I never filled or submitted any e-dividend forms, yet, Cutix credited my account in the last dividend payout. I bought through Morgan Capital grin

The final destination of total automation of investors dividend payment started last year and it's Yielding fruits.
We are waiting for all registrars to comply.

Please If you have not submitted your update and kyc to your stockbroker do so otherwise you will not enjoy the service.

Also make sure the name arrangement on your BVN is the same as the name you opened your stockbroking account with.

Getting your dividend on company's payment date always feels good.

Meristem will be great if they can automate dividend payment.
They charge 500 Naira and I still have to fill forms before dividends are paid

If you go through my previous posts you will understand that I have always stated it here that whatever has to do with dividend collection or payment is not the job of a stockbroking firm. It's between the investor, the company and the registrars.
Registrars serves as the payment firm while the company is the source of the money.

To get your dividend, complete the mandate form and submit to your bank or the registrar.

However, for some broking firms, they add dividend collection processing to their additional services to customers which always comes with a cost.

Emma thanks,

I need more understanding.

But the minimium for Treasury Bills is 50 million but people are able to buy with even 500k.

Does it mean that people with N1 million will not be able to buy FGN bonds in the primary market as well as secondary market?

Yes when you go through investment house/financial institution you can buy with less than N50 million.

Hello Gurus in the house,

Please i need a confirmation on FGN Bonds in the secondary and primary market.

I went to my broker they said the FGN Bonds for secondary market the minimum amount they can subscribe is N5 Million. Same thing with primary market. I want to confirm if that is true.

Each stockbroking or investment firm have their minimum deposit required from prospective Bond investor. It differs from one firm to the other. If you are to subscribe directly at the primary market you need N50 million.

It's this amount ( N50m) involved that brought about FGN Savings bond which investors can subscribe with a minimum of 5k and maximum of N50 million because many Nigerians can't afford N50 million.

Good evening fam

I want to move from Stanbic IBTC MMF to their Dollar fund, my question is the initial deposit of $1000 what rate will be used?

Can I effect the change directly on the app?

Any other advice.

Thanks

Going by regulatory procedures, all monies for a particular investment must be brought in with the same currency denomination of that investment, any other arrangement is peculiar to that investment house and you will need to engage them on that.

For Investment one, to invest in VDF - Vantage dollar fund, you must bring in your dollars by transfer. Naira is not accepted for dollar mutual fund and vice versa

You see why I am tempted to say they only work with clients who have huge funds with them.
I bought my 1st set of shares with Meristem 7 years ago. One of them is UBA. I have have not collected any UBA dividend for these years. In 2019 I started complaining via emails, filled e-mandates forms many times. Nothing changed. They sometimes forget about my email, till I send a reminder.
I bought Diamond Bank in 2018. When Access Bank acquired Diamond, I was to get 10k cash and my stocks converted to Access bank's. Till today I have not seen the cash and didn't get any explanation except I should submit e-mandate form that I already did. I only recently got my Access dividends of past years few weeks ago.
You see? Our experiences are as wide apart as the North and South poles

Note that anything that has to do with dividend is between the registrars, the company and the investor. The only time your stockbroker is involved is when you decide to get your signature specimen to the registrar through them completing a transfer form which the broker will sent to cscs on your behalf and cscs in turn will send to the registrars involved before you can send your mandate to the registrar.

Payment of dividend is not dependent on the stockbroker you bought your stock with.
However, some Brokers will take up the services of helping clients recover unclaimed dividend- that is additional service and usually with a cost.

Please note I'm not making case for meristem, neither do I work there. I'm just giving what is obtainable as per usual practice in the industry.

Good day sir. Please I have a friend who does not have an active Nigerian passport (but an active foreign one), and has no BVN. Can he open an investment account with Investment One? Or any other reputable stockbroker?
I am not sure if opening a CSCS account would come with some hurdles, given this situation.
Thank you, and I would appreciate any helpful information from any member of the forum too.

The ID can be notarized and used, the issue will be BVN. It's a SEC stipulated rule. For any investment account to be opened for an investor in Nigeria, the BVN is a compulsory requirement.

By regulatory standards it should not go beyond 31st March. However, the CBN is a determining factor when it comes to the release of any Bank audited financial report.

The battle for number one position is over undecided

I don't think so. It's because GTCO was markdown today hence the drastic reduction in price. If Zenith was to be markdown today it will be in the same region. By Monday when Zenith is markdown they will almost be at par. The battle will be for a long time except one of them do something differently on the positive to get clear leadership as per price.

On the bolded, how much does it cost to get CSCS statement from one's stockbroker

Absolutely free. Send a mail to request any time you need the document and it will be sent without any cost.

However, for some of them if you are in their physical office and request for a hardcopy of your statement you will be requested to pay for the print out.

You ought to, but the way some registrars operate, i doubt if they will have your name on their records today, as to qualify you for dividends. I am aware of someone who is currently preparing to sue afriprud should having failed to receive dividends despite buying his ucap on the 4th, before the qualification date of 8th.
If you buy today ensure u communicate the registrars.
I bought Ucap on qualification day, called them repeatedly to ensure the processed my edividend mandate. They requested my cscs statement (which i sent) as they claimed their records did not show i had UCAP

Today is closure date for GTCO, if you buy today you are not qualified for the dividend, only investors' name on the register on or before yesterday which is the qualification date that can get dividend. The day of closure of register is by 12am of that day hence market opens with ex-div price.
If the closure date is a range, by the first day it's effected.
Let's be well guided.

All stockbrokers or financial institutions are just agent to the FGN for the collection of subscriptions from investing public that is all. Information from them are the same they will receive from the DMO which you can also get in the public space.

Allotment will be done by the issuer and you get the evidence in your cscs account after allotment.
The allotment will also be made public just as the subscription. After the allotment, you can check your cscs online if you subscribe to CSCS Plc or ask your stockbroker to send your cscs statement.

Leaks/Rumors is part of the world market but based on my 3 years of observation so far, leaks/rumors almost never happen on the NSE.

Nothing is known until that person in charge of uploads on NGX website shows up to work lol.

For the fact that you didn't hear doesn't mean there is no rumors/leaks.

Expect this type of bonus from companies who will opt for non cancelation of unissued shares between now and December this year as directed by regulators

For companies with sound fundamentals, it will be a good experience for the shareholders as long as they are able to keep increasing their earnings.

Hi Everyone! It's a sad day for me. I panicked and sold all my Total oil share at 245. I bought it at 262 two weeks ago. Lost over 800,000 today.
I was also tempted to sell NB but somehow got restrained from selling.
NSE no go give me BP.

From your post it shows you've got no investment strategy in place. If you continue this way the market may look like gambling.

Whether trading or long term you need to do some analysis at least basic fundamentals of any stock you are interested in, that will give you reason to buy, sell or hold.

The first step is to have investment objective
For instance if you are a long term investor there is no need of panic because a stock loss just in one day trade when the fundamentals of that stock is still intact. Most times price movement doesn't bother a long term investor a dip is always an opportunity to buy more if there is cash.
Also understand what real loss/gain and paper loss/gain means.

It's good to listen or read what others say about a stock but as always adviced by good analyst and following best investment practice always do your due diligence.

Don't be in a hurry, you can't make all the money in a twinkling of an eye.

If a stock gain or loss try to understand why this will give you reason to stay, move away or
or enter more.

I remembered a situation where an investor started panicing as he saw a stock lost heavily on a particular day only for him to find out that it was the day the stock was markdown to give effect to the corporate action of the company. The company in question declared dividend and bonus and that drag down the price on that day. If not that knowledge he could develop high BP for nothing.

Getting to understand what you are into could also help. Try and understand basic operations and behavior of the market.

Then keep this in mind
Rule No. 1 don't lose money
Rule No. 2 don't forget rule No. 1
- Warren Buffet.

Lol. Not making case for The Elephant o......but just trying to see the bank from the point of efforts being made to stay alive and striving to improve on their performances.
If Elephant continues this way, I want to believe that it won't take so long to return to her original position.

You are correct. In fact the wahala they faced is even more than what is reported to the public. The elephant is indeed strong.

This market can be irrational. Pz declared #.25 @#7.00 and APR declared #.50 @#7 plus and is receiving bashing. That means Apr tried oh

Market is not irrational its action is based on expectation. If the market expects some level of performance and the company goes below that expectation it will bashed, the sector also determines as well as the current state of the company, market normally have good sentiments towards a company coming out of the woods. Imagine if Zenith bank pays N1, Wapco N1 and FBN 70kobo.

I'm sure Zenith will be bashed while Wapco will be appreciated of course FBN will be taken to the sky in terms of price, that is market for you with a mind of its own.
