki. Their positions are intertwined. It will make an interesting view how the whole affair will play out.

He is a first terrm senator alright, but he has PLENTY legislative experience, being the quondam speaker of Imo state House of Assembly.
I however do not think that is enough to unseat Ekweremadu, I also do not think he won that election. there's no way he can win the One armed General in a free and fair election. his tenure may likely he shortlived. let's wait for the tribunal.

Dokpesi------ currently has a case in court

Bode George--------ex-convict

Ali Modu Sherif-------named Boko Haram Sponsor.

Ipod and Ugu leave Ambasadors, see your Life!

Nonsense!

Ex convict?? Were u too young when the Supreme Court delivered a judgement exculpating him and stating that it us deemed he NEVER went to prison?? get a copy of that judgement for ur enlightenment and edification, before making uninformed comments.

Secondly, that a man currently has a case in court does not make him guilty as charged. This shd be elementary and commonsensical; only that common sense isn't too common these days.

Who named SAS as Boko Haram sponsor and which court convicted him?? pray, tell.

This Judge is too dramatic.

Judges are supposed to be preside over cases, and not be the cases themselves.

There was no need for this unprofessional tantrum,by this Judge. That said, this is a Democratic Country, and the DSS should not be disobeying any court order.

Ur clearly a layman, totally bereft of any modicum of idea about law or its procedures. try google "Contempt of Court, ex facie curiae" and learn about the immense powers at the judge's disposal where there have been an infraction. You'll come to realise that his lordship was even very much restrained in his justified and not unprovoked reaction. A more sanguine judge would have taken a more drastic action.

Fear ke. he called a press conference to air his own side of the story. weve only heard sahara reporters version. u cant say hes afraid. u heard him boldly and derisively refer to her as being menopausal in a press conference. now that's not the language of a coward, if u understand the contextual implications of that word.

What is a technological hub doing in Abuja. Shd be thinking of decongesting the FCT and even moving out some ministries and parastatals. That's how they wanted NPA to be in Abuja back then, until common sense prevailed. NNPC, Customs, Coal Corporation, Trade and Investments, Solid Minerals etc have no business being in Abuja. Talking of technological hubs and not expressly mentioning Aba, Nnewi and the like is mischievously playing the ostrich.

On a more serious note, I once dated a gal who came from an all gal family. She told me her dad said he'll beg whoever is marrying his daughters to please allow them to retain their surname in the middle. I totally understood.

Waste of time. Train the police and other relevant bodies to be very thorough with their investigations. No matter the sagacity of a counsel he cannot secure a guilty verdict in a criminal matter that requires proof beyond reasonable doubt.

I know you are aware of NDDC . this commison has never been chaired by foreigner or northerner, many president especially yaradua and GEJ pumped a lot of money into this, what can this commission show us as achievement. they will rather invest in white elephant project neglecting the basic need of the people

White elephant projects? Ever been to the Niger Delta? Juxtapose the oil exploration occasioned devastation and degradation therein with the money NDDC gets, vis-à-vis the money PTF got in the 90s and used to develop mainly the north. Let's keep pretending and playing the Ostrich in Nigeria. The day of reckoning cometh.

I know people start shouting Buhari.
I expect militant from this place to kidnap odili ,Amaechi, and every senator ,fed Honorable that has ever represented them . who shared the 13% derivatives( this needs to be increased) and huge state allocation/IGR for the past 17years and still neglected them. its only after this that we have the right to complain about PDP and APC or buhari
Oil from the Niger Delta is used to develop the whole country, yet u expect Niger delta leaders alone to take responsibility for their welfare. The whole country shd take responsibility. To whom much is given, much is expected.
