Veteran Cameroon star Samuel Eto’o has signed for Qatar league side, Qatar Sports Club, it was announced Monday, just days after he ended a brief stay at Turkish side Konyaspor.



The former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker will be unveiled on Tuesday, said Qatar Sports Club, the latest big-name edition to Qatar’s domestic league as it gears up to host the 2022 World Cup.

The club said on social media that it would “present the international star Samuel Eto’o” at a press conference....................

Thirty-seven members of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC,) who completed their 3 weeks orientation camp in Ogun State, were on Monday involved in an accident shortly after leaving the camp.

The corps members were heading to Sango Otta en route Ibadan-Lagos Expressway in a white coloured-coaster bus when the accident occurred around the Danco petrol station axis.

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Clement Oladele, who confirmed the accident said out of the 37 Corpers in the bus, 19 of them comprising nine males and ten females were injured...................

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) on Thursday said it paid about $417.46 million to the country’s electricity bulk trader, the Nigeria Bulk Energy Trading Company Plc (NBET). This, it said, is contrary to allegations by the Association of Electricity Distributors Investors (AEDI) and the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED) that the Ministry of Power had diverted the funds into the award of “frivolous, over-priced and senseless contracts.

NBET, a ’special purpose electricity trader’ is mandated to buy electricity and ancillary services from independent power producers in the country, including the successor, Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) and electricity generating companies (DISCOs)............

Some importers on Friday appealed to the Federal Government to open up the seaports in the Eastern flank of the country to decongest ports in Lagos.
