—TWO Chinese firms that are into
satellite manufacturing, China EXIM Bank and
China Great Walls, have agreed with the
Federal Government to procure two
satellites.
Minister of Communication, Mr. Adebayo
Shittu, disclosed this to State House
correspondents, yesterday, after meeting
with President Muhammadu Buhari at the
Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari
The minister said the satellites, which will
take about two years to manufacture, will
serve the African continent.
He said: “I am in the Presidency to see Mr.
President and to brief him on some major
issues. One, NigComSat, which is one of our
agencies where we hope to procure two
new satellites from China.
“Initially, the agreement was that they will
provide the cost of the two satellites at $550
million minus 15 per cent, which is the
counterpart funding.
“Because we could not afford the 15 per
cent, we have renegotiated with China EXIM
Bank and China Great Walls, which are the
manufacturers and they have agreed to pay
the entire $550 million to procure two new
satellites. The two new ones will ensure that
the Nigerian satellite company which is
NigCOMSAT can conquer the entire African
continent with regard to the provision of
satellite communication services

Skew your LNB to around 10 o'clock and do your tracking using 11.088 H 27500.
Standing behind the dish, track the Canalsat, then start TSTV searching towards your left hand side.
Allow the dish to get to the upward extreme while doing the up-and-down dish movement because TSTV is on 3°W

Happy hunting.

Thanks alot for your rapid response.

I will try it as suggested.

THANKS HOUSE,I WAS ABLE TO NAIL NIGCOMSAT THANKS TO CONCERTED EFFORTS FROM EVER SO MAGNANIMOUS MEMBERS HERE.BUT MOST OF
THE ACCLAIMED CHANNELS LIKE WAZOBIA,NTA,AIT AND OTHERS ARE NOT THERE,I GET 85% SIGNAL QUALITY WITH MY STRONG 4922A,YET MOST OF THE CHANNELS APPEAR AND DISAPPEAR LIKE GHOSTS.

ON THE OTHER HAND,I HAVE BEEN BATTLING WITH TSTV FOR DAYS NOW WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS.IN THE COURSE OF TRYING IT,I STUMBLE ON
CANALSAT,AND THIS HAPPENS WHEN I TENTATIVELY INSERT NIGCOMSA T FREQUENCY.IF I INSERT D TSTV FREQUENCY AND RAISE THE DISH UP,MOVE A LITTLE TO MY LEFT,NOTHING HAPPENS.
PLS ASIDE MBC AND TSTV,NO OTHER FREEBIES IN THE WEST ANGLE?

Spacetrotter:
It seems qsat has a problem with Nigcomsat-1R. The signal 87% on my SRT4922A but I have tried all I can to make the TP green on my q28g all to no avail. All other satellites have high signal on both Ku and c-band but it rejected Nigcomsat-1R.

...HMMMM ,THAT EXPLAINS THE REASON IT HAS BEEN VERY FRUSTRATING TRYING TO TAME IT(LOL).METHINKS I WILL GET MYSELF A STRONG DECODER BEFORE RE-ENGAGING MYSELF WITH ITS RIGOROUS PROCESS.THANKS SPACETROTTER FOR THE CLUE.
