I think Onyekuru will eventually be converted to a 9. We should try him out at that position during one of the friendlies. It might turn out to be an internal solution to our striking issue atm
You have a point here.

He once said the CF position is his preferred role.

We can give him a chance.

By that he meant defense duties like tracking back to help the defenders.
Onyekuru also drops back and if instructed to do so by the coach,he will.

Ekong has been solid throughout the qualifiers. He has already improved a lot.

Elderson played particularly well against Algeria. I did not like his display against Cameroon.

Simon Moses is a hard worker. Coaches love hard workers. Onyekuru does not work as hard.
Onyekuru whose goals dragged Eupen out of relegation struggles.

The same Onyekuru who drops back into his own half to pick the ball, runs from there on and still scores.

Onyekuru played for Eupen,a club with weak defence, that at times after scoring 2 goals, his team's defence concede three.Yet all this didn't affect his confidence in finishing as joint top scorer.

Onyekuru is now in Anderlecht ,another team with poor defence, yet he keeps on scoring.

Moses Simon's Gent have good defence and Ekoong was even a back-up CB there. This tells you that the Gent team are blessed defensively.

He is probably going to play a 3-4-3 against us and it is a shame really because we can't exploit it. Our forwards are not the fastest forwards ever and none of our forwards can bully Mascherano. Let's wait for the game though
Not when we have Onyekuru and Victor Moses.

when nacho was in. The whole team were terrible in possession. It was like they didn't know what to do. Then the coach made a tactical change by introducing a crosser and a header.

The team then had a plan in mind. And it was the substitutes that did exactly what they were brought on for.

Lester a too conservative and if nacho should thrive, he must alter his game pattern and learn to drop deep to collect the ball and burst forward.
there were about two situations where he did that.
Some are still of the opinion ,that they should sack a coach who could make such a tactical change which prevented them from losing at home to "West Brom".

Exactly, drop deep, help in build-ups and stop waiting for those final balls.

So Nacho left the game and Leicester actually started looking like a decent side but we all want to believe that it is Leicester that makes Nacho look bad? I mean I am a Nigerian, Arise O Compatriots and all that crap but this? This is pure BS. Nacho won't be starting the next game and I wouldn't blame the coach, he simply did not take this chance.

And oh, throwing tatrums at your teammates when you are not playing well won't help either
I don't know what is wrong with Nacho.Ighalo even came all the way from China and took his no.9 position, yet we are still blaming the Leicester system.

This leicester team .... E get as e be. The team only does power play and no football intelligence whatsoever. The team needs a serious minded playmaker to create good chances. All i see them do is sideways passing. Ndidi has been stellar tonight just cos he keeps things pretty simple but he needs to do more. His passes are all sideways. He needs to study Mikel Obi a bit more.

Albrighton cant make a gud run when they on a counter attack. And his final balls are always intercepted. Vardy... all pace no brain. Hasnt learnt anything about teamwork. There is a reason why he has a strike partner.
Iheanacho looks sharp but no real chances coming his way. He will need to be patient. His time will undoubtedly come.
Mahrez is already a shadow of himself. Probably because his mind has left Leicester. All in all, lets hope for the best for our wards
Vardy, all pace no brain?

chance against SA kwa? He was subbed in when we were losing, how is that a chance? Nna eh
He should have taken that opportunity to prove that he can lead our attack.

Come to think of it, both Nacho and Kayode are Mancity loanees , meaning they are on the same level (low table Girona and Mid-table Leicester).

Modified:To me Kayode was eyeing the no 9 shirt.

Iheanacho a bench warmer for City starts ahead of him.

I guess, this resulted to his Mancity move to keep him on the same level with Nacho. If not he could have accepted the Newcastle offer.

Even Dennis Bonaventure and Cyriel will try to score on their debut to secure a position in the team.

The rule still remains the same "score as a striker or loose ur position in the team".

Girona-fc 1-2 Villarel

Kayode olanrewaju was introduced in the beginning of second half after Girona-fc were down by 2 goals to one. He was deployed to partner the main striker though he dropped deep to the act as a SS and sometimes on the wings.

Although, I have seen him played for Girona before now but I noticed his confidence level has grown times ten.

Now, I know why Guardiola personally placed a call to him. Kayode is an all rounder forward player. He can place a through pass with a long ball, he can hold the ball, dribble, defend, play many roles and he is very dangerous in the box. Above all he is a team player, not selfish and I think his pace is equal to none in the SE

However, he has some dirty tricks under his sleeves. He is very experienced and I think he should be in the world cup.

Anyway, he was very lively when he came on and he changed the game.

Nice,he got his chance against SA to claim the Super Eagles no 9 but failed to do so.Had it been he scored just a goal,he would have displaced Nacho.

What the Super Eagles need is a 9 who must score in every game.

He needs to start scoring for Girona to make the WC list just as Iheanacho needs to start scoring for Leicester to reclaim his no 9 position.

This has nothing to do with hate.He was comparing Lukaku with Iheanacho which is uncalled-for.
Ah ah the gap between the two is wide naaa.

Rohr dropping Iheanacho for Ighalo is hate.

Guardiola not including his name in match-day squad is also hate.

I hate no one, I repeat. But if you are not cutting-it you are not.

We are here to discuss football which is a competition and requires comparisons.

Football is serious buisness. People get judged from the first minute. If he doesn't buckle up real fast and get back to the form that saw him join Man city in the first place, he could slip into obscurity in no time. Football can be unforgiving.

E never too tey wey the boy dey injured. Haba!

Everton got Rooney to score goals as well, how far that one?

Drinkwater that is in Chelsea now, how far?

Kelechi has not played a full game for Leicester this season, but you just want to tank him because it makes you feel good and right.

Leicester worked well under Ranieri, Shakespeare is steering the team wrong, just like Koeman is steering Everton wrong.... Maybe it's just that, or maybe the whole team want to change the manager.

We can not tell, but stop slating Kelechi thinking you are coming at thegoodjoe, leave the boy alone.

Am not against Kelechi neither am I against the Goodjoe.

This is how the world works"people complement you when you do well and speak against you when you are not doing well. That's the world.

Am just against the Idea of having Kelechi as a starter,I mean as a no 9 because it will make us look average.

Rooney is not a Nigerian likewise D.Drinkwater if they were,I'll also be against the idea of starting them for their national teams which has nothing to do with rubbishing the player.

Modified:

Let's face reality, leave preference for a particular player or players aside because a coach and a scout starts and scouts the best.

Lastly,to me after Icon4s,Goodjoe follows we are all learning from the both.

Under a different manager who created the system and had the formula of getting the best of the players in that system. Even their genius Mahrez is suffering in the current state. Shakespeare is just not it.
We also hated Guardiola and wished he didn't make the top four last season for benching Nacho.

Modified:Mahrez's heart is no longer with the club.So you can't expect him to give his best.

D.Drinkwater also left for Chelsea.

The club needed Nacho to boost their morale by scoring goals but that's not the case.

I Pointed to you that the problem is that Leicester play forward by directing their balls to Vardy. It is not only Iheanacho suffering. Albrighton, Gray, Mahrez, Slimani.
The same Leicester won the league last two season with the same system.

Iheanacho should adapt or pick a new role.

The game was too physical. It might not be appreciated but going with a physical option was the best choice. Deschamps turned those guys to monsters. Remember, Onazi and Ambrose attacks were not single attacks. Unless a change in system. The physicality was too much.

Blame the referee for not protecting players with his cards.

Keep in mind Ambrose never recovered.
This is one of the reasons why we need good back-ups.

Then,it was eliminate Onazi and control the mid-field.

we lack good back-ups for our CBs, and
Leon is injury prone.

Look at the midfielders you called as if they are the best in the world, how many can give a neat clean pass to a striker outside Mikel, a player(nacho) with 9goals in 13games for his country has failed, bring your Dennis, Cyril and Tammy, when they don't outscore nacho with ur world class midfielders behind them then we tag them failures and continue our search for another striker
A good national team keeps on searching for the best.

Even Baxter said "Nigeria front three lack quality".If I could recall then Iheanacho sits on the bench for City,Iwobi hardly gets playing time before the match and S.Moses with problem of poor crosses.

To instill the spirit of hard-work,improvement and consistency in a team you need competition, and this will be better offered by new invitees who want to claim a shirt.

Modified:If Iheanacho is as good as you said, why did Rohr leave him on the bench for 3 games.

Even Rohr keeps on searching for a "good" nine.

Name a better striker Nigeria should take to the world cup since both are not good and according to you have failed
Also explain what you mean by both have failed, how do you define a failure.
If u have a mid-field with the likes of Mikel,Ndidi,Etebo,Ogu and Onazi and still fail to score as a nine you have failed.Ighalo's goal drought sent him out of watford.Iheanacho benched at City because the two other strikers are better than him.

He(Nacho) is even finding it difficult to score for Leicester.

Forget all those "off-the ball movement".If u fail to score as a nine for your team u have failed.

But the "failure" I mean here means that the both of them are not suited for the lone Striker system.

Hence,we should give others (Dennis and Cyriel) the chance to see what they can offer.Getting Tammy will also be nice.
