OsiEnterprise4: Thanks once again sir/ma. Does it matter if the proof of funds is in my personal or business account as I intend to use both bank statements, however, majority of the funds is in my business account and I only move funds from there into my personal account that I use for my daily expenses. I heard they have preference for personal bank statements as they might be of the opinion that I am using my business funds to fund a family trip. How true is that? I don't want to transfer some funds into my personal account for the purpose of applying for the visa only for the embassy to term such an action as "cash lodgement for the purpose of facilitating a visa" like the UK embassy normally does since I'm thinking of splitting the funds between both accounts. Please, I need your guidance in this aspect so I won't make any costly mistake. Thanks in anticipation. |

Good day everyone, Please, how do I go about requesting for my passport from the UKVI as its been over 6 weeks that I applied and yet to get a response from them. The other time I called, I was told that my case was awaiting a decision and that it would be ascalated but the thing is I need the passport for something urgent and important. How do I go about this and after making the request, how long does it take before I can get it? I even paid a courier fee on the day I went for my biometrics so the passport could be delivered at my doorstep. 1 Like |

Hello everyone, So my family and I are applying for a France visa and I am the one sponsoring the trip. My question is since we are applying together, do I have to give my partner my bank statement and still use the same bank statement for my own application or just a single bank statement suffices for the both applications? The reason for the question is that since she's an adult and she's completing a separate application form, I assume she would also need to submit some documents in support of her application of which the bank statement is one of them. How can we both use a single bank statement for the application or do I have to get 2 copies of the same bank statements? Gurus in the house should please advise. |

Peace505: Not necessarily. Maybe just stating she's single but previously married, however, adding the decree absolute document (assuming the claim of being married previously wasn't a sham to facilitate the issuance of the US visa) would also clear any doubt incase they run a check on her with the US embassy. |
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by esdajo: 4:48pm On Oct 18, 2021 |
She should be honest as possible because the 5 Eyes (of which the UK and the US are both members) do share data of applicants among themselves. If she is now single, she should claim such with evidence of being divorced from her previous marriage since she claimed she was married when she applied for a US visa, however long that was. Don't mess around with these embassies as they will find out from each other what she had filled on a previous application even if she now has a new passport as the previous passport number would be quoted on the new one anyways. Good day everyone, When applying for a France visitor’s visa as a family unit, must everyone book separate appointments and fill separate visa forms? I mean, do I have to book separate appointments for my underage kids and fill separate visa forms for each and every one of them? Your response would be appreciated. |

Williegh: No, I think it’s everywhere. A friend of mine who also applied for a standard visitor’s visa from Berlin, Germany is yet to get a feedback as well. Tomorrow will make it the 4th week, that is 28th day he did his biometrics. I for one, I applied on September 6th here in Lagos and I am yet to get a feedback too. 1 Like |

Larned colleague, kindly take out items 14 and 21. 14 most especially cos it would cast an aura of doubt on your intended trip. Item 14 is not really necessary since they can verify if you have been vaccinated using the information on the Vaccination card but its all up to you if you think it the embassy would attach any weight to it. Good day everyone. Please, my wife and kids intend to visit France for the Christmas holidays for a period of 20 days and I have the following questions: 1. Can they apply now being first time travelers or are applications only opened to frequent travelers? 2. I am the one sponsoring the trip so I would like to know if I should transfer the fund to my wife's account or just write a cover letter explaining that I am one the financing the trip whilst including my wife's and I bank statements plus evidence of trading as I am a business person and shes a teacher? 3. How do I get valid itinerary and hotel reservations for the trip without paying for them? Any website where I can have all these done at once? 4. As for the requirement of "Reservation confirmation of an organised trip or any other document describing the planned programme", how do I prove this? Is reserving booked tours enough or I have to explain in detail what trips they intend to embark on during their stay? 5. Most importantly, is there a requirement of 10 days for quarantine upon landing in France? Your answers would be greatly appreciated. |

Beverlyhills: Yes you are right but I think they might want to believe I want to stylishly bring them over to Germany never to return home since I have been there for over 6 years, hence going the France route cos Germany is very strict with visa issuance. |

Happy Sunday everyone, I intend to apply for a France visitior's visa for my family (my partner and 3 kids) for the Xmas and New Year celebrations but I don't know how to go about it. I am a student in Germany with a residence titile to that effect so I do not need a visa and I am the one sponsoring the trip and would also be going with them on the trip. However, since I won't be applying for a visa with them, would there be any need to include copies of my residence and work permits in Germany as part of the application documents? Will doing so be counter-productive? (e.g embassy might think I want to abscond with them perhaps). Secondly, since I am the sole sponsor, would there be any need to include my partner's bank statements in addition to mine as I am self-employed here and I have all my business registration documents plus receipts and invoices for business activities intact and a reasonable amount of money in my business account? Last but not the least, is there a portion on the visa application form where the amount budgetted for the trip would be indicated and if YES, what would be the appropriate amount to indicate from my disposable income? Is it 2.5 like that of the UK? Gurus in the house should please help a brother. Thanks in advance. |

Ekarl: I think it will pop up, most likely because the so-called 5 EYES (UK, USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand) all share data among themselves. It may make it appear as though you are desperate if they find out that you have a pending application before another embassy. You can google the 5-EYES and get more information about their mode of operation with regard to data sharing. |

Good evening everyone in the house, the Gurus most especially. So, I have finally prepared all the documents for submission next Monday and they are as follows: 1. Kids' birth certificates and school fees receipts. 2. 6 family pictures printed in coloured on an A4. 3. Property document of the flat we live in and the receipt and registration papers of my vehicle. 4. CAC registration documents and Certificate of Incorporation. 5. Business account statement with substantial amount plus a letter of reference from the bank that I am the sole signatory. 6. Personal account for most of my expenses with a balance of 205k. 7. Another personal account with 1.49 Mil that I hardly touch cos I use the account with 205k balance almost daily. 8. German residence and work permit. 9. Admisison letter from my current institution in Germany. 10. Previous refusal letter. 11. A cover letter addressing all the issues in the previous refusal letter with proofs to back everything up. 12. Professional certificate from Germany and the LL.M certificate from my previous graduate program in Germany 13. Invoices and receipts regarding my business here. I had indicated on the visa application form that my budget for the trip is 2,000 Pounds and the exchange rate of that on Oanda as at today is 1,131,060 Naira. I hope these documents are okay and if I need to remove and/or anything to it, please kindly advise as I am very nervous. Na beg I dey beg o my gurus. |

Thanks for your contributions thus far. I wish to paste a copy of the refusal letter from my previous application here for a better understanding of my situation: REASONS FOR REFUSAL NRA v 1.0 You have applied for a visa to visit the UK. In deciding whether you meet the requirements of Appendix V: of the Immigration Rules for visitors (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-v-visitor- rules), I have considered: • your application and any additional relevant information you have provided with it • your immigration history The decision I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph(s) 4.2 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for Visitors because: You have applied for permission to enter the UK to visit for 4 days for tourism. You state that you are a student and are also self-employed earning 6240.00 EUR (£5,347.55 at Oanda exchange rate of 05/07/2021) per year. However, whilst you have provided letters in support of your studies, the documents you have provided do not demonstrate your claimed level of income or self-employment. You state you have an additional source of income from your business in Nigeria, however again, the documents provided do not demonstrate this. You have provided bank statements with a closing balance on 31/05/2021 of 6,712.24 EUR (£5,752.25), however I note that this balance is not consistent with the history of your account. The statement shows a large deposit of 7,800 EUR (£6,684.44) made on 03/05/2021. It therefore appears that there has been a recent uplift in your funds. The documents you have provided do not demonstrate the origin of these funds. I am therefore not satisfied that they are genuinely available to you for your exclusive use or that they have not been deposited solely to facilitate you obtaining a visa. Furthermore, currently there is a quarantine period of 10 days for international travellers arriving in the UK from Germnay. The documents and information submitted in your application do not indicate that you are exempted from this quarantine requirement. Furthermore, I note you intend to travel to the UK for only 4 days, and your application does not indicate that you are aware of this quarantine requirement, or intend to comply with these restrictions. I am not satisfied that a genuine first time visitor would not research and plan their trip prior to making arrangements for travel, such as making a visa application, particularly amid the current worldwide disruptions on travel. In view of this, I am not satisfied that your proposed travel for the sole purpose of a 4 day holiday is reasonable or credible. Given all of the above, I am not satisfied that your circumstances are as stated. I am not satisfied as to your intentions for visiting the UK, that you are a genuine visitor or that you will leave at the end of the period specified by you. I therefore refuse your application under paragraphs V4.2 (a) and (c) of the United Kingdom Immigration Rules. I am also not satisfied that you will have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable personal costs yourself without working or accessing public funds. I therefore refuse your application under paragraph 4.2 (e) of Appendix V of the United Kingdom Immigration Rules. NEXT STEPS NRA v 1.0 In relation to this decision, there is no right of appeal or right to administrative review. I have prepared a cover letter addressing all the concerns of the ECO in my previous application most especially as it relates to the proof of self employment and the funds accruing from it. The said business is here in Nigeria and for this, I am attaching my company registraion documents, receipts and invoices and bank statements where the funds for my business are paid into...two accounts actually, a corporate and a personal account and I move funds between both. Furthermore, I also intend to attach another personal bank statement that has nothing to do with my business so it wont appear as though I am using my business funds for the trip even though I am the sole signatory to the business account and I have a balance of 1.4 Mil in the third personal account with no recent activity aside a withdrawal of 150k upon my return last month since I am not always around. However, for the first two accounts, there are lots of transactions since they are used for business. Hope the 3 bank statements wont be too much. Lastly, do I need to go get an income tax clearance certificate for my business and add to the documents since British people don't joke with tax payment? This is the only question that is yet to be answered on this forum as I dont want to complicate things and at the same time, I know these people can pick on anything to refuse someone a visa which is exactly what I am trying to avoid here. For those who have applied and gotten their visas as self-employed should shed more light on the tax clearance certificate thing if its really an important document in the visa application process or its something that has little or no weight attached to it by the ECO. Thanks in anticipation and God bless. |

Thanks for the tips. However, as for the tax clearance aspect, I only have a business here in Nigeria and not in Germany, so I was wondering if there is really any need for me to include a tax clearance from IRS showing I have been paying tax or I should not bother going to get the document at all if they are not to keen on that. Please, advise. |

I was just wondering if they would frown that the documents are too much because I have to ensure that I back every single claim up with a document or sets of documents in order to avoid any further refusals which won't be good for me at all. Hi everyone, I was refused a U.K visitor's visa in July when I applied from Germany as I am a graduate student there and one of the reasons was because I indicated I only wanted to spend 4 days in the U.K, not minding the 10 days quarantine period. The other reason was with a large deposit in my German bank account. Now I want to reapply from Nigeria in September since I am home on holidays. I have prepared a cover letter addressing all three concerns of the ECO regarding my previous application with evidence to back up each point I made. Secondly, I have tons of documents ranging from property ownership documents to business related documents such as bills of lading, payment receipts, etc as I own an importation business here and also school fees receipts for my kids, their birth certificates and my academic and professional credentials as well. My questions are as follows: 1. Are there limits to what documents I can submit at the VAC on the day of my appointment? As the documents I have gathered so far are up to 40 pages and more are still to come. Is this acceptable? 2. I move monies between my personal and business accounts as payments are sometimes made into my personal account from where I transfer back to my business account which is solely operated by me. I made reference to this in my cover letter together with proof of being the sole operator of both accounts, most especially the business account with proof of a check (front and back) I issued and signed alone moving some money into my personal account from my business account. I intend to submit both bank statements so they can see the movements of monies between both accounts. Is it okay this way? 3. Do I also need to go get a tax clearance certificate to add to the list of documents I will be submitting or can I do away with that? I was told by an agent that I don't need it. How true is this? Please, I need your imputs as it would go a long way in helping me do it right this time around. Lest I forget. I have been to the U.S twice in the past without overstaying and been living in Germany for over 6 years. I only visit home to spend time with my family as most of my trips are to Nigeria as indicated on the entry/exit stamps on my passport pages, both old and the new one. Please I need a response as I am submitting my application next week. Thanks for your contributions in advance. |
