Religion / Did Jesus Want To Be Crucified, And Why? by elhakiimed(m): 1:10pm On May 25 |
Disclaimer: My posts are not to spite you nor your faith. I'm here for mature mutually respectful discussions, but please don't test my patience. Here goes nothing: Although, I don't believe in Jesus crucifixion in the way that Christians do (Mulsims belief it wasn't Jesus crucified, and he was instead raised alive amd his appearance cast on someone else), I'm curious about some details in your narration. The Bible contains passages that reflect Jesus’ emotions and hesitations about his impending crucifixion. One of the most poignant examples is found in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prays to God expressing his distress and seeking another way if possible. Matthew 26:36-46: Jesus says, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” This passage shows Jesus’ deep sorrow and his request to avoid the suffering if there is another way Mark 14:36: Echoing a similar sentiment, Jesus prays, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me; yet not what I will, but what you will.” Luke 22:42: Again, Jesus expresses his desire for the suffering to be taken away, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” These verses are evident of Jesus's fear of death, which insinuates his life and death isn't in his hands, as is supposed of a God. Please clarify. |

SIRTee15: My response suffices for a sincere questioner. But you think you can justify your idol worship of Jesus by hanging on to muslim's purely symbolic practices. We never pray to it nor humans, angels, etc except Allah. You can't say the same about your actions to Jesus nor the stones your idol worshipping kinsmen pray to. |

SIRTee15: This is terribly naive. We group you all together as idol worshippers and only make distinction for you two because your origin was also Abrahamic. Who don't care 1400 years ago and we certainly don't now. |

SIRTee15: Everything associated with our faith is beloved to us. For example, Our mosque, Friday prayers, the Kaaba etc. Doesn't mean we lose our minds if a lunatic wanders in and urinates in the mosque or the blackstone goes missing tomorrow, or the actual mecca Kaaba gets demolished. The stone is considered one of the miracles in islam, like the spring of zam zam. We interact with these things because our prophet, (perfect peace be upon him) interacted with them in those way, while we know fully well those actions were merely symbolic and not worship. Our prophet said it's from heaven and kissed it , so we do the same. Cause we love the prophet. and we'll continue to do so. We don't worship anything except the creator of all things including you and I, and Jesus (whom you ignorantly worship). We worship nothing and no one but Allah. In Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 26, Number 675: Narrated Zaid bin Aslam from his father who said: "Umar bin Al-Khattab addressed the Corner (Black Stone) saying, 'By Allah! I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you.' |

Staged as hell. 100 percent. Anything to keep their Christian stooges locked in. Those soldiers praying ruined it And those girls must have been eating all available hamas food ration to be that chubby after months in captivity. Hamas may be equally as sick as the idf leadership but theyre not sick and stupid, otherwise they wouldn't have lasted this long. As usual lies, manipulation, and misinformation: the ultimate weapon of the Christian evangelism. Edit: For people losing their minds over the video being from oct.7. Do you actually think it changes the fact that the video is fake and staged? 28 Likes 5 Shares |

SIRTee15: How you spewed all of this nonsense knowing you're deliberately misinforming people is what I don't understand about Christian evangelists in your overzealousness. Anyone with common sense would know that a religion that emphasizes the unity of God wouldn't allow worshipping a stone. All your arguments are stale, cliche, and unfit for modern comparative discussions. You'll find answers to your dubious claims online. I won't be party to your attempt at wasting time. |

SIRTee15: You've just describe Christianity in a terribly sad way. Islam is consistent in its theology. Worship One God and acknowledge His Prophets. Vs Christianity thinks God had to die for the God to overcome evil and forgive his own creation. Quran is committed to memory by millions just as Allah promised, to make it easy to comprehend. Today some non-muslims read it themselves alone and converts. Vs Bible, with unknown authors, and try-hard preachers trying to push their own narratives to their sheep congregation. You know it and everybody knows that without Africa and Asia, Christianity would probably be non-existent in 10 years. It's downhill from when you all have no power to force it down people's throats. You're not that guy, and your faith isn't that Religion. 1 Like |

NzogbuNzogbu: Your emotions proceeds your thinking no doubt or perhaps you're just clueless about what you're saying. The prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, accommodated Jews and Christians till his passing. Muslims today do the same. Christians need Islam to be hated to feel secure in their faith, not the other way. Fools like you always think every cry is against you. NzogbuNzogbu: The major denominations of Judaism—**Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Reconstructionist**—do not recognize Messianic Judaism as a form of Judaism. It emerged in the 1960s and 1970s from the earlier Hebrew Christian movement and has been associated with evangelical Christian groups. Messianic Jews consider themselves to be practicing a form of Judaism, but the broader Jewish community and its religious authorities do not recognize it as such, viewing it instead as a branch of Christianity. Religion / Fun Fact: Jews Can Pray In A Mosque But The Church? Never. by elhakiimed(m): 1:03pm On May 22 |
In general, mosques are dedicated spaces for Muslim worship, and Islamic tradition reserves mosque worship primarily for Muslims. However, the question of the permissibility of Non Muslims using the space for prayer due to necessity is an interesting one. Jews consider praying in the Church for any reason abominable, but the mosque is okay. The aim of this post isn't to care for whatever non-Muslims believe, but to expose how glaring the misguidance of Christianity is in realm of Abrahamic faith. Here are discussion forums for Jews' opinion on this curious question. https://www.reddit.com/r/Judaism/comments/l8cgzb/do_jews_actually_go_to_a_mosque_to_pray_if_no/ https://www.quora.com/Why-are-Jews-allowed-to-pray-in-a-mosque-but-not-a-church/answer/Gal-Amir-1?ch=15&oid=1477743737572322&share=b6df789b&srid=u81iy4&target_type=answer |

Praxis758: Please facts. Your history from Jungle book doesn't cut it. Abraham took Hajar and her son to Bakkah (today Makkah) while people already lived in Arab lands. Makkah was desolate but with their arrival, the miracle of the blessed spring, Zam Zam, occured, bringing more people to the area. Ishmael was the ancestor of the prophet, peace be upon him, and many Arabs, but not all Arabs. Arabs are a diverse group of people and Ishmael is a symbolic ancestor. Yorubas calling oduduwa their ancestor is symbolic, not strictly biological. |

Disclaimer: The following are historic educational facts with some commentary. Keep your comments on topic, and be respectful as this post isn't intended to spite or for argument. The manifestation of our various conceptions come in gradations, from immensely beneficial to overwhelming extremism. Christianity like many belief systems has its values reviewed for centuries. Here are some notable periods and instances of Christianity influence of Supremacist ideologies and Racism: 1. **Crusades (1096-1291):** - The Crusades were a series of religious wars sanctioned by the Latin Church, aimed at reclaiming the Holy Land from Muslim rule. These campaigns were marked by a sense of Christian superiority and a mission to spread Christianity by force. 2. **Reconquista (711-1492):** - During the Reconquista, Christian kingdoms in the Iberian Peninsula sought to reclaim territory from Muslim Moors. This period saw the rise of Christian nationalism and a drive to purify the region religiously and ethnically. 3. **Spanish Inquisition (1478-1834):** - Established by Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, the Inquisition aimed to root out heresy and enforce Catholic orthodoxy. This often led to persecution of Jews, Muslims, and other non-Christians, reinforcing a supremacist view of Catholicism. 4. **Colonial Era (16th-19th centuries):** - European colonial powers, particularly Spain, Portugal, France, and Britain, justified their expansion and domination over indigenous peoples in the Americas, Africa, and Asia through a belief in the superiority of Christian civilization. This era was marked by missionary work aimed at converting indigenous populations and eradicating local religions and cultures. 5. **Manifest Destiny (19th century):** - In the United States, the concept of Manifest Destiny held that American settlers were destined to expand across North America. This belief was partly rooted in a sense of Christian providence and superiority, which justified the displacement and oppression of Native American peoples. 6. **Ku Klux Klan (1865-present):** - Founded in the aftermath of the American Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is a white supremacist organization that has used Christian imagery and rhetoric to justify its racist and anti-Semitic ideologies. The KKK's cross burnings are a particularly infamous example of this appropriation of Christian symbols. 7. **Nazi Germany (1933-1945):** - Although the Nazi regime was officially secular, it co-opted Christian rhetoric and sought the support of Christian churches to promote its agenda. Some Nazi propaganda framed their ideology as a defense of Western Christian civilization against perceived threats from Jews and communists. 8. **Apartheid in South Africa (1948-1994):** - The apartheid regime in South Africa was supported by certain Christian denominations, particularly the Dutch Reformed Church, which provided theological justification for racial segregation and white supremacy. These periods highlight how Christianity has been used at times to justify and perpetuate supremacist ideologies. However, it is important to note that many Christian leaders and movements have also opposed these ideologies, advocating for equality and justice. 1 Like |

Fujiyama: Yes, it used to be a thing amongst well to do aristocrat yoruba families of 1980s. I am too young for such reference but I grew up seeing famous Yoruba like Ayinde Barrister flaunt their love for their grownup kids this way. Mostly rich fathers, although commoners with very old parents do it as well. I recently saw something similar with Wasiu Ayinde in the viral video last week with an adult male(whom might be a son or his ward at some point in the past). I don't follow these people nor care for their songs. And while such acts might be carried out for actual occultic reasons, I feel it might help to point it out. Cultural relativism ehn |

Older generations of yoruba kiss on the lip as a symbol of endearment between parents and child. It's not very common today. |
