some years back, i happened upon a powerful mind trick it goes something like this: if half of nigerians where like me, how would the country be like? this made me desire to improve myself i soon improved on this inquisitive logic for a better national and cultural appreciation with reasoning and scenario visualization in the line of: 1) if all nigerians moved to america, and all americans moved to nigeria, what woul be the impact? 2) if we exchanged only leaders, i.e jonathan, and them tambuwal and tinubu go lead america, while them Obama and the republican bucaneers came over to Nigeria.... what would be the impact? Moving a goat from nigeria to america does not change it character. It only changes its name to American goat |

To further nail my confidence in jonathan's comparative honesty, i believe that if he is lined up with past leaders of states and the country hw would be closer to the bottom index. I mean, imagine weighing jonathans personal corruption level against those of folks like Babangida, Atiku, Abacha, Tinubu, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Ibori,. I am sure for jonathan, the scale would read: "weightless. Please add more points to reach the level of your mates" *i have not mentioned Obasanjo, because i feel he is a peculiar case. He is unable to differentiate nigeria's money from his. he can easily sign a cheque for a girl to buy a car from Nigeria's Soverieign Wealth fund", and see nothing wrong with it. He acts almot like a baby. The others however, are very concious of what they are doing, and try to hide their acts |
![]() |
Why do i say this? just like tambunwal alluded to jonathans body language encouraging corruption so i allude to his body language washing his own hands off it Also, despite how critisized he his, and how many leaks around him there has never been a story of him stealing money in the Nigerian way It is very obvious that one of the ways he has decided to enrich himself without having issues with a future audit is by frequent international travels. I believe that the estacodes he collects from such travels runs into 10,s of millions I wont be surprised if the total sum is past a billion now. |

..........it all depends on the definition of corruption what quite a number of nigerians take as sharp, you might hear the brits and yanks through their news channels like BBC and CNN describe as corruption For example, that guy that did the sign language thing during Mandela's funeral, is what a number of us will laugh at and exclaim: "Badtest guy!!" However, the western press use him to demontrate the continuous decline of south Africa into the deeper waters of corruptionunder the ANC So, we do have various and different conceptions of corruption and in western country standards, Jonathan might be called a thief But using the generally accepted perception for corruption in nigeria I do not believe that jonathan can be accused of being a thief he does not lift a finger to discourage folks around him from stealing but he his himself a "saint" |

^^^ there is no shame in feeling ashamed of ones own country and even denying it it all depends on what the country stands for a teenager will easily deny to his friends that the village drunkard who passes out in the gutter everyday is his father he might also wish him dead that this humiliating cup might pass away |

He considers Jonathan as a weak man from a weak tribe and sees no qualms in calling for and demanding his exit If he Obasanjo wanted an extra term above his 2 terms, how does he expect any other person not to want 2 terms? Despite the internal arrangement by PDP for power rotation, the fact remains that anyone who had Jonathan' oppurtunity would grab it by both hands and distrort the arrangement. Atiku would have done the same, so would Tinubu Obj feels that just like he did during Murtala's regime where he stuck to the handover plan despite the death of Murtala Jonathan should follow suit i cannot seperate the messangr from the message i am already aware that Jonathan is a weak leader without a vision for Nigeria I really dont need Obj becoming the cheerleader for the removal of the gift he bequeathed us If i have to let my girlfriend go because of her unfaithfulness I really wont like Obj the notorious one to be the one screwing her after me Conclusion I wouldnt take obj' letter as a point of reference for Jonathan ineptitude if I were you other points of references abound 1 Like |

I have heard it said concerning obj's letter that the messanger should be seperated from the message. I dey laugh If someone that you are aware desires to shag your girfriend or wife comes over to you with a terrible story about your wife ..how will you react? Seperate the messanger from the message? Indeed, the person's story might be correct, but the goal is clear. It is for you to dump her so that he can shag her This is the dilema that we now face. Obasanjo somehow sees Nigeria as his child and creation. He wants it back from Jonathan He wants to give Nigeria to a new suitor. this is the objective of his letter. That is why it is mixed with lies and truths Obasanjo also lacks respect for minorities he considers them as weak and subject to brawn hence he could attack Odi and Zaki biam and humiliate the Igbos during his tenure He only responds to strengths hence he stepped aside when the Nothern North of Nigeria mutilated the constitution to usher in Sharia |

And yes, I put myself atop the hill and waited for him to light me up as the storms of life ravished me and sought to put me down my spirit man became even more stubborn and more ambitious i no longer wanted hills, ....i wanted mountains He did light me up ..just at the nick of time he redefined my story beyond what i even imagined With quivering fingers, I type this "Thanks my big brother and friend, ...when do we hit the next mountain?" He whispers: "Patience, young man. Catch your breadth. The wind will fetch you at the appropriate time. ...........we've got loads of blank pages to fill in your book of life" |

It came to me softly, but yet forcefully the words of jesus as recorded in the bible It said: "you do not light a lamp and keep it under a bed...nope you light the lamp and put it atop a hill so that all men might see and give glory to your father in heaven" this was not the first time i was encountering this verse. In my sunbeam children church class, we were taught that it means that we should do good bUt this time, it seeped into me differntly it was as Jesus telling me: "You're my lamp. the way that you can be of value to me is if i push you out unto the public. Then, will my light in you be conspicous for all men to see and bring glory to me ....Yep, your'e extremely imperfect, but that's the best place to start for better effect" I meditated on this for a while, and then decided to do as I was asked...timidly with warts, moles and all. 1 Like |

Pastor Oyakhilome discussing about women and skimpy clothes gave an intersting thought "it is not the women with the issue, but the onlooker who can't keep his eyes off" Jonathan is not the weak one (although he is weak) we are the weak ones (reference to a commentator -Ajanlekoko) The 'opposition' has a chance to claim the presidency but the greatest disservice that they will do to their strategy is if they approach it as bullies of the 'weak' president ...i might be weak, but when you rub it in and make a mockery of my weakness you'll get the most venomous fatal snake bite you could ever imagine .......go ask women who thought that their husbands were weak, and said it to his face |

The governors are now also learning their lessons I hope that Jonathan concludes that mess As for the opposition yep, opposition is great. But you must come to equity with clean hands Not when you refuse to be challenged, and are an emperor in your own domain, then you go to someone else's domain to challenge him I laughhhhhhhhh, ...the laughter of someone setting a bait bullies only respect one thing -quashing The nigerian federal structure allows for this |

this also holds true for a number of NairaLanders and youths who felt that they put weak jonathan in power so they brazenly staged an Arab styled demonstration to protest the fuel price hike they were drunk with power, and cajoled by some political fools who wouldn't dare try it in some other hostile regime. (** i respect those who fight no matter what, whether na Abacha , not those sneaky rats**) They felt that Jonathan from a small small tribe, stereotyped as drunken (in even serious minded discussions) was a weakling. (**he probably is**) Humans have a way of piling up bullying when the sense that you are weak Jonathan reluctantly realised this he got the military in to quash the uprising Then the people switched from calling him weak they began to call him wicked and clueless |

The man was labelled as weak,... very weak the governors made nyanga for him before letting him have his rightly deserved political power (prior to his election) As is typical of king makers, the governors felt that the president was their football to be kicked around the same king maker syndrome affected Chris Ubah when he was humiliating Ngige he installed as a governor Unfortunately for some of the governors, the president threw off their yoke this has greatly vexed them,... seeing small, weak jonathan challenge them |

I am someone that is very laid back, and so easily defined as being 'weak' this suits me fine, as it gives me an opportunity to relax and watch some folks trying hard to use my head while I discover their weakness.. (my frontal desposition all depends on what i desire to acheive) With my characteristics, i think that i am able to understand president GEJ who was previously declared as weak, but is now being labelled as wicked and dictatorial |

^^ why dont you ask ajanlekoko if the job he advertised is one that would have a long future ask him the rates for different skill levels for the job Speak with him passionately about it (not desperately) if you find it attractive, you can see a future in it, and you look like the job role* you probably cld practice and strengthen the skills (not certification) needed for AJ's job while still maintaing your present job and regularly keeping in touch with AJ You probably would be very competent in AJ's desired skills in some 365 days time i think this is what is described as mentoring ......just my thoughts ..(I've taken actions like this before, and it worked for me) * i said 'look like' because some job requirements or mentors require some kind of minimum finese from their candidates |

Anyone with ideas on how a Nigerian can obtain schloraships for a phd in business research? (one not geared to only graduates with 1st class) |

Anyone with ideas on how a Nigerian can obtain scholarships for a phd? The limitations are: -the potential candidate did not make a 1st class -the potential candidate is interested in researching a business subject, particulary in information techology |

GeneralShepherd: How do you expect people to hold a meaningful discussion on an imaginary drug? We haven't finished dealing with our imaginary gods! I think imaginations are good stimulating intellectual excercise o offcourse, people that are suffering might find it hard to imagine further than their bellies But thank God for you and I, ...we have food, and we can eat besides, everything that is (both tangible and intangible) is a product of someone's imagination i am sure you're aware of this |
![]() |
I know that modern day xtians are quick to rebuke science's desire to defy death ..but just imagine for one minute, that science does find a way of preventing death by regenerating our tissues -imagine that the drug has been tested successfully by someone who is now 1500 years old -imagine that the drug is a limited edition, which for the next 80 years, can only be administered to no more than 3000 people globally The question is: 1) would you take it? 2) Would you wait for your pastor to take it first before you do? 3) Would you rather die so that you will be with God in heaven? 3) Would you be in a hurry to wage jihad and take your life for what is on the other side? **quickly grabs his own from the shelf** ![]() |

![]() Many years ago, i read about how the christian establishment in early times fought against the adoption of pain killers for women during child birth They believed that God's will was that women suffer during childbirth as a punishment for Eve's sin ...of course, that believe no longer holds water in mainstream xtian views infact now from the pulpit, the desire for painless birth by women is supported wholesale So you and your MOG are now quick to proclaim": "may you give birth as easilly as the israelite women" |

I enjoy working with spreadsheets, so i had the chance to do some calculations on some bible ideas that i have nursed for a long time now. You can refer to the book of Genesis chapter 1 to 7 to follow my thougths Here are some interesting calculated facts surrounding the flood: 1) Metusalleh died in the year of the flood at the age of 969, while Noah his grandson was 600 yrs old (read genesis5:25-28, genesis 7: 6) That means that it is possible that the flood killed Metusalah or that he died days or months before the flood 2) If Metusalleh was buried in the earth as against being buried in a cave or cremated, that means his decomposing body would have been washed up by the waters of the flood and probably feasted on by fishes 3) Noahs brothers and sisters also died in the flood (see Genesis 5: 30). The flood probably killed his mum if she were still alive |
