Business / Re: Cash Crunch: Rural Dwellers Resort To Trade By Barter by Emary(f): 2:56pm On Feb 13, 2023
I predicted that APC would lead us to trade by barter in their 1st term. Thi is not Asiwaju (progress), o. Idapada l'eleyi (Pure regression).

Family / Re: Mum Shocked As Her Daughter Keeps Bringing Different Animals Home (Video) by Emary(f): 2:31pm On Dec 17, 2022
franchasng:
The mom should not bother much about it, I was like her while growing up. I owned all sorts of animals; squirrels, rabbit, chickens, goat, parrot, and made desperate effort to own a monkey and a tortoise too grin cheesy

You're like me except that I still love animals even in adulthood. I have owned several dogs, cats, baby goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots, budgies, tortoises, turtles, and fish. I also often caught dragonflies and butterflies. Thankfully, my mother often indulged me. There was even a family in my neighborhood growing up who raised exotic animals including a baboon, pythons, and small crocodiles living with them.

I still have many dogs and I'm drawn to animals everywhere (I even rescued a pigeon who was too weak to fly about 3weeks back). The only challenge is my other responsibilities which are sometimes overwhelming but the love I have for animals is still very strong.

Fashion / Re: Ladies, Did You Ever Wear This & Why Did You Stop Wearing It? by Emary(f): 2:18pm On Dec 01, 2022
Please, it's not a "shimi" but a chemise which is a full-length undergarment to wear under dresses while the waist length is called a petticoat. Some clothes still require them especially if see-through.

God bless you. You be beta man.

chatinent:
It's a difficult situation...

1. You can't let her alone suffer in this condition with your baby.

2. It's quite difficult and almost impossible to feed four extra mouths, yourself, your wife-to-be, and her unborn baby.

Anyways, needless to judge you, let's do the positive.

I think she loves her sisters so much and don't want anyone to exploit or abuse them. But of course, she shouldn't make it look like your responsibility.

That aside. If you can, can you discuss renting a place for the other two clearly stating the degree of inconvenience it will be for all four to be with you both? Maybe, starting sth like a small-scale business they can manage and sell? Even if two of the eldest manage the business and the other little two stay with you? If you can?

Is it sth you can afford?

There are no rules in love.

Don't get me wrong. I know it's not your responsibility...but like you said, she's an orphan. Maybe she feeds her siblings..and of course, this condition will prevent that. I don't see any wrong in helping people if I have the means either.

Also attempt to erase the thought of you doing her a favor, maybe by sending her money for upkeep. Yeah, I know it's common for folks to advise you to stop sending the money since it looks like a favor...but man, remember it's your life that happens not theirs. It's your baby.

I see you only have a problem with their staying with you..but haven't a problem helping them. Whilst it may look impossible, if you are in a situation to help them from your heart, you can do so without inconveniencing yourself too.

Nice of you to take responsibility!
Ignore the irritants!
Be the man.

I wish you success.

I am from Obosi and those are deep interior roads in the inner villages. The main roads are well tarred, and Obi revamped and expanded the main access road through the town during his tenure. The erosion issue is not a quick fix for any governor as the clay soil is difficult to bind along slopes.

The rich have valuable assets that show they have strong ties to their home country. They can prove they have the means and funds to support themselves in foreign countries instead of going to burden their economies. Also, they have extra money to spend there thereby improving the economies of the countries they are visiting.

Education / Re: Do I Quit My Job Or Keep Getting Distracted In Medical School? Help Me by Emary(f): 5:39pm On Jul 06, 2022
donnie56:
Hello everyone,
I am in dire need of your honest advice. I am a fan of Nairaland but created this because of identity.
I am a medical student studying medicine in one of the public universities in Nigeria. When the ASUU strike newly started, I started looking for things to do and clients to work for. Fortunately, I got two clients who pay me about 200K per month since April. It varies; last month, I earned 199K, this month will be 220K+ if I work harder.
I have saved most of the money to write professional exams.
However, my school still conducts lectures through Zoom and we have not had rest since the strike started. We do have classes from 8am till 5pm except on some days. I am about three months back and our test is coming up soon.
Please do you advise I quite my 200k/per month and focus on my studies seeing that i have lots of materials to read and prepare for my test?
P.S: I have tried balancing but the freelance work is highly demanding. What do i do please?

Lalasticlala please help. Push this to front page. Thank you.

If you have saved enough for professional exams, please quit and face your med school studies. What you earn even as a house officer can exceed 200k and you can earn much more if you travel out. Don't let cheap change distract you.

JackDaAlienz:
I want to find an apartment but na money kill am.
I will be turning 30 on october and im still living with my parents. I feel like i have failed in life at my age.

It pains me that as a guy, i dont have my own apartment. Apartments are so expensive now than before. And i dont have friends that i can squat in their house.
What should i do?

There's nothing wrong with you and you're not a failure. It's the present economy that is causing it. So long as you are helping your parents and contributing to the bills at home, don't worry. Just set aside money as often as you can towards a place then move out when you get one. Don't let anyone pressure you into feeling bad about it. During the post-2008 depression in America, a lot of young people had to move back in with their parents until things picked up again.
