Adeneyagrofeeds: I do not think that your future applications will be jeopardized in any way. However, it would be wise to email the embassy and get a more trusted reply. |

buddwizer: I am surprised somebody answered YES to this question. I was not asked of any bank statement at all. The VO looked at the I20 and saw that expense was covered. You should not be needing any bank statement. 2 Likes |

Champ10n: Nobody requires you to carry cash. However a little cash will be handy depending on how will get to your final destination. Ensure that the school accepts the means of making the payment. You should be fine. |

BornAgainMay: You may not stand a very good chance with top schools, but with a good GRE, average schools could accept you in a Masters program. |

bjayNL: If you really love Geology, then I would advise the first option. When I interviewed for a visa, the guy in front of me was going for bachelors in nursing after obtaining a bachelors here in a different field. He couldn't scale through. It is often difficult to give a convincing reason acceptable to the VOs for this kind of switches. Apply to average schools that are affordable (upward of four schools) and if you score okay on GRE, you should have a good chance. best of luck! |

Sanctus1: The minimum balance that you require should be seen as at the date of printing the statement. People usually print at the time the balance is high before funds are used. 6 months after the date of printing is still valid. |

EZEIGBO1OFIMO: That's very harsh. Do you really think that there are people who do not plan to go home after their US studies? I bet you there are. And you clearly hold an opinion that one man cannot make a difference. Nelson Mandela and others who made a difference with their lives would say NO. 8 Likes |

Hi.. I have a question to ask.. I'm interested in studying any Healthcare course such as pt or if possible medicine in the United States. But the problem is that.. I have a commercial o level... And when i checked their requirements i saw physics, chemistry and so on.. Pls how do I go about it?? How about attending physics, chemistry etc classes and writing another O Level here before you apply to US schools? What is informing your choice of Healthcare? How do you know you will excel in that area when you probably didn't do Biology in the commercial O Level? My take is give those courses a try here and pass them ( and also have a feel of what they are), then you can apply to US schools. Best of luck. 2 Likes |

Dupsaw: Is joining the NPF the actual reason why you went for Criminology? Like LagosNIV said couple of pages back, they simply want to know why you made the choices of school and program. If that's the reason, then that's your best answer and be prepared to back that answer up. I don't mind reviewing your responses. Feel free to PM me.... 1 Like |

Drocks: Why do you really want to study Civil Engineering and Why Cleveland State University. I admit the first question is easier to answer because it is very personal to you. You are the one that have the best answer to that. I suggest you get a pen and paper, sit down and reflect on your past studies and experiences so far and write up two or three sentences that will answer that. On the second question, you will need to find out what is unique about CSU and also their Civil Engineering. Usnews.com allows individual schools to provide content on their strongest uniqueness for readers. It is under the heading School Mission and Unique Qualities. That would also help you to answer your second question. best of luck. 4 Likes 1 Share |

DeeTus: Standardized tests if done well will boost her profile and will take the limits off the schools she can apply to. 10+ years of relevant work experience in Nigeria didn't cover for my standardized test. If you know a school where her current profile without test scores fits, then that's good news. She may proceed with that. |

donshegze: (1) GRE and TOEFL is good to write. But since your chosen school does not require any of them. You don't have to write it. Though VOs often use that to guage your genuineness as a student and also your school reputation. If you read the collated transcripts on this thread, you will find that sometimes the VOs will ask if the student wrote a test, at other times they won't. It would be too high a cost to pay to write those tests just because of visa interview. I would rather you prepare for good answers why you didn't write any test if the question gets asked. (2) Ignore the term 'marked sheet'. It shouldn't get you to panic. The page where you got that from is asking you to upload your transcript. Unofficial transcript is the one the student supplied to the school by way of upload or email. Official transcript is the one that is sent directly from LAUTECH to your intended US school. Honestly, I don't know of any workaround for transcript. It is very crucial to admission decision. But someone suggested you try out your statement of result. Perhaps you should do that while you visit LAUTECH and try to work out your transcript. (3) I guess (2) have answered that. I also suggest you email your school and let them know that you are working out your transcript while you upload what you already got. All the best. 2 Likes |
