Have you received Betaglass 1for5 bonus yet?

Usually, only cash dividend has a specific payment date, bonuses are credited into the cscs accounts of those qualified anytime after SEC approves the bonus. Investors may not know precisely when it will happen. You can always check your cscs once in a while to know when your bonus shares are credited.
This is a general rule. However, the time between the closure date and crediting of investors' accounts varies but be sure it will be credited since it has been approved by shareholders at the AGM

I found out that my Axa Mansard was removed from my portfolio when I asked my broker they said it’s not registered in CSCS. I found out that axa mansard readjusted their shares last year. I had 200,000 shares last year. Sold 50,000 from balance 150,000. All of a sudden it disappeared. My MTN shares also disappeared. I have been disturbing my broker. All they keep telling me is that they are working on it. A few days ago, the MYN shares appeared together with UPREIT ( UPREIT- which I don’t have in my portfolio and I have never bought before). After somedays both the MTN and UPREIT disappeared again. Please what else should I do? Apart from waiting for my broker?

Apart from the broker try and involve the registrar of the stocks and cscs plc.

What's the VGIF rates now?

Still 4.5% but effective from 1st July 2022 it will be 6% because sdf is now 6% following rate hike at the Last MPC meeting in May.

Irrespective of the time of sdf change, it takes effect on VGIF July 1st or January 1st whichever date comes first after sdf change.

To preserve your captial, you are better off leaving a huge chunk of it in the money market.

Everywhere is tight, except you can spare a little percentage of your total capital to take on High risk High yield investment but remember it could as well burn you.

Monetary policy rate is high, inflation rate is high but MMF rate is low. Nigeria is something else, we ought to be at 10% atleast

MMF rate will go up with time. As MPR goes up, Tbill rates for each tenor will be affected positively and that in turn cause MMF rates to rally up.

Done my research.

First bank offering 4 percent at 180 days.
4.25 at 270 days and 4.6 what 365 days.

However I could earn more on my principal by using piggyvest.

But I want to ask here if you guys would do same or would you rather leave your funds in a traditional
Bank like first bank. We are discussing safety of the funds while pursuing best returns.

What would you do? Use piggyvest and earn more interest but worry about safety of the funds or use first bank and manage the modest rates

If you are looking for investment with guaranteed capital and interest mmf or VGIF will be good. No WHT on the interest and u can top up anytime with any amount

Is capital Guaranteed in United Capital Balanced Fund.
The rate is quite high. I have investment in the money market fund and I'm thinking of shifting to Balanced Fund.

Please note all funds that are equity based or balanced funds don't guarantee capital their performance is largely dependent on the stock market hence they are volatile.

The reason you see the returns high right now is because of the resent bull run in the stock market.
Start watching from now you will see it reducing because the bear is in the market.

Most times I advice clients to buy stocks directly instead of equity or balanced fund because it's same risk involved.

Stay with mmf if you want a fully guranteeed
Fund or VGIF now under GTCO.

On the fixed income, MMF and specifically BONDS Sir, is it on existing bonds or yet to be offered bonds?

Usually Rates and already existing Bond relate inversely but the yet to be issued bonds will most like have higher rates
All mutual funds except equity base/balanced funds will enjoy better rates, particularly MMF since TBills rates will hitch up.

Specifically, clients with Ione now GT Fund Managers VGIF will move up to 6% from 4.5% effective July 1st except the nature of the fund is changed with the new managers

It's good news for anything that has to do with fixed income instruments - mutual funds (MMF and Fixed income), Tbills even bank fixed deposits or just the usual savings account, savings bond etc.

Not very good news for equities but equities depend on other things not just news of rates so even if rates are up and fundamentals of stocks are good and getting better high rate or not equities will still do well.

Let's say I want to get shares from someone using a different stockbroking to mine. That's a cross deal right, and I will pay for charges. Once the price is agreed. How do I go about it.
I remember someone here wanted to sale universal insurance at a lower price sometimes ago. That's a cross deal right?

Yes that is a case of cross deal.
You and the other person should carry your stockbrokers along it will be done.

Note that the stocks to be cross must be in cscs and both of you must have updated your kyc before now.

We don't need to do much research o how cross deals led to a lot of old people having a heart attack with Oando shares some decades ago. Oops, I hope we haven't forgotten the African Petroleum saga trying to purchase Texaco PLC (now MRS Petroleum PLC) which caused the raucous between Ote$ and Alhaji Cement then.

We should also mention the Tantalizer PLC, Tetrazinni PLC, Big Treat PLC, Starcomms PLC and all those private placements where crosses at the minimum standard to raise prices was being done to push prices up to suddenly dump them on retail investors.

No be today things don dey happen like wishy washy for Nigerian market. Things don happen for this market especially for period between 2007 and 2011 then.

Your references are noted but that doesn't make cross deals illegal or bad.
The point I'm trying to make is
That a process is abused doesn't make it illegal.

For example it's a normal and legitimate process to access funds by way of loans from financial institutions but we can testify how some companies (banks) have been sent under and investors lost their money because of abuse of the process resulting to bad debts etc.
In fact cross deals has solved some family issues that could have arise when an investor is deceased.
Some investors use the process to allot their shares among their children before death and a cross deal can be used when giving out shares as a gift etc.

With right regulation and enforcement cross deals can always serve its purpose.

Oga Emmasoft, you are a player within the system so I won't expect you to support such positions. A lot of people know that most of those cross deals are done between related parties (friends, business associates, special purpose vehicles, etc).

When results are sent to the regulatory agencies and they are favorable, certain people who have interests take positions in a bid to benefit from such positions. The public where you and I reside are part of the last set of operators in the system to see these results. This is why I sometimes understand when some people feel that Technical Analysis starts off th3 blocks before Fundamental Analysis decides to bend down on its mark.

I also don't think this is limited to the Nigerian Market alone. As a matter of fact, na foreign markets ended happen wella and na dem teach our people sef.

Please understand cross deals are legal and not fraudulent; it's allowed.

A cross deal can happen between a debtor and a creditor, two friends, parents and child/children, husband and wife, institutional investors, two stockbroking firms, etc

Most of the takeover bids and getting majority holdings of a company are by cross deals.
Of course no system is perfect there will always be people trying to play smart.

The issue of insider information can't be ruled out in any market.
So we just have to keep doing our due diligence and get the right information as much as we can.

But by all standard cross deals are normal market activities all over the world.

Or transactions between customers in different broking houses, with an agreement to buy/sell Same security at certain amount.

Thanks @Emmasoft

sure @YMcy56 you correct 101/100 grin The koko is that agreed and arrangement between known parties is key. In fact, it's even easier when the two investors are in the same stockbroking house.

What's the meaning of cross deals?

Ordinarily when you are to buy or sell shares the other partner to the deal is not known.
In the case of cross deals, both the buyer and seller know each other one way or the other.

There is always a pre-determined price for the deal between both parties irrespective of the current market price.

Unlike normal purchase/sale order the cash involved don't get to the stockbroking account apart from the charges which in most cases is charged to the buyer's account depending on the agreement anyway.

So cross deals are not market manipulation it's just a type of buy/sell between known parties.

INVEST WISELY!
Don’t be carried away with the BULL all investors should still do their due diligence before investing in any stock even when it’s recommended because in the long run, investors must take responsibility for their decision not the analysist/the market or financial adviser.
It was one of the mistakes in 2008.

In a bull market even non fundamentally good stocks appreciate in price by way of positive sentiments around the market. Invest wisely!

If one wants to change the account in which he receives his/her e-dividend in. As another bank is now preferred for getting it. Does one fill out a new eDividend form with each Registrar and submit it either at the bank or registrars office. ?

You fill a new mandate with the preferred account. It's better done at the registrar's office.

I greet the gurus in the house. I bought Some fidelity shares at IPO many years ago. I did E- dividened claim three years ago with first bank account.
Last year I bought Fidelity shares with Stanbic brokers.
I received the dividened on my first account for only the shares I did E-dividened claim for.
I have not received any dividened for the shares I bought with stanbic brokers. Is there something I didn’t do?

Your help is much appreciated.

Send a mail to first registrars to inform them you bought some shares in Fidelity recently and wish to add this new holdings to the existing mandate.

You can write your full name and your CHN with stanbic brokers and your mandated bank account details in the mail.

Hello Everyone, hope you enjoyed the long holiday. Please what exactly is going on with Stanbic Mutual Funds, I noticed that the interest rate is abysmally low right now. This is how they will be making someone eye Fairmoney with 15% interest rate! I dont even want to go near any microfinance bank. I am very risk averse which is why I chose mutual funds but what is all these stagnancy of interest rates?

How can everything be this expensive in Nigeria and interest rates be this low?

The money I have in mutual funds will give me a generous fetching somewhere else but I have been burnt twice investing with unscrupulous Nigerians and there will not be a third time.

Is there any hope of resurrection for mutual funds or I should just go and start POS business?

Please any luminary here should kindly help. Thanks

Currently TBills rates for all the tenors are down and the principal underlying asset of MMF is Tbills hence the low rate being experienced.

The economic realities calls for increase in interest rate but the CBN has its own mind. Let's watch may be at the next MPC meeting coming up this month of May it's possible rate will be be reviewed upward but for now you have to make do with what you have.

As you said if you are risk averse I will advice you stay with an investment that will put your mind at rest.

Think safety of funds before interest/gains more so low risk low returns and vice versa. The choice is yours.
