Or the Redmi Note 5A

Saw battery test of Redmi 5 and 5 plus. Not bad for a 3300mAh battery. Then again OnePlus 5T is doing it better with the same battery capacity
You have to give it to AMOLED displays, they can be very power efficient, especially as the OnePlus 5T's is just 1080p

Please help me, my friend borrowed my phone and connected it to his wifi, while using it, he saw update notification and he thought he was doing me a favour, he updated it and now I'm on that scary 9.2.1.0 version, now my battery runs out faster than ***insert something witty here*** is there a way I can downgrade safely back to 9.0.5.0?
Try clearing cache partition, or you can just use the cleaner to clear cache and do a reboot. Might help with d bugs

Thanks so much. You are really amazing
grin there's a catch tho. You have to dial it every time you reboot. So to make for easier dialing, just save it as a contact.

Anyone with idea on how to set my Redmi 5 plus to LTE or 3g only? Because it keeps bringing up 2g even when I select preferred LTE.
Dial *#*#4636#*#* .. click on phone information 1 or 2 depending on the Sim. You'll see;
Set preferred network type; set it to WCDMA only if you want 3g only or any other option you'd prefer

A reviewer in India said it had better SOT than Redmi 5 plus. Looks like he might be right.
So did a Russian reviewer. Considering it has a smaller, lower res screen and is running a basically underclocked SD625 (which is d SD450) I'd say d claim might be correct. Although d difference shouldn't b too wide bearing in mind d extra mAh the 5 plus packs.

What's your SOT on the Redmi 5?
Here you go. Screen was at 80% to full brightness mostly coz I was outdoors. Data was on, and it's glo grin. Played a bit of PES 2018 which requires internet

Updated to MIUI 9.5.1.0 China stable. So far so good, no issues. There are minor tweaks to d UI, battery life (which is already very impressive) is relatively d same. And of course, the full screen gestures work flawlessly
