Vespa grin grin

I learnt how to ride at a very early age. It was easy then, could easily pick myself up after each fall, and there were many. Bicycle @4 years old. Motor cycle @13 years old. However, I haven't rode a Motor Bike in 2 years, and don't plan to ride one anytime soon.

2015 BMW 535i vs 2015 C300. Which one is best in terms of reliability, fuel economy, aesthetics and a daily recommended driver. Cc nur.ey, heav.enlybang, Eldee

BMW. Faster, better looking, better handling, more powerful, forget fuel economy. Daily Driver? I can't recommend either! Once you get the Bimmer, arrange for a small Corolla/Civic and inner peace will naturally be yours.

Thanks, even the custom officer will collect #200 despite the fact that my duty was fully paid without shortchange?

You're quite certain your papers are complete. Better still go to the nearest custom office yourself and verify it. I usually don't have the time to do it myself so I use computerglobal. Used him twice in the past, this is in no way a validation of the services he/she/they render (personally I'll still use him/her/they again and again). After verification, you will be given the verified copy which you should show custom officers any time they stop you rather than the real papers, once they see the verified form, they will not collect your thanksgiving offering or waste your time. The Nigerian Police on the other hand could care less what documentation you have. Just respect yourself and do the needful or be prepared to be delayed unnecessarily. Again, I'm not asking you to bribe a Federal officer, I'm only suggesting you make change for easy transaction along the 630 km or so.

Is it advisable to drive my 2005 car from Lagos to PH by myself.
How much will i need for men in black( i.e Olopa) on the road & also the custom. Am planing to move as early as 5:30am to beat some police checkpoint.

NOTE:The custom duty is fully paid.

Leave an hour earlier. From Lag/Ibadan Expressway checkpoints are fully manned even by 4:00 am. And you're looking at 45-50 (customs, SARS, Army, FRSC, JTF) of them between that Expressway and Onitsha.
Pay someone familiar with that road to fly that car down, or change multiple 200 naira notes. The fact that your papers are complete is inconsequential to the thieves on the road except Road Safety. They will certainly delay you if you don't comply.

Don't be so sure. Not every one in Lagos is mad. Some have been driving in Lagos for years and have not hit another car or any pedestrian.

Accidents aren't fun at all.

Yeah, very true. Had a bike accident 2 years ago, was so shaken that it took me time to drive a vehicle. In short, I don't drive cars I'm not used to. I drive a Tacoma, IS250, 4runner, Corolla, Picnic, W211, M35 (anyone that's available) at home but will struggle to drive another person's same car. I need to get comfortable in a vehicle before driving it. I guess its mental, saw a shrink once and the babe bin too fine, so I no fit focus for the task at hand.

You're over exaggerating a lot of things.

You should spend less than 25k each time you service your car. To spend 150k on service, you must have driven for 30000 miles. The vast majority of Nigerians don't drive that much.

Also, nobody buys 4 sets of tires every year. Transmission is not meant to be serviced yearly, some vehicles have transmissions that are not meant to be serviced

Except the vehicle was impounded by customs, I don't see anyone spending N100,000 a year on fines and bribes.

The only part that's agreeable to an extent is the N100,000 for repairs. Every other is grossly exaggerated.

Big man, All points correct. Save for this one. My M112 took exactly 8 litres of oil, for that I usually buy two cans. Cost only came down when I switched to 15w50 - and there are a lot more Mercs out there gulping oil like water.

Maybe a restoration thread for this ol' timer, so I could be part of your motorcade. Hasn't been driven in exactly 2 years. Had a close shave during the 2017 Biker's carnival. Still starts with a little difficulty, and will definitely run. But the body kits have seen better days.

Senior man, that P.iyke guy meticulously recorded all his repairs, so I'm leaning towards his own account. Unless he kept out some "transmission repair/rebuild" here and there. Las las na big win for Team Honda be dis, make dem enjoy.

Stop saying what you don't know. Each car that is manufactured passes through a Q&C for ability to withstand extreme external pressure during high wind speed, the test is done in house and finally by a 3rd party NHTSA or so.

The accident could have been caused by wrong Tyre speed limit used.

Bad roads

The driver himself could loose focus and cause the accident (I see thousands of Nigerians use phones while driving)

A lot of factors could have caused it but definitely not the car been able to handle 180km/h speed

Uncle Nurey, take it easy on Hoody. It's a new year and we are entering with cyberpeace. We no go fight or quarrel next year, just good vibes and more money.
