You must have knack the pothole while brake was depressed, thank God for safety. Check the sump for damage and leakage.
Thanks chief. Should have taken pictures but was tired - twas an uphill task driving gently for more than 70 kms to the workshop, got in with only one leg, tyre - sump is fine, worried more about the rim (lost the tyre), and stabiliser/sway bar bushings (that shiit is sold complete as a toks unit for 85k). Bought upper arms, a shock and linkages couple months ago, didn't just have time to replace them.
#modified: did i mention, had to source for a new bumper the other one has seen better days
radautoworks: Some might not but we consider most ac repair here a scam.
People have been conditioned to replace AC compressor and condenser. Most of the time that's not the issue! The truth is that the AC system is a vacuum and a lot of cooling issues are a result of LEAKS. Since most techs either cannot or will not locate the leak, they simply recommend replacing the whole system because that will eliminate the leak right?
And how much was it to find the problem? N17k for the freon with UV dye and labor. The evaporator core labor is only two hours (N10k) once he can get the part. Prado isn't made in US so we don't carry the parts unless they match another model.
Nice, great to see you are a prequalified vendor, (which means if you were in Calabar, Uyo or even Makurdi the likes of UNHCR and UNFPA will likely piggyback on your Framework Agreement to repair this Diesel bad boys
Area too calm and quiet! Where all of our Benz dey? Abi una don follow me park am to rest first? My own dey sleep for mechanic workshop today sha, hit a very bad pothole at 110km that affected the lower and upper control arms, stabiliser linkage, some other things the mecho said, and ruined a shock completely.
sheu01: My 1999 toyota camry with mileage of 223711, Pls i want to know if the fuel efficiency is normal for 1999 toyota camry. i normally bought a fuel of 5000 for city ride of 135 miles per week. Is this normal. Pls Sie.na, Ikenmna and car gurus, i need all of unah help. Thank you
I won't ask if its an i4 or V6 engine, I'll also assume it's city driving since you didn't specify. For a 20 year old car, mileage isn't that poor with regards to your engine's normal wear and tear coupled with our shitty fuel imho. 35 litres for 216 kms isn't very poor - But then again, it could be better, but I read somewhere earlier 'that if it ain't broke don't fix it'
Manage am in peace or scan and post codes, and be ready to spend some light change
AmeLonRo: thanks man. A qualified technician checked it for 3 days. he changed the gasket and some items in the cylinder. It gets very hot still. very hot. The fuel filter was changed too. what else can I do?
Baba, He diagnosed your car for 3 days and eventually changed the gaskets, grind the valves to seat properly I assume and 'replaced some items in the cylinder' - your car's engine gets very hot within a 1-2 mile radius as you specified earlier... and you still think he's qualified?
Your radiator fan, water pump and coolant hoses may be toast already. Coupled with the fact that he may have done a shoddy job with fake parts during the gasket change.
AmeLonRo: My Honda Accord has been given me challenges. I have to park it after every 2 to 3 km for it to rest before I continue. It does overhearing too. Mechanic and rewire are are feasting on me. What can I do?
Had to suppress the urge not to giggle at the bolded. It's well! Stop driving it for now until you have your cooling system and cylinder head gaskets checked by a qualified technician.
It was really hot in here. I'm out. That Elshan guy na real case, Oga Dannybrasky remind me to avoid him at all cost. Even with cyberpeace, he's very trigger-happy
6 year old kids ride motor cycles in those villages, old women and young women alike ride bicycles and bikes effortlessly, as if it were some innate trait.
EgunMogaji2: I used to use Total but now use Forte.
Life's too short to be anal about oil. Unless specifically called for, I think any good oil is good. My opinion is that the change interval is key.
Unless a client or car specifically calls for it then the car will get Forte .
Cheap, effective and very efficient oil. Tempted to mention a good friend who uses the oil on here (make him give us honest review). I switched to 15w50 some months back, may adopt Forte by February next year when my current oil change is due.
09 corolla, 1.8L 2zr-fe engine. Average of 23mpg city cruise; AC at mid level, fan speed on 2. Funny enough I don't notice much savings on fuel driving without AC.
Makes no difference, even on my Merc. Average of 19-21 litres for every 100km (city driving). It's a 3.2L engine
I did as u advised... got mobil 1 5w30 from mobil filling STATION n did d oil change on Thursday, hv been using d car since then with no issue until this morning I drove to a cyber cafe after my business there I entered d car to start it but d engine didn't turn... please what could be d cause
It has nothing to do with your oil change, unless of course you had leaks. Dont panic, get a qualified mechanic to check the easy part - your fuel system, ignition coils and spark plugs, as well as starter fuse relay. Also, get an electrician to check your battery, voltage regulator, and alternator. These are all very easy to check, any kazeem with a small bulb and screw driver can run this simple diagnosis.
Have you had any episode of overheating, even if not recently?
#modified - thought you had a Benz, just saw the dashboard pictures
