PRESS RELEASE
8th March, 2010
Presbyterian Moderator Warns Against Full War in Jos

The Moderator of the General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Ubon Bassey Usung, has warned that the recurring ethno-religious crisis in Jos, Plateau State, if not checked immediately, might snowball into a full-blown war.

The Moderator was speaking following reports of renewed violence in which armed bandits attacked three communities in Shen village of Jos South Local Government Area, killing many innocent lives, dislocating many families, inflicting heavy casualties and destroying property worth millions of naira.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Usung strongly condemned the attack which was carried out on unsuspecting villagers and called for a high-powered Conflict Resolution Committee to check the ugly recurrence of violence and bloodshed in that area. He said the Committee should be made up of leaders of the Christian and Muslim religions, Government and community chiefs and security agencies made up of a special task force whose membership should cut across religious and State lines. The Committee should be able to preach peace among the members of the various communities and religions in the area and nip any crisis in the bud.

The Church leader was shocked to note that the attackers were armed with sophisticated arms and ammunitions and suspected highly-placed Nigerians whom he said must have sponsored the crisis. Rt. Rev. Usung called on the Government to stop on nothing to expose the sponsors and punish all the culprits accordingly.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / The High-profile Clash Between Inter Milan And Chelsea Fc by EVABORE: 5:39pm On Mar 11, 2010
The high-profile clash between Inter Milan and Chelsea FC is one of the most anticipated encounters of Champions League knockout round. The first leg of the last 16 tie between the Nerazzuri and the Blues in Stadio Giuseppe Meazza promises to be a soccer spectacle with some of the best players in the game showcased against one another and for the side that takes the stranglehold in this first instalment it would be huge. Inter Milan will attempt to do this. This stage is ill omened, as the Italians have lost in the last 16 for the last three seasons. They want to avoid that fate and more importantly, they are determined to do so this time. Taking the significant lead in on home patch would set them up well for the return leg at Stamford Bridge.

That said, sometimes fate will not be sidestepped. Chelsea (specifically Abramovich) have been thirsting for Champions League glory. Losing in the last 16 is not on their agenda. They will play a concentrated game against the Italians and poach opportunities when they can. They will not however risk everything in Milan as they have the advantage of closing the series on home soil, for more visite. www.freejokonline..com
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Na Wa Ohhh Manchester United Wan Kill Ac Milan by EVABORE: 3:16pm On Mar 11, 2010
ROME — AC Milan insists that its humbling 4-0 loss to Manchester United won't affect its performance in Serie A, where it has moved within four points of leader Inter Milan.

The shutout in England that ousted Milan from the Champions League was Milan's worst performance in Europe in six years, since getting beat 4-0 by Deportivo La Coruna in the 2004 quarterfinals.

Milan president and Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi reportedly shut off his TV after Wayne Rooney put United ahead with his second goal a minute into the second half.

The Gazzetta dello Sport's front-page headline Thursday read, "Once upon a time there was Milan."

Milan's next game is against mid-table Chievo Verona on Sunday.

"The defeat will not have repercussions on the league," Milan coach Leonardo said. "There are 11 games remaining and we've got to stay focused on those."

However, Milan has injury worries after key defender Alessandro Nesta was ruled out from playing the United game shortly before kickoff due to a right knee problem that could be another serious blow to Nesta's injury-riddled career.

Nesta's replacement, Daniele Bonera, injured his calf and was removed at halftime, prompting Leonardo to move Massimo Ambrosini back from midfield to defense. Striker Alexandre Pato also did not play in Manchester but is nearly ready to return from a hamstring injury.

Inter visits Catania on Friday ahead of its return-leg Champions League game with Chelsea on Tuesday.

With Walter Samuel suspended, Marco Materazzi could return in defense alongside Lucio, with Ivan Cordoba an option at left back. Midfielder Esteban Cambiasso is also set to return after a two-game ban.

Catania is coached by Sinisa Mihajlovic, the former Inter player and assistant coach.

Mihajlovic said he has been bombarded by so many text messages from his former teammates and players this week that he has turned his phone off.

"I'll turn it back on after the game," Mihajlovic said.

Third-place AS Roma, which trails Inter by seven points, visits struggling Livorno, while fourth-place Palermo is at Udinese.

Juventus, which trails Palermo by two points in the hunt for the last Champions League spot, faced Fulham in the Europa League on Thursday before hosting last-place Siena on Sunday.

Juve edged Fiorentina 2-1 last weekend and the Tuscan club was ousted from the Champions League on Tuesday by Bayern Munich on away goals.

Fiorentina is still fuming over a first-leg goal from Miroslav Klose that appeared to be offside. Tied for 10th with Bari and Chievo, Fiorentina's chances of making it back into the Champions League next season are slim, for more news visite. www.freejokonline..com
