Whether a guy is just starting to date a woman or is in a committed relationship with her, there are small things that she may do without thinking twice that guys secretly love.


While there are many, here are eight to start.
1) Laying your head on his chest.
When laying on the couch watching TV or laying in bed after a long day, it’s one of the best feelings when a woman lays her head down on your chest and puts her arm over you.
As men, we enjoy feeling as though we are being protective, and this signifies that she feels safe in our arms.

2) When you text him first.
There is a lot of pressure on guys to always initiate conversation. Sometimes he may not know if he’s being too pushy or texting too much — he might overthink it and not text you at all, which could leave you wondering.
Guys like to feel affection too, and if he’s really into you, he will be thinking about you. Sending him a quick text will brighten his day and spark a good conversation.

3) When you tell him you appreciate him.
Some people are more affectionate than others, and there’s nothing wrong with however you are. Just remember, if a man puts in a lot of effort into your relationship (as he should), he will never complain about hearing how much you appreciate him.
While he should be able to read your feelings from your actions, some guys need a more direct approach. It will make him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

4) Play with his hair while he’s driving.
I didn’t realize how great this one was until my girlfriend randomly did it one day. If you’re riding shotgun, reach over and lightly scratch the back of his head for awhile. Guaranteed to make him smile. (Don’t distract him too much though, he’s driving!)

5) Brag about him on Facebook.
Some girls go overboard with this. Way overboard. But, if your guy does something nice for you, it never hurts to talk about it or snap a photo of the impromptu dinner he had arranged when you got home from work.
It will show him that you appreciate him and are willing to share your appreciation and love for him with the world.

6) Really listen.
Women know better than anyone that really listening isn’t just a passive activity. It’s actually an action and it takes effort. Sometimes a guy has something important going on in his life, is working towards a goal, or is just stressed out about work.
When you really sit down, keep his eye contact and become genuinely engaged in a conversation about something important to him, it will let him know you care (even if he already does).

7) Text him when you’re out with your friends.
I’ve heard some really bad stories about guys who are insanely jealous or don’t “let” their girlfriend go out with friends, and especially with other guys. While I understand the apprehension, a man should be secure enough in his relationship (and trust his girlfriend enough) to not worry every second she is out without him.
If you have a man who is mature enough to tell you to go have a good time, text him every now and then during the course of the night just saying hello. It will make him smile and let him know that you’re still thinking about him when you’re out.

Be affectionate.
You don’t have to jump on him in public, but small things like taking his hand while you’re walking, hugging him in line at the grocery store, or hooking your arm into his as you walk into a party, will make him feel close to you and that you’re proud to be with him.
The little things go a long way.

Men are relatively easy to please. When we say that, we mean it. We don’t require a lot to stay happy and we really do love doing things for our girlfriend to make her feel special.

Hammed Adebayo, Di­rector of Finance and Administration, Habol Petroleum Limited, left office last Monday night with a strict instruction to his employ­ees to be at work the following day Tuesday, latest by 6am, so he could crosscheck if there was any shortage in the quantity of Pre­mium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold to consumers.

He had warned them that if any shortage was discovered, the amount involved would be deducted from the sala­ries of those who were on duty at the time. Unfortunately, Adebayo never made it home that day let alone coming out again the fol­lowing day as he was caught up in an inferno that claimed his life.


Sun reports that , according to eyewitness reports, a reckless driver who was carrying inflammable liquid in a truck had hit a vehicle at Igando area of Lagos and in a flurry of anger, the driver of the vehicle pursued the truck driver and in a bid to escape, the careless truck driver switched off the head­lights of his truck and while moving in a breath-taking speed, hit a sta­tionary vehicle which immediately exploded in flames.
Adebayo who was trying to avoid the fire veered off the and hit the culvert by the roadside. The driver’s door, it was learnt, was pinned to the culvert and there was no time to quickly get down from the other front door. Within seconds, his saloon car was caught up in flames with him inside it. The residents of the area, Sunday Sun learnt, made desperate efforts to put out the fire by pouring sand and water on the vehicle but with the intensity of the fire, they couldn’t do much. His burnt body was found by the fire fighters who had to cut off the top of the vehicle to get his remains out. Nothing from the car including a sum of N100,000.00, a laptop and a phone could be saved.
On Tuesday morning, an em­ployee of Adebayo who identified himself as Sunday was at the scene of the accident.
He disclosed that they all left work at the same time but he and a friend dropped at Badore bus stop. An hour later, Adebayo’s wife called his friend to complain that she had not seen her husband. They called Adebayo’s cell phones but he was not answering the calls. Scared that their car had been attacked by armed robbers, they ran out to trace him. On the way, policemen warned them to take the other route as there was a fire incident ahead. He said:
“We heard that the vehi­cles involved were jeeps and when I reached the scene, I knew it was C.M’s vehicle.
Adejare Adams, a resident who spoke to Sunday Sun said the peo­ple were quite upset by the atti­tude of the fire service He said;
“Look at Ikotun Fire Service Station. It is just behind here. They didn’t come on time before the people got burnt. That’s what is so upsetting about Nigeria. They are never prepared for emer­gencies. A lot of people were angry. They almost beat up the fire fight­ers. I saw the Honda man’s phone. It was burnt. The phone battery and the man’s laptop were destroyed.”
Adams expressed anger at the peo­ple who refused to help salvage the situation but instead, opened the trailers to carry crates of beer to drink.

The eldest brother of the late Adebayo, Akeem Hameed, who spoke for the family, told Sunday Sun that he was called at 11:50p.m by his younger sister who was hysteric about Bayo not yet home. Bayo had earlier told his wife he wanted to eat fufu for dinner. When he didn’t get home, she got wor­ried.

Akeem disclosed that the broth­er who was a chartered accountant worked at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education’s Bursary Department while supervising op­erations at Habol Petroleum, the family business. Contradicting the story spread by the residents of Al­haji Ede area that the errant driver hit Bayo, he stated emphatically that his brother’s vehicle had no dents. He said:
“He was not hit. Till the top of the vehicle was cut and his body removed, there was no dent on it. The position in which I saw the car, it was not hit. The car was standing alone. It had no dent or sign of impact. He uses air con­ditioner in his vehicle so I believe it was the gas from the vehicle that attracted the fire.”
Giving glowing tribute on how hardworking and prayerful his brother was, he stated that the de­ceased should not have died in such a gruesome manner.
“Bayo is an Alfa. He is disci­plined. He doesn’t drink, smoke, womanize or stay out late. He condemns smoking and drinking of beer and even buying of beer for people. He doesn’t like parties. Even when we have parties in our house, he condemns it. All he does is view premiership matches, go to work and go home. He was about completing his home before his death. We had dreams to expand the petroleum company but ….. We couldn’t take all his remains that night. We went back to look for his remaining body parts on Tuesday evening.”
Akeem who had not set his eyes on his mother since the accident said he would rather other people console her. He mentioned that she was taken to a cousin’s place at Lekki and their house locked so she could have enough rest.
Akeem said for everybody in the world, death is inevitable and what has been destined to happen cannot be changed except by prayers and goodwill. Since this has happened, all they can do is to pray for their brother.
Adebayo’s wife has not been able to accept the fact that her husband is dead as she has been inconsolable.
The fire incident also killed four other people and left two men, Efer­hobo Lucky and Ogbodo Sunday aged 57 and 29 years respectively, both of Owode Idiroko, Ogun State, critically injured.

Here are a few things many of us men do when we are sick. Ladies let me know if this sounds familiar….


1) We Become Whiney
Yes, yes when we don’t feel good and are sick we become attitudinal and whiney all at the same time. The baby in us comes all the way out and the overly masculine walls break down. We want nothing more than to be able to whine and lay our head on your lap or bosom.

2) We Become Needy
We need DayQuil, NyQuil, Tylenol, Tea, Heating Pads, a home cooked meal that we will probably pick over, and some soup because we are still hungry. We are stuck lying on the couch and we need you to please pass us the remote because it’s too far for us to get up and go get it. Our wives get tired of hearing us call out “baby can you…” from downstairs all the way upstairs. She gets a little frustrated, but she does it anyway.

3) We REFUSE to go to the doctor
We’ve heard you say 1000 times that we should set up an appointment at the doctor and we have yet to do so. We keep trying to “tough it out” and we keep looking up home remedies on the internet and thinking chicken noodle soup solves every problem. We keep refusing to go to that doctor until finally you just make the appointment and drop us off there because you’re tired of us whining.

4) We want to be affectionate
We know we are full of germs, snot and hacking, but suddenly we want to hug and cuddle. Our wives are looking at us like “where was all of this before you got sick!” HA. She just wants to spray Lysol all over you because she knows your nasty hands are contagious, but she doesn’t want to turn you away. Then we wonder why she is sick a few days later.

5) We are “out of commission”
When we are sick suddenly our hands don’t work, mouths don’t work, feet don’t work and brains don’t work. The only thing that works are our eyes as we watch sports center while curled up on the couch. You ask us to do something and the response it probably, “can’t you see that I’m sick!” Hey we only get to play the sick card a few times a year so let us live in the moment!

The embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, today, came down hard on President Goodluck Jonathan, asking him to resign from office for running “a system that does not have the interest of the country at heart,” Premium Times newspaper reports.

Addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ilorin, Kwara State, during the formal declaration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for a second term, the Speaker warned that should the president failed to do so, Nigerian voters should revolt against him at the February presidential poll.

“I call on President Jonathan to resign from office because of all the mis-governance and the untold hardship Nigerians are presently passing through,” he said. If he fails to do that it is therefore incumbent on us as a people to turn out en-masse and vote out Goodluck Ebele Jonathan come 2015. That will bring peace, progress and development of Nigeria.’’

He continued, “I am sure that (Kwara) state will provide such leadership to the extent that we shall deliver this country to the government at the centre to APC.”

‘’By voting APC at the centre you will be voting for prosperity and eradication of poverty. What we are witnessing today in Nigeria is not governance, but mis-governance. We are witnessing a system that does not have the interest of the people of this country at heart.”

Also speaking at the event, a former governor of Lagos , Bola Tinubu, lambasted Mr. Jonathan for allowing the Boko Haram terrorists to seize parts of the nation’s territory, stating that he ought to have resigned because of the development.

He said, ‘’I saw the sea of refuges and the lies coming from Jonathan’s administration. They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision, creativity; the lie of yesterday is what they repeat today and it is what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you. They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the logic of their lies.’’

‘’If you control the armed forces and you are the Commander-in-Chief of the armed of the federal republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation?
“And you give us excuses every day. In any civilised country, Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign he should wait for our broom we will sweep them away.’’

The APC leader, who recently returned from a medical trip abroad, asked the party members to be ready for change because the race had begun.

He also alleged that the PDP administration not only steals the people’s money on daily basis, but also refused to give them jobs.

Boko Haram have denied that they had agreed to a ceasefire in a new video obtained yesterday by AFP, describing the Nigerian government claims as a lie and apparently ruling out future talks.

The group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, also claimed the 219 schoolgirls kidnapped from the remote northeast town of Chibok, in Borno state, in April had converted to Islam and been married off.

The video comes after a surprise Nigerian military and presidency announcement on October 17 that a deal had been reached with the militants to end hostilities.


A senior presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan also said agreement had been reached to free the schoolgirls, whose abduction sparked global anger and demands for their release.

There was immediate scepticism about both claims because of previous assertions of ceasefires and the identity of the purported Boko Haram envoy at the supposed talks, Danladi Ahmadu.

Violence — and fresh kidnappings — have continued unabated since the announcement, including a triple bombing of a bus station in the northern city of Gombe on Friday that killed at least eight.

Nigeria’s government maintains that talks were ongoing in the Chadian capital, Ndjamena.

But Shekau, speaking in Hausa, dressed in military fatigues and boots with a black turban, and flanked by 15 armed fighters, said: “We have not made ceasefire with anyone…

“We did not negotiate with anyone… It’s a lie. It’s a lie. We will not negotiate. What is our business with negotiation? Allah said we should not.”

He also denied knowing Danladi.

There was no indication of when or where the video was shot but it was obtained through the same channels as previous communications from the group.
In it, Shekau mentions the Chibok girls for the first time since a video obtained on May 5, when more than 100 were shown in a rural location dressed in the hijab and reciting verses from the Koran.

Then, the militant leader said many of the girls had converted to Islam but in the latest, he indicated that all of those held had become Muslims.

“Don’t you know the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls have converted to Islam? They have now memorised two chapters of the Koran,” he said.

Shekau previously threatened to sell the girls as slave brides and also suggested that he would be prepared to release them in exchange for Boko Haram prisoners.

In the latest message, he said while laughing: “We have married them off. They are in their marital homes.”

Human Rights Watch said in a report published this week that Boko Haram was holding upwards of 500 women and young girls and that forced marriage was commonplace in the militant camps.

One former hostage said she saw some of the Chibok girls forced to cook and clean for other women and girls who had been chosen for “special treatment because of their beauty”.

According to a new report, super wealthy Africans are spending almost £4million on London property every week as they snap up some of the most exclusive investments in the capital, this is according to Real Estate agents in the UK.

More than £600million has been spent in London by Africans within the last three years and its on the increase. The wealthy buyers are from Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon and Senegal, UK Daily Mail reports.
Nigerians are the biggest spenders, with wealthy nationals forking out £250million on London homes in the last three years. A mixture of traditional reasons combined with increased terrorism and the outbreak of Ebola is said to be behind the dramatic influx of African money to the capital.

Folorunsho Alakija, a billionaire oil tycoon, fashion designer and philanthropist from Lagos, is also a big investor in the London property market. She recently bought four apartments in One Hyde Park, the super-exclusive development in Knightsbridge.
Her British-born nephew Rotimi Alakija, who also goes by the stage name of DJ Xclusive, has also invested property in the capital.
It is thought other tycoons have also been eyeing up homes on Kensington Palace Gardens - known as Billionaires' Row.

A newly married woman has cut off the genitals of her husband with a blade when he was asleep inside their house in Giridipalli village under Odagan block of Nayapalli district in Odisha, liveleak.com reports.


Police said, the young couple had quarrelled at night, and at around 2 am the wife "Bobbitted" her husband's genitals with a blade.

As the man screamed in pain and began bleeding profusely, he was rushed to the local government hospital in Nayagarh, where he was given treatment. The man has given his statement to the police, who are presently investigating the matter.

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nasir El-Rufai, has stated the reasons why he joined Kaduna Governorship race. In a statement issued by him yesterday, the former minister said one of the major reasons why he joined the race was because of the level of decay in the state and the state is now seriously lagging behind other states, including those recently created.

“Our state, Kaduna, is now fragmented across ethnic and religious lines.

“Without federal allocations, the state cannot survive. Our renowned educational institutions are decaying, while unemployment and youth restiveness are visible. Trust in government is low and the essentials needed to stimulate socio-economic development are most lacking.


He also pointed that the situation should not be allowed to deteriorate further. “Otherwise the cohesive fabric of our community may be completely destroyed,” he said.


“Bearing in mind the need to rescue our beloved state; coupled with deep reflection and wide consultation with stakeholders who cherish the importance of providing good leadership, I have resolved to contest for the office of the Governor of Kaduna State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 elections,” he said.
