Knowing this administration and their habitual lying ways and record, public denial because of strong public outcry and rejection doesn't mean the report was wrong or that they are not setting the terrorists free off the record...

Their public denial means nothing...

Nashville: Where are Onatisi and his likes who were earlier defending Jonathan over the release. No one is stupid enough to do such a thing and we already had some Nairalanders defending the release. Just wanted to point out that you do not always have to support everything that the president does. This was a mistake from the media and some Nairalanders thought it was the best decision ever. Sure they will quickly change their story now.

You can't and should never take them seriously because their utterances has nothing to do with strong morale or personal convictions, but follow follow and blind allegiance.

The story was that the lady had already been to Abuja and she was directed to come to Lagos. I think this is just synonymous to let's say doing your biometrics in the state you live in but when you want to do your national passport you have to travel to wherever the embassy is located.

http://www.punchng.com/metro/drama-as-woman-bares-breasts-on-court-premises/

Maybe the branch to help this woman is located in Lagos.
Maybe now they will take her seriously now that she has exposed her boobs.

The biometerics logic makes no sense especially since according to the woman herself, she's not from lagos state and even that aside, what's the magistrate court in ikeja got to do with all this? Is the magistrate court the agency's local office in lagos?

Gbawe I think Nigerians shouldn't take this as a delta people issue only. It should be our business as Nigerians to see that people like this are helped.

Of course we are all Nigerians, but Abuja represents us all collectively as Nigerians, Abuja is the seat of government, Abuja is where they make decisions governing our existence as Nigerians so why Lagos?

Of what relevance are we as Nigerians if needed help doesn't exist in abuja where our collective interests are debated and adjudicated?
Politics / Re: Jonathan Orders Release Of Detained Terrorists by ekoileee: 1:24pm On May 22, 2013
This daft president just shit on the honor and memory of the brave men we lost on the battle field, they died for nothing, they died while on a foolish errand dictated incompetent and confused leadership with flawed sense of reasoning and dispositions.

Why bother starting this war and sending our military to the battle field? Why didn't he make it clear to Nigerians that this is a catch and release operation?.

This is a new low for this goofball president.

Haha. Don't make me laugh. Look at these oil subsidy beggars. Jonathan opened your nyash last year after the subsidy removal. Riot everywhere in your city showing you are fully dependent on oil.

Without south south's oil, you are finished.

Your assignment was to support your views that oil money developed Lagos state with facts and not some silly subsidy nonsense.

Go back to your assignment or just keep quiet....

So, you see nothing wrong in continually terming JOnathan "Retardeen" or Tinubu "Tinubu"? I'm more concerned in people twisting their monikers. Why not call Tinubu and Jonathan the name that they were given at birth. Is that too much to ask? I don't even intend to ban anyone for it except the person persists.

But nearly the whole of Nigeria called yaradua baba go slow and other unsavory names so what's the big deal.? They still call IBB maradona and other heheh names and he's not crying and Nigeria is not crying on their behalf so what's your own on a common on line forum?

Do you see or hear us complain or cry when tinubu gets called ugly names? Of course not because we don't care, labeling our leaders and calling them names is our past time in Nigeria and there is no law against it. This is nothing but a bogus tribal BS and you people really need to be ashamed for this ridiculous nonsense...

Again for the second time, why is this still standing? Is it because the attacker is your kinsman, is it because only your kinsmemt gets provoked when attacked or you are just waiting for me to respond in kind.?

So it's ok to label the president or any public official incompetent but we just can't label them daft? What's the mileage between both words? You see how pointless and ridiculous that sounds.?

It is; if a stakeholder feels that an office holder is a donkey, then he reserves the right to call him that. In the history of politics, no office holder has had 100% acceptability. The concern of public officials is to be liked/accepted by a MAJORITY. Only a silly official will be seeking the acceptance of one man when 99 as accepted him/her.

China is executing corrupt officials and you chaps are worrying your heads about petty names.

Banning the use of retardeen and Tinubu is not stiffing open speech in my opinion. Why we aim to lambast any of these public officials, we should endeavour to call them by any of their given names.

Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by ekoileee: 9:14pm On May 19, 2013
sexkillz: Jeez, stop putting words in my mouth. I haven't banned anyone yet for insulting the president or any political figure and I don't think I will cos there is no rule against that (per say). But then, you are deliberately provoking a member when you say Jonathan, Tinubu, or calling buhari a vampire. And then the e-war starts. Insults and counter insults.

The war could have been avoided if you had not used Jonathan, for example.

Deliberate or not should never be any of your concern regarding what's not against NL rules. You can not admit in one breath that certain words are not banned words and in another find your own loophole to make them bannable. This is not only extrajudicial, it's crooked and deceptive.

Of what use are your own rules if you the enforcer won't even respect and apply your rules honestly and judiciously?

Must everything reflect our dubious Nigerian ways of doing things.

Must you needlessly get ahead of yourself or this is just a sad case of cluelessness?

Is it by force or must you follow me around even without breaking your prized zombie rule?

I've stated times uncountable that your lane is your rules which I'm not in as we speak which means I know about your silly rules so is it not silly, pointless and redundant to keep repeating and regurgitating what's not in contention like a little kid excited over his new toy? Must I see your face without breaking your rules. Like I said, you are too excited and anxious to to ban even before your silly rules are violated?

Your silly rule number 2 is up there, I saw it, I'v read it and I've not only discussed it with you, I've acknowledged it and said to you to go your way till I'm in your lane. So, what part of this do you still don't understand, don't know how to read and comprehend?

The fact that you are slow or know how to act slow dosn't mean other people are.

And if you like men, I don't so ignore me and stop quoting me with your pintless rubbish as requested.

I bet you that kids here in the east does not know who is soyika and rubbish noble he allegedly won, because the man hasn't affected their lives..

I bet with my real estate that Achebe's name rings bell in every family all around the world. Because they have all read his work. His book are standard curricular all around the world for African Literature. Am yet to see a common Ghanaian or Togolese that knows about Soyika. The only thing I found out is that soyika is jittery and insecure about the prime position of Achebe on the world stage.

Achebe is a world ambassador.

Dude, I though I told you yesterday to stay in your flawed and thoughless RULE lane?

I was done with you yesterday and there's no point going back and forth with you, you are obviously limited and painfully tied to your bogus and meaningless zombie rules.

I offered what I thought was reasonable and sensible advise because I thought you were honest and genuine and not mentally and emotionally tied to your silly rules which was a mistake on my part like I said yesterday.

Not that I really blame you for accepting a failed and crappy assignment, I just thought maybe you possess better sense and grasp than the assingment giver/s, but unortunately, you didn't impress for a second.

I'm not against you in anyway, but the only time I expect to see you is when I'm in the same lane with your crappy rules and till then, please ignore me and stop patronizing me.

This is what I see after reading so many comments in this thread...

If you are around the Igbo all you hear are boasts about his real and imaginary accomplishments. He is very vainglory seeking; he is title crazy (he wants to be called Dr. Professor Chief this or
that).

In personality structure the typical Igbo has traits of paranoia, narcissism and antisocial personality. He is paranoid because aware of his lack of existential worth, and instead of accepting that reality, he masks it with pretended worth; he pretends to have fictional worth.

Have you ever seen a humble Igbo man who does not present himself as god almighty himself even though he is a starving man? If you listened to these people boast you would think that they are as
powerful as the gods are supposed to be!

He made African literature popular and respected
Fiction or no fiction
African literature became a staple in USA schools due to Achebe and his things fall apart
That is the point
Your attempt to belittle fiction is laughable
I hope you know most classics that have stood the test of time by authors like Shakespeare,Mark Twain and George Orwell are fiction and the most widely sold book by an African also happens to be fiction so Chinua is in excellent company.
I smell ignorance all through your post.

Secondly I am tired of educating some of you ,it is annoying to read folks parrot what they hear others say without checking out the facts for themselves
Chinua's most popular book was fiction
But he has to his credit several non fictional books

He is your countryman celebrated the world over, others shouldn't know more about him and his works more than you do

Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.

A peep into LAWMA’s world of female truck operators

Asked to share her experience since taking on the job after undergoing training for four months, Mshedia, who covers Marina, CMS, and Apapa, states: “People used to pass discouraging comments when I started newly, but now they appreciate me. Aside this, there is no difficulty,” attributing motivation to interest. “I have interest in driving, so when I heard about the recruitment, I applied for it. I started September last year and I am enjoying the job,” she affirms.

Another female operator, Rashidat Adewole, who also shared her experience with excitement, discloses that “it is not easy driving a truck, but I am okay with the job and people appreciate me when on steering. I will do this as long as there is LAWMA.”

Ojubara Abijan, another female truck operator who also spoke to CityFile, notes she became interested in the job when a friend informed her that LAWMA was recruiting female drivers. “At that time, I was not really doing anything. I was just at home waiting to secure admission into higher institution. It has been exciting so far and there is no regret since I joined. I am happy to be part of an organisation making positive change in Lagos environment,” she declares.

For Bada Titilayo, a graduate of marketing from Lagos State Polytechnic, the job does not pose any serious challenge, and since taking it up in September last year, it’s been encouraging as people appreciate her dexterity and mastery of the wheel.

For Adewunmi Bukola, “I just love driving and I don’t really have serious challenge. I intend to continue with the job as long as possible,” she reveals as she climbed into the truck.

Also sharing her experience, Adebode Adebukola, a 2004 theatre arts graduate of University of Ibadan, the job provides the much needed relief. Adebukola, who abandoned a teaching job with a private school in Lagos, says her current employment with LAWMA holds higher prospect of job security and she intends staying on.

But what could have informed LAWMA’s decision to go for female waste disposal truck operators? According to Ola Oresanya, managing director and chief executive officer, LAWMA, it is to give the womenfolk a chance to rediscover themselves besides providing equal opportunity for employment. “We are happy that we provided them the platform to discover themselves and find fulfillment expressing their talents,” states Oresanya.
