dondo83:You are right about sun-drying. Sun-drying play an important role in Egusi storage. If the Egusi is not probably dried and it is stored, it will start to decay and produce white maggots that is like butterfly. Also the Egusi color will turn to ash like color. So when you buy Egusi for storage, is better you still sundry it once or twice depending on the moisture content. And also check it from time to time, ones you notice the present of the maggots, you sundry immediately. There are three major species of Egusi commonly available. - The brownish yellow type. It is the best for storage, it is majorly farm in Benue and Nasarawa states. Once dried, it hardly spoil. Also the demand is higher. - The brownish yellow type with smaller seed. Mostly farm in North East ( Taraba etc.) Is similar to the aforementioned, but the demand slightly lower. And also the price is cheaper too. And the shell is stronger than the first. Is also good for storage, reduce slightly after storage, unlike the first type that content reduction is noticeable. - The last is the whitish strong shell type. It is stored too and is the cheapest of all. Mostly farm in Niger state axis. The demand is also high but it is more delicate to store. Make sure you sundry it very well, before storage. And once in a while, still loose the bags and sundry till harmattan. Above all, Egusi storage like other agro produce storage is profitable. But is important to know this important points 1. Know when to buy: When the price is at least, usually during harvest. 2. Know where to buy: you don't buy goods for storage from every market. Is not advisable to buy storage from mother markets, is better you buy from daughter market. For example, in Nasawara state, people buy Egusi from Kadiroko, Adudu, agwatashi etc and take to Ayaragu to sell on the market day( every Friday), with the aim of making profit. So the price will be slightly higher in Ayaragu market. 3. The most important of all is where to store. I always advise people to keep their storage by themselves. Store it in your house or let a cheap store to avoid story that touch. Most time people sell off stored goods in their stores without telling the owner of the goods or tell stories that their store was rob. Last year Nov/Dec a bag of white beans at Mutubi market Taraba state, was #19,000 by 2 week of June this year the price was #52,000. A store own sold his costumer 50 bags without informing him, and when the costumer demand for his goods, he was telling story that touches. They are still on the case, though not all store owners are like that, but to be on safe side and to have rest of mind. I will advise don't allow whoever buy your storage goods to store it for you. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Fk2021:Although egusi season starts by July/August, but the best time to buy Egusi storage is last week of August or first week of September. Reason Egusi will be out in all the major state that cultivate it. States like Niger ( piko, lambata) Nasarawa ( Ayaragu,Asakio, kadiroko, Ashangwa, Adudu, agwatashi, nasarawa Egon etc) Taraba ( gidin dorowa, takon, mararaba, Tella, mutubi, zing etc) Benue ( Zaki biam, ugba, wamnune, ihugh, daudu, Jatoka, tse aquraqua etc). There are also some important facts you need to educate the people on. 1 Like |

But selecting Kano groundnut is not hard, because is always the cheapest and least quality in the market. The one with higher grade are for buyers from warri, onitsha, owerri, mbaise, pH etc 1 Like |

Nicoswit:Not that cheap, Taraba is better. Gidin dorowa ( every Wednesday), mutubi ( every Thursday) but mutubi is the best market and also cheaper. Tella market is good also. Rice is cheaper in Taraba, but their rice is not as quality as Benue. If you want quality rice with good seed, I will advise you check adikpo rice mill, Zaki biam, Gboko rice mill. Gboko rice mill have various rice milling machines, such as polisher, sorter and industrial destoning machine. Or you can also check Lafia rice mill, Asakio and ashangwa all in nasawara state 4 Likes |

I have followed this online farmers and agro produce sales representative, and how they tend to steal money from people. With little or no knowledge on how agro business works. For the sake of some frustrated youths out there. I want to educate you a little the business opportunities in agro procurement. With #250,000 one can make it big in agro business. How Let me use fresh groundnut business, as a case study, though is among the least business in agro produce industry. A bag of fresh groundnut at ihugh market vandeikya on 9/06/2021 is A bag of ground nut =14,500 Money for empty sack = 250 Bag cover= 50 Shaking + sewing = 250 Loading to Kano = 200 Transportation to Kano = 2,500 Dilari Commission in kano = 400 Grand total. = 18,150 A bag of ground nut today at daruwa market is #21,000 There are far more profit ones, all you need is the right person to direct you. Forget online farmers bring out your time go into market and pray that God direct you to meet the right people to put you through. Also I have been sending ground nut, soyabeans and rice to Kano for past four years, I have never meet the Dilari that sells all this goods for me one on one. But he have never withheld my money nor cheat me. So I will advice youths to stop listening to online farmers, go into the market and find out yourself 14 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria is already at war, we keep speaking big grammars down south. While buhari government and Fulani cabal is taking over the country. If people in Ogoni land are complain of Fulani herdsmen destroying the crops with there cows, please tell me where is safe? Everyday the hausa's n Fulani are trooping down south, the main aim is to make sure those farmers down south are unable to farm and to increase the insecurities in the south. 1 Like |

Yahaya Bello is not really contesting any election, rather the Fulani cabal are using him to establish the notation any region can contest for the president under APC. 1 Like |

fenibak:Ty Danjuma is a Jukun by tribe, the only people standing between Fulani from taking over Jukun lands is a Tiv man. Because Tiv people and Fulani are similar in many aspects like way of settlement, given birth, wicked and mean. There only different is Tiv are strong farmers n Fulani herders. Tiv Christian n Fulani Islam. Both are on conquest for land. So Fulani always see Tiv tribe as their enemy, because they use their farming activities to obstruct the grazing field. Jukun men are lazy, but are good fighters but they are few in number and can easily be run over. But with Tiv to stand a chance against Fulani invasion. Fulani being intelligent, first put in a division between Jukun and Tiv. The two parties have being fighting each other over the decades. But last two months, the Fulani joined the Jukun to fight the Tiv, destroying their houses and settlement, pushing them back to Benue. The Fulani took over most of the Tiv settlement as theirs, while Jukun are rejoicing they have take back their lands from Tiv. I laugh at Jukun foolishness and unwise act. Taraba is the only state in the North East that is ruled by a Christian and a Jukun man. This was made possible because of the Jukun and Tiv population in the state. The Fulani are planning on how to take over the state, and when that happens. They will move to the next level which is jihad. Muslim vs Christian fight. Wukari which is the financial head quarter of jukun's, have been reduce to zero, due to continuous fight between the Muslim and Christan. Despite 70% of Wukari population are Christians. An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Nigeria will never move forward until we learn to defend ourself and country from Fulani jihad. Ghana never allow them in their country. Look how safe Ghana is. I will say it aloud Nigeria is already at war. A bag of foreign rice at Cameroon is equivalent to #12,000 and in Nigeria is #32,000 likewise other foodstuffs. The Fulani cabal said they ban the importation of agro produce such as rice, turkey etc , inorder to encourage the local farmers n economic growth. But they never banned the movement of cow, sheep and goat from Niger, Mali, Chad etc. Now the same Fulani cabal's how let loose their brothers( herdsmen) to make sure that southern n middle belt farmers should not be able to farm. So that they will be in control of Nigerian food chain control. 1 Like |

Nkitara:we are already at war, I base in Taraba. From bye pei wukari to mutubi over 120 km, The Fulani destroyed all the Tiv settlement killing over 200 of them. All the Tiv farm lands are their grazing route. The Jukun are praising them, without knowing that their land is the real aim. A cooking pot for lizard is also the cooking pot for chameleon. A but a lizard is always a Lizard and a chameleon, always a chameleon. Jukun n Fulani may claim oneness. But they will never be. The war is here already. Farmers can go to their farm because of Fulani herdmen, the Fulani cabal shot the country border agro produce are banned from entering from the South West n southsouth borders. But enter freely in the northern borders, Thus leading to food shortage n partial famine n hunger in the land and also give them full control over food distribution in the country. Fulani control the power, and now the food sector. Automatically they control everything in Nigeria. Soon they will start collecting people land by force, all in the name of grazing route. You might say it will not happen, if I may ask you? if it happens today, who will stop them? Nobody. 19 Likes |
