This practically implies that they're lowering the standard at the universities. If 3.5/4 is the least required to make first class, what it amounts to on a scale of 5 is 4.375/5 as against the 4.5/5 which has been the least requirement all these while. 1 Like |

Culture / Re: Biafran Sun by EzePromoe: 6:15pm On Oct 13, 2016 |
Sammy888: May we not dance shamelessly forever. These are question warning for probiafrans. 1 How would the igbos coexist harmoniously with other supposed biafran tribes eg idoma, isoko, eko etc I didn't know that the supposed Biafra was going to be a caliphate that will not tolerate minorities. You should have asked how we lived for hundreds of years before the colonial masters arrived without one trying to invade the others like the Fulanis invaded most Northern kingdoms, or like Benin empire invaded Lagos. It's easier to ask what exactly will cause the breach of harmony between Igbos and these groups than to ask how they'll live in harmony.
2 what system of government will be adopted to accomodate all the biafran tribes I believe the Igbos are not overlords that will kick against what will be mutually suitable for all. The Igbos are even too diverse have a consensus that will be itching on other minorities. The decentralized system best suits their state. We've been living like that for years and it won't be a problem either for the minorities.
3 what in future those subregions rise for independence With the practice of true federalism which is very likely to be proposed in the new state, every state will function as a pseudo country, so it will take nothing from the rest that resolve to stay, if they want to be full fledged countries. The Igbos, I know won't stoop low to kill a dissenting voice.
4 How can the small land mass of the proposed biafran state support agric and industry If the smallest state in terms of landmass, Lagos can contain over 20 million residents then even Anambra alone will contain the 50 million Igbos worldwide. You guys are exaggerating the assumption of land scarcity in the South East. With a good foundation any country can overcome this. Israel is barely the size of Cross River state but they're doing very well in Agriculture and Technology because they have no option than to do so or depend on their enemies surrounding them. When Biafra is faced with such reality, they'll have no choice than to sustain Agricultural projects the likes of Obiano is embarking on in Anambra state. Ebonyi also is an agricultural hub as well as Etche in Rivers state. Talking about industries, don't go there. Realities in Aba, Onitsha, Nnewi and Port Harcourt should shut you up.
5 How would the new breed of politicians play out given the the level of greed, wickedness and corruption everywhere Corruption is everywhere but trust me, the masses are wising up. There are things an official would do and get away with in the 80s that will be impossible in this century. But I believe with the ideology these IPOB and other pro Biafra groups are championing, a disaffection has been created between the Biafran masses and the Nigerian groomed Igbo politicians. Trust the Igbo man who has fought with his sweat for Biafra to revolt when a former pro Nigerian Igbo politicians vies for a political office. Do you think people like Okorocha, T.A Orji, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi will find it easy?
6 Don't you think the new map of biafra should be looked into. Why adding yoruboid groups to biafra eg isoko, urhobo, itsekiri and some parts of igalla. And have all those region granted this creations. A referendum will suffice here. The only yoruboid group I can see here is Itsekiri by the way. By the way I don't think that there's any plan to include the listed without them applying for it. The Biafrans main interest is the old Eastern region and Anioma included.
7 How would the negotiations be concerning easterners' wealth and property outside biafra The properties of Biafrans are protected elsewhere outside the geographical entity, Nigeria won't be an exception. By the way, it's impossible to confiscate the property of every Igbo man in Nigeria that will be too obvious for the International community not to condemn. What does it portend? A worsening of the already bad image of Nigeria, investors confidence will fall. Imagine if Biafra capitalizes on that to create an enabling environment that will accommodate every nationality then Nigeria is as good as dead. You guys are just boasting about the propensity of mass deportation of foreigners because you know little about economics. You don't know that if 'free oil money' in the guise of federal allocation begins dwindling that your government will depend heavily on taxation from the Igbo businesses you desire to confiscate. I foresee a hike in tax when that begins to happen and that will compel the Igbos to think home.
8 Apart from the igbos will other tribes fight gallantly and faithfully to see the emergence of the new biafra. Thanks Igbos are large enough population wise to handle the task. What is simply required of other tribes at the moment is for them not to sabotage the struggle. But what is really giving you guys the impression that when tabled with the option between Nigeria and Biafra that a typical Niger Deltan will pick Nigeria? I'm a Niger Deltan living in Niger Delta and I know how my people think. |

What a myopic reasoning. So DStv should take off channels that keep millions of their customers glued to their products because of your personal and family issues. Guy fix your issues yourself, either by stopping subscription or using the channel blocking option. Simple! And men should stop complaining about their spouse's addiction to Telemundo if they themselves can't help their addiction to football matches, wrestling, action film etc. It's a free world. 1 Like 1 Share |

This post and also the posters so far has made zero sense. Who told you there's an ethnic battle for supremacy in Rivers state? Please if you aren't from Rivers state, quit this childishness and focus on things that will better your lives. It's true that we fought in the past and that is why so far our hardwork has been channelled to building bridges, posts like this is certainly uncalled for at this moment. I, as an Ikwerre citizen, will not support Wike to go for a second tenure or for another Igbo from Rivers state. The idea for Wike to run for 2015 was to usurp the ruling Amaechi's APC and by virtue of that successfully attained, I will advise PDP or any other party with the ambition to take power in 2019, to field a Riverside man for the sake of bridge building. We, the greater Igbo nation are not power greedy. 4 Likes |

Loluores: Hello guys, happy Sunday to you!
I briefly wanna share with you the idea of clean, open voicings today.
If you've ever wondered why and how some of the piano playing you hear on gospel tracks (even in many R$B songs) sound very sweet, one of the secrets behind them lies in the use of cleaned out, open chord voicings.
In these voicings, the notes in them are usually spread out in wider intervals, usually intervals higher than a major third, unlike what you have in triads. A lot of fourths (e.g. quartal voicings), fifths, sixths, sevenths, open octaves, and also wide, 'phat' left hand tenths usually feature in them. They are usually good for worship songs, where they help to create a good atmosphere.
I'll show you an example of a short intro to the song 'In The Sanctuary' (played by Kevin Bond back in the day), note for note! Study the voicings and emulate them in your playing as much as possible, and you'll start to see the difference.
Key of Db (you can transpose it into other keys in the vicinity of Db e.g. A,Bb,B,C,D,Eb,E,F), melody in bold.
LH/RH (name of chord on key Db)
d r l /s t d m (Bbm9) s r d/l d f (Ebm7) m t r s/s r (Ab/C) s d m s/s m (Db) m r s/r s r (Fm7) l s/d s d (Bbm7) m r l f/d f (Ebm7) l t r/l r s (Ab2/C) f d d'/s d m (Db) m t r/s l r (Fm11)
Enjoy!
I really enjoyed this. Please can you keep more of it coming? |
