elbarond:I can't buy a new line either, my NIN need to be okay before I can buy a new line, I even asked them if I can do the NIN registration again and they said NO |
![]() |
MY fellow Nairalanders, I will like you guys to look into this matter and air your views based on your experience. I am unable to retrieve my SIM because MTN says that they are unable to view my image from the NIN (National Identification Number) database which I don't know why because I registered my NIN just like every other person. On the 10th of May, which is this month, I lost my phone to pocket pickers along with my 2 main lines MTN and Airtel. I rushed to the nearest MTN office to do welcome back which I spent the whole day struggling with other subscribers who came for the same time or probably for other things like NIN registration to be allowed inside. I later managed to get inside and did the welcome back, I waited for the right time to insect my SIM (2 hours) as recommended, when its time I inserted the SIM but nothing showed up. I used another number to call MTN 180 and they told me that the SIM retrieval failed, I asked why and they told me that the notice from their end was unable to view my NIN image. I returned to the MTN office the following day to find out myself and they told me the same thing. However, I was asked to go NIM office which I did immediately. When I got to the office they told me that they don't have a network but asked me to state my issue which I did and they wrote it down and asked me to return to MTN on the 18th of May to re-do the welcome back that everything will be fine before 18th. I went to the MTN office but after checking nothing worked, one of the MTN agents at the office decided to take charge of my case following my frequent visit to their office and decided to contact NIN on her own after a few conversations I was told to go home and return back on Thursday 20th May. Before coming back I contacted the MTN agent to ask if the issue has been resolved and she told me to come and do it that she has got a green light that the issue has been resolved and I went and did the welcome back for the 2nd time and it failed again. The bottom line now is that the welcome back has not been done and one of the NIM agents are requesting me to pay N7000 to correct the error. My questions are: 1. Why will I pay NIM to correct the error from their own end which is not in any way my fault? 2. Why will MTN use that as an excuse knowing well that it's not my fault, at least they should allow NIN to sorts out their problems since the subscriber in question is present and every other detail matched. 3. Do you think it's right for me to pay the 7000 Naira for NIM to Fix the Issue? Note: This is not about If I can afford it or not but I really don't get it, NIM didn't register my profile correctly and they want me to pay them to correct it, I don't really understand. If this is the case I don't see why Nigeria should be fighting crime because this is the real crime. 1 Like |

Please, my fellow bloggers and digital marketers, I have a serious question to ask because I am very angry right now. One of my partners sent a little dollar to my account through wire transfer on the 23rd of this month, on getting to my account I saw that $25 dollar was deducted from the money. I contacted the sender and he told me that they send the exact amount which they also sent me the receipt, now I had to contact my bank (GTB) and they said that it's offshore charges and that it's a new law from CBN. Please I am still confused right now, why will CBN issue such a law? Please share your experience if you have ever experienced something like that before because it also means that Google Adsense payment might be deducted too 1 Like 2 Shares |

Officialgarri: I guess you are buhuri brother because if you are from South East you will do the worst. They are just saying no to slavery is that too much to ask, when they used to lineup along the roads in South East agitating and begging the federal government to hear their cry nobody cares instead they will use the military to kill them like animals and you didn't complain, now you have mouth to tell what is wrong and what is right. I hate anyone who doesn't care about the injustice being done in Nigeria but always fast to defend the Government. You might be benefiting or feel okay on your own but think about the masses and not just you and your family. 1 Like |

NyamiriSlayer: To hell to anyone who want Igbos to remain in the hands of Fulani people and smile happily, Enough is enough, I like the show yes anyone can become one of the casualties but is better to die fighting for your right than suffering and smiling. You have heard bombing forest this and that but what follows next is still what we don't know. Once again Enough is Enough. Igbos have grown and are not afraid of any tribes in Nigeria. We are all watching a movie so wait to see the end of the storyline. |

I don't know why Nairaland don't bring meaningful post to their front page. How is that a problem if she like let her spend 10 billion dollars to buy whatever she wants, does that change anything? How does that help anyone or educate Nigerians about anything |

cocolacec: Your thought is wrong, personally I don't see anything special in Lagos apart from the Sea port which other regions can make theirs functional or do you think that Igbos don't have or cannot have a sea port. Mind you having a Yoruba nation does not prevent Igbos from living in Lagos Neither do having a Biafra prevent Yorubas from living in any part of the east. Even in USA Nigerians have properties and business so I don't get your point. |

I really don't know why Igbos and Yorubas don't like hearing each other's name. A Yoruba man will tell an Igbo mind your business and an Igbo will tell a Yoruba mind your business. What is actually the problem? Let us look at this in a different way. * Yorubas want their freedom and a nation of their own. * Igbos want their freedom and a nation of their own. * Hausas want their one Nigeria by fire by force since they have the lion share. Why can't the 2 ethnic group (Yorubas & Igbos) who want freedom to unit and defeat the region that says no to their freedom. Believe it all leave it, it will be had for Igbos to single handedly achieve freedom and the same to Yorubas. If those who want freedom can stand together and say enough is enough then the north will never have the power to stop them. The bigger problem is me and you, we are here on Nairaland fighting each other. There is no other way to achieve freedom without coming together. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

Godarz:What you are saying is that they should go ahead and send those messages to recover their money? Anyway, its better to go out of business because we exist when they don't, Say No to such messages please, I am not asking people not to pay their loan but for that message I said NO 1 Like |

Godarz: As long as it's about money there might be unforseen circumstances that make someone not to pay at the due time and what you do is to encourage them to pay, some will even offer you a discount just to encourage the person to pay. I don't care about what you people are saying but tagging someone a thief and frauster because he failed to pay a loan of 2500 withing 24 hours or even more is BIG NO such loan providers should be banned. One lady from those loan companies called and was threatening me on how she will shame me even when the loan is not due yet, they drive joy in tanishing people's reputation and image. I stand with the people who said that the loan should no longer be paid once they sent such message to people's contact at least they shouldn't win in both sides 1 Like |

Godarz: I hate people who try to defend this loan companies, people should pay their loan as agreed but don't sound as if they are actually doing them a favour giving people like 4000 to pay back 6500 in 7 days is not a favour, they are the bigger thief's, they are actually doing their business and trapping people into more hardship, the poor should actually run from such loan apps they are criminal too for giving people loan with high interest to pay back in 7 days. If they are fair majority of Nigerians will be fair to them. For example I don't see anything wrong giving someone 5000 to pay 6000 in 30 days but they won't instead 5000 means paying 7500 in 7 days. They should ask Carbon and Branch how they managed to grow this big without sending such useless messages to their customers contact. It's simple, they are not perfect but their interest rate and loan duration are good compared to those thief's that call other thief's and criminals. You will ask didn't them see the loan interest before taking it but that a useless question to ask. Taking advantages of some desperate and poor Nigerians who need urgent help is very bad. The truth is, people have started talking about the urgly treatment and high interest with few days loan term, sooner or later an action will be taking generally to reglet the loan system in Nigeria and if not, things will get out of hand. 3 Likes |

Those who own them usually pay extra panalties between 2-30% every 24 hours and it's okay that they disturb their customers by calling and texting them at least for 1 week. But sending text messages out to someone's contacts tagging them thief's and fraudsters for a loan default less than 48 hours is a big NO In fact some of them will even threaten you and tell you what they will do to you if you don't pay them even while the loan has not expired. I still maintain that any loan app capable of sending such messages should be reported and banned. You talk about how hard it is to recover their money but you never talked about the greedness. 4000 to pay 6500 in 7 days, 10,000 to pay 14000+ in 7 days. The truth is, it's only desperation that can make someone go for all this useless lenders. I am warning the general public to stay clear from all this people, whether rich or poor your reputation worth millions and if you don't hear even as little as N3000 will turn you to a thief and fraudster overnight 2 Likes |

Temmylee01:Don't waste your time, use it for more important thing and forget replying to them since they claim that 3k is enough to send abusive messages to someone's contacts, no matter how rich or contented they think they are, sooner or later they will have a taste of it directly or indirectly to understand that we are all human. 2 Likes |

ivolt: And all you are trying to say is that 9Credit did well to contact all their customer's contacts and tag them thieves and fraudsters because they are unable to pay after 24 hours not even 2days or 1 week. A loan company that will give your 4k and ask for 6,500 in 7 days and if you miss a few hours payment then you have yourself to blame. Anyway, he who support evil shall be welcomed by it. I don't know how rich you are but one day you will understand in one way or the other. They should call police if they have to or report them but that particular action should be condemned and if you support it, you will experience it someday to understand.
