Justcul: The final destination of total automation of investors dividend payment started last year and it's Yielding fruits. We are waiting for all registrars to comply. Please If you have not submitted your update and kyc to your stockbroker do so otherwise you will not enjoy the service. Also make sure the name arrangement on your BVN is the same as the name you opened your stockbroking account with. Getting your dividend on company's payment date always feels good. 5 Likes |

Olaide1295: If you go through my previous posts you will understand that I have always stated it here that whatever has to do with dividend collection or payment is not the job of a stockbroking firm. It's between the investor, the company and the registrars. Registrars serves as the payment firm while the company is the source of the money. To get your dividend, complete the mandate form and submit to your bank or the registrar. However, for some broking firms, they add dividend collection processing to their additional services to customers which always comes with a cost. 1 Like |

Dum20: Yes when you go through investment house/financial institution you can buy with less than N50 million. |

Dum20: Each stockbroking or investment firm have their minimum deposit required from prospective Bond investor. It differs from one firm to the other. If you are to subscribe directly at the primary market you need N50 million. It's this amount ( N50m) involved that brought about FGN Savings bond which investors can subscribe with a minimum of 5k and maximum of N50 million because many Nigerians can't afford N50 million. |

netzro: Going by regulatory procedures, all monies for a particular investment must be brought in with the same currency denomination of that investment, any other arrangement is peculiar to that investment house and you will need to engage them on that. For Investment one, to invest in VDF - Vantage dollar fund, you must bring in your dollars by transfer. Naira is not accepted for dollar mutual fund and vice versa 1 Like |

Curiouscity: Note that anything that has to do with dividend is between the registrars, the company and the investor. The only time your stockbroker is involved is when you decide to get your signature specimen to the registrar through them completing a transfer form which the broker will sent to cscs on your behalf and cscs in turn will send to the registrars involved before you can send your mandate to the registrar. Payment of dividend is not dependent on the stockbroker you bought your stock with. However, some Brokers will take up the services of helping clients recover unclaimed dividend- that is additional service and usually with a cost. Please note I'm not making case for meristem, neither do I work there. I'm just giving what is obtainable as per usual practice in the industry. 5 Likes |

moneymanager: I don't think so. It's because GTCO was markdown today hence the drastic reduction in price. If Zenith was to be markdown today it will be in the same region. By Monday when Zenith is markdown they will almost be at par. The battle will be for a long time except one of them do something differently on the positive to get clear leadership as per price. 10 Likes |

Mpeace: Today is closure date for GTCO, if you buy today you are not qualified for the dividend, only investors' name on the register on or before yesterday which is the qualification date that can get dividend. The day of closure of register is by 12am of that day hence market opens with ex-div price. If the closure date is a range, by the first day it's effected. Let's be well guided. 2 Likes |

gabscity: All stockbrokers or financial institutions are just agent to the FGN for the collection of subscriptions from investing public that is all. Information from them are the same they will receive from the DMO which you can also get in the public space. Allotment will be done by the issuer and you get the evidence in your cscs account after allotment. The allotment will also be made public just as the subscription. After the allotment, you can check your cscs online if you subscribe to CSCS Plc or ask your stockbroker to send your cscs statement. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Heishere: Expect this type of bonus from companies who will opt for non cancelation of unissued shares between now and December this year as directed by regulators Presco took the lead and now NPFMFB. For companies with sound fundamentals, it will be a good experience for the shareholders as long as they are able to keep increasing their earnings. 1 Like |

ucvin: From your post it shows you've got no investment strategy in place. If you continue this way the market may look like gambling. Whether trading or long term you need to do some analysis at least basic fundamentals of any stock you are interested in, that will give you reason to buy, sell or hold. The first step is to have investment objective For instance if you are a long term investor there is no need of panic because a stock loss just in one day trade when the fundamentals of that stock is still intact. Most times price movement doesn't bother a long term investor a dip is always an opportunity to buy more if there is cash. Also understand what real loss/gain and paper loss/gain means. It's good to listen or read what others say about a stock but as always adviced by good analyst and following best investment practice always do your due diligence. Don't be in a hurry, you can't make all the money in a twinkling of an eye. If a stock gain or loss try to understand why this will give you reason to stay, move away or or enter more. I remembered a situation where an investor started panicing as he saw a stock lost heavily on a particular day only for him to find out that it was the day the stock was markdown to give effect to the corporate action of the company. The company in question declared dividend and bonus and that drag down the price on that day. If not that knowledge he could develop high BP for nothing. Getting to understand what you are into could also help. Try and understand basic operations and behavior of the market. Then keep this in mind Rule No. 1 don't lose money Rule No. 2 don't forget rule No. 1 - Warren Buffet. 14 Likes |

Biafran4life: Market is not irrational its action is based on expectation. If the market expects some level of performance and the company goes below that expectation it will bashed, the sector also determines as well as the current state of the company, market normally have good sentiments towards a company coming out of the woods. Imagine if Zenith bank pays N1, Wapco N1 and FBN 70kobo. I'm sure Zenith will be bashed while Wapco will be appreciated of course FBN will be taken to the sky in terms of price, that is market for you with a mind of its own. 3 Likes |
