Oh, so lawlessness has conscience? Lol. Nigerians. We celebrate what we abhor because it favours us. The country is morally bankrupt, it's been dog-eat-dog but INEC and the judiciary has taken us to another level. The best movies (elections) are yet to start. Grab your popcorn and prepare to watch Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo electoral drama.

Morality? Mr. Atiku , you are not qualified to talk about it.
Rotational Presidency? If you are so passionate about it, why did you desperately and selfishly, insist on succeeding Buhari? Actions, they say, speak louder than words

Hmmm. So, no comment on the points of law he raised? Nigerians are wonderful people. No wonder politicians believe it's much easier to enslave people than animals. We're talking about strengthening our institutions to guarantee Nigeria's future.

As usual, you saw no substance in what he said to guarantee the future of this country. When kids born to some of you experience this same political debauchery years to come in a country that's supposed to be progressive, would then would be your consolation at old age? Yes, he has lost, but he made valid recommendations to strengthen our Democratic process. Politics affect lives
Politics / Re: Paragraph-93 Of The “INEC Regulations” --Versus-- Section-64(6) Of Electoral-Act by DrMPH: 9:02am On Oct 28, 2023
BluntCrazeMan:
Some interpretations need to be made by the courts..
That's what I said.
And that's what I am still saying.

This is not a case of taking anyone to court.
This is a case of trying to understand the judgements better.

They think constitutional issues starts and ends with politics. Now, let me help them put things in perspective:
1. Since INEC can do or undo, their electoral guidelines won't be strictly adhered to. Parties won't trust whatever method they decide to use, knowing they have been so empowered to change the rules in the middle of the game, and probably claim glitch
2. Desperate politicians would prefer the approach they can manipulate, hence the RIVERS model will be the new strategy. Stop e-transmission, change figures, damage BVAS, and make the manual collation war-like.
3. Gradually, anything electronic loses value and we're back to 1999.

I can tell you that Prof Yakubu intended many things, but not this brazen validation of
its non-compliance. I am sure INEC wouldn't have mind a reprimand provided the provisions of the constitution and electoral act we're adjudged to be sacrosanct. That wouldn't have still stopped the 'cook-a-technicality' by the judges. Now, we lost the forest just to save one tree. Watch as incumbent governors reverse our electoral fortunes to MANUAL. Since IREV is useless, which incumbent would want a collation that makes recourse to IREV? If they can't shut it down, they'll ensure no valid results are uploaded, and then with the connivance of INEC, blurred CTC will be given to opposition for legal battle. 2023 has sealed our the fate of our electoral system, unless the 2022 ACT is amended.

Naija2023:
Supreme Court considered reading Obi's Appeal a waste of time after giving Judgement to Atiku appeal.

To them, Obi's Appeal was a mere duplication and repetition of Atiku's appeal.

They dismissed it without reading it. They says it lack merit.

The only issue they considered was on double nomination. On that, they said it is of no value to the court and should not have been Presented in the first place.

Ok. So they forgot issue number 4 (forfeiture)? Nothing remotely or otherwise was said about it, and no judgement will be written concerning it. Lol. Nigerians deserve what they get.

Who are the biggest loser of this year's general election.

MINE

Atiku: This was his best chance. But he was too stubborn to make deals and resolve disagreements.

Obi: Even after losing, he could have still turn his political fortunes around like Jonathan, by quickly congratulating President Tinubu, voice his reservations about the results and ask his supporters to do their best for Nigeria and remain patient for 2027. But no, it is all about emotions and hate.

Psquare: Those one could not hide their hate and tribalist tendencies at all.

Aisha Yusuf, Area Father, etc.

You're obviously in denail if you're resident in, or have people living in Nigeria. If you do, you'd have known the biggest losers.

It is not anticipated for a political party to appoint an octopus agent with tentacles in all polling Units. The witnesses brought by the Appellants can only testify as to issues only in their polling unit and not all units. They ought to have all agents testify and not what they were told because it is hearsay evidence which is not admissible." Iyang Okoro (JSC).

PS: Prof Yakubu was not in all the states of the federation. The lesson is that it would be easier for 1$ to be equal to #1, than for any political party to prove electoral malpractices in a presidential election.

You are not serious! Didn't you read of most polling agents almost being killed for not insisting on getting a copy of the result, or for not wanting to sign the doctored result?

Actually, there's no need for banter. The use of technology in our electoral system has been foreclosed, howbeit unwittingly. Which incumbent would not prefer to collate results without recourse to IReV? Don't waste your energy arguing with insane people. The damage has been signed, sealed and delivered, and the people are the casualties.

If INEC portal stops, it does not stop the collation

The non-function of IREV might reduce voter confidence

The Supreme Court has fixed Thursday for the judgment on the appeals by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, respectively.

The duo is praying the apex court to set aside the judgment by the presidential election tribunal which affirmed the election of President Bola Tinubu.

The Supreme Court’s Director of Information, Dr. Festus Akande, in a telephone call on Wednesday told our correspondent that the judgment on the appeals had been scheduled for tomorrow.

He said, “Tomorrow, Thursday, has been fixed for the judgment on the appeals brought by Atiku and Peter Obi.”

Nobody holy pass.

For the first time, someone who understands and see beyond the temporal. My major gross with the judgement is how INEC got away with the travesty. If that issue becomes law, our electoral jurisprudence is gone for good. What does this mean?

God forbid BAT fails to perform, people would naturally yearn for a change. However, when the institutions that could guarantee that has been compromised, what then would be the fate the common man, especially those celebrating it today? It means Nigeria would be condemned to never function, it will be an endless cycle of impunity (cash-and-carry politics). By then, no amount of patriotism would stop the brightest of us from jumping ship in larger numbers, even if to African countries.

If one must be tribalistic or parochial, never joke with injustice because it comes around in full cycle.

I would personally advice Mr OBI to take to this man advice because his supporters had already destroyed his chances of getting a win at the SC. Remembered that they already threatened the CJ way back when they claimed he went to the UK in wheelchair to collect bribe from Tinubu. So they are going to meet that same man at the SC. There is a lesson to learn from this that don't just accuse someone anyhow without evidence because that person might still be your only way to the top. Obidients, are you guys going to learn at all? I guess not.

Story, story story. The diagnosis must be comprehensive. What are you afraid of, that the SC will consolidate criminality? We are okay with that, at least there will no more assumptions about why Nigeria remains in shackles. Maybe you should follow America politics more to understand what solid institutions mean. So, if you drag a SC justice, he will then pervert justice? See your mentality.
