Modath, off on what? Exercise or food?
I read that a person who is dieting should have cheat days, a day when one can eat what they want to eat that is generally "forbidden' e.g pastries,etc. This is to reduce cravings but a cheat day should be followed by a day of vigorous exercise.

What do you all think?

Today
B - 2 bowls of Kellog's fruit and fibre cereal, 1 boiled egg white,2 gulps of yogurt(just as i got home from gym starving)
L - 1 serving of beans and a handful of garr
Snack - 1 banana
D - fish peppersoup(half an iced fish) and pawpaw
Water - 2.5L

Exercise - spent 70 mins at the gym,10 mins was spent on threadmill walking at 6kph, did aerobics, tummy exercises,leg raises(lost count),plank shocked shocked ,lifted weights 4 sets of 15 reps(no idea what weight i carried but i used multigym and put the peg at the 5th iron bar) Aluta continua cool

Exercise - Skipping 200,squats 60, press ups 80, sit ups 40,leg raises 70,enough stretching

I was at the gym today and saw a nice scale,weighed myself and saw 95kg and I had canvass on! I've decided to use the gym scale and weigh myself every saturday.

@ Sammy,hmm. Do you warm up before exercise. When you just begin to sweat when exercising,you've just warmed up. Where do you feel pain? Maybe you need to change your exercise for a while. I get bored easily so I try to change what I'm doing.

@ Modath,no offence taken. I struggle to sleep sometimes and when I can't seem to sleep I take Horlicks to help. I like to eat variety and I can only eat so much veg soup. I know egusi is fattening but I read somewhere that egusi is good cholesterol and should be taken in little quantity and prepared with as little red oil as possible,which I do. I'm trying hard to watch what I eat but it's a struggle. This is a lifestyle change and I'm trying hard to adapt. Thanks for the advice though.

@ Topic, i weighed myself with another scale yesterday and I weigh 96kg! I used another scale cos I was suspicious about my scale. My scale has gone nuts and I just bought it angry I'm re-motivated. If I can see a scale weighing me at 80kg,i will shout. I'll get there. Did some exercise this morning but will put up full log later.

Dont think of the amount you have to lose,the journey of a thousand miles start with a single movement and woman to woman we both know you didn't put on the weight all at once and your diet is , moreover exercise is never going to compensate for a bad diet cos no one is ever[except trained athletes]going to work out enough to shed calories gained from over indulgence.
Please clarify the part in bold. I didn't get you.

8pm - 1 chicken pie and 2 glasses of Nutri-C
Water - 3L
Exercise - serious house cleaning and laundry,overall it took me 8hrs and with a lot of stair climbing

Before I put in my logs I have to say that checking my weight was a very serious demotivation. I haven't exercised and I'm only half-consciously watching what I eat.

I went to a gym yesterday and couldn't do a thing. I feel weak again just thinking about exercise. To get to my normal BMI I need to lose 35kg, that is daunting cry

Exercise - walking 64mins, squats 50, press ups 50, lunges 20(they are not easy shocked), a lot stretching

B - 1 toasted wheat sandwich(half an egg) and a mug of cocoa
L - embarassed 1 chicken pie, half a sponge cupcake, 1 toasted wheat sandwich(half an egg), 1 glass of yogurt and a mug of lipton tea
D - will be 2 wraps of moinmoin hopefully without garri
Water - approx 2L

Exercise - nil

Comments: I need to learn how to eat better when I'm out.

Now, good news and bad news.
The bad news is I finally bought a scale and checked my weight. I've only lost 2kg angry so I currently weigh 98kg sad

The good news is that I was able to wear a size 16 trouser yesterday without issues smiley as in it's been a year since I was able to wear that trouser. Also I've was able to wear a gown I couldn't zip up before smiley I'll do a table of my body stats in inches and post so you can see the difference. I've lost 2 inches around my stomach.

I thought I would have lost more weight because I and other people can see the difference, the only thing I can think of is maybe it's the muscles I'm building. I already know my bones are heavy. My goal is a size 14 so hurray!! Er, which is why I got the slice of fruit cake as a mini reward. I know! I know!

@ Romeo, I usually eat wheat bread plain,can't stand it with anything else. So it's just that,whole wheat bread. The roll I eat presently isn't up to 2 slices.

L - 1 120g pack of indomie with shrimps + 2 eggs(1 with yolk and the other without)
Snack(i was just being greedy here) - 3 embarassed Digestive fibre active biscuits
D - 2 servings of rice with vegetable sauce and shrimp stew with a piece of meat
Water - 3L

Exercise - mild stretching grin i was really stiff and sore today

I believe I ate more than I needed today, can't even blame it on all the rain that fell today sad

@ Twinks, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I do not joke with it,even if i have to take a roll of bread out with me in the morning.

@ Sammiejo, thanks grin but my body aches, I doubt I'll exercise today besides it's just raining and raining,would have been nice to walk.

@ Jibson, hmm that you want to add weight doesn't mean you have to eat only carbohydrates and sugary stuff. You need to eat healthy i.e. a balanced diet and you need to build muscle. Muscle will add bulk to you and give you a refined look. Some people advise eating 6 times a day but it should be small healthy meals. Try to have more protein in your meals and strength train. By this I mean lift weights or use your body weight to train. I do this a lot by squatting, press ups etc. There are websites you can go to to research on exercises to do to strength train or how to gain weight like www.myfitnesspal.com, www.caloriecount.about.com . Romeo, trim please come and give professional advise o! This is my 2 kobo.

@ Topic, today I decided to take a good look at my roll of wheat bread. I usually take it out of the fridge to eat but today I decided to microwave it since there was light. It shrank! That roll is just fist sized! No wonder I'm so hungry 3 hours later. If I switch to slices,how many slices of wheat bread should I take?

Comment - usually I take one serving of solids but was so hungry tonight and then realized the 2 servings was much for me. Eating when really hungry leads to over portioning.
sad So my dinner was taken at 7:30pm but I got so hungry later that it was unbearable and I had a bowl of cornflakes at 10:30pm sad. I slept at 1pm so undecided

I am mylove4him, Presently I weigh 68kg but I really want to come down to 55kg [/b]but the snag is that where I work food is being provided for us and it is mostly starchy food like bread and egg, noodles, yam or unripe plantain (boiled) for breakfast. Lunch: garri, semo with soup. Dinner: rice and beans. I work everyday except when I am 2 weeks leave after every 35 days, I wish I can live on fruit but hardly go out to make purchases. If I eat unripe plantain it fills my tummy with gas, if I eat dangote noodles served for breakfast I will belch until the food finishes digesting. Presently I skip lunch cos I feel 2 meals are OK 4 me.

I can't jog 4 now since am still nursing injury on my joint which has prevented me from even wearing high hills. [b]If I do strenous work I feel dizzy and am easily tired.

Is there is any drugs I can take to help me without exercise.
What is your height? You need to be at a healthy body mass index. What do you mean by strenuous work,you might have to see a doctor before embarking on an exercise regime. Walking isn't so strenuous. Drugs are a no no. If you want to lose weight in a healthy manner and keep it off then you need a lifestyle change and that is eating the right meals in the right portions and having some sort of exercise in your life. My 2 kobo.

I'm fine modath. Did not realize how tired I was getting. I barely moved yesterday. Just got back from a mere 25min walk and I'm feeling really tired again. I'll just be good and rest and resume exercise next week. Thanks for the concern.

Hi all. How goes it? Ok I'm having some issues I need advice on. I was able to walk for 60mins yesterday but before that I felt really weak. In fact I've been feeling weak for some days now. Now I feel dizzy when I turn suddenly. No I'm not pregnant. This same thing happened to me a couple of months back when I was gyming daily and swimming a lot. A visit to the doctor resulted in me having to bed rest after which I resumed dieting and exercise. Now it's happening again. Am I exercising too much or not eating enough tongue

Romeo,in Nigeria,the way pap is processed goes thus(at least the crudest and most popular method i know)
Corn is soaked in water for 3 days then grinded,then sieved severally and the filtered portion is the pap I stand to be corrected So no preservatives are added. It's sold fresh an wet in the market smiley

One glass of watermelon juice

L - one boiled sweet potato + egg and vegetable(pumpkin leaf) sauce
