Nairaland / General / Re: What's Your Advice To Help.. Mom Is In Detention. by fairprince(m): 1:56pm On Feb 07, 2015
StoneColdBiceps:

Eeyah soory dear, but dis is not soppose to get to dis extent. From my experience as a credit risk analyst in a bank, any deliquent/bad/loss loan has a way of recovery. U said its like 3 years so dat is classified "loss" according to cbn prudential guidline. Wat d bank do here is to appoint a recovery agent to act on dia behalf to recover d bad loan. 2.8Million s still on a low side to warrant all dis swat action in ur dads compound! D revovery agent stand to get 10% frm d revovery. Ur family can get a good lawyer to sue on dat action. Frm my experience as a credit risk officer in my bank, wat i'll advice ur dad do is his lawyer should write to d bank for concession or restructure of d loan. His lawyer shld plead dat bizness is bad dats why ur mum cldnt repay d loan. Dat d bank should give concession or waiver of paying just d 2.8M. D resultant 7M is as a result of debit interest accruals/accumulation frm d point d account went into debit. In banking accounting principle, everyday ur account goes into debit dia is debit interest against it so its unhealthy! So ur dads lawyer sld plead to cancel all d accumulated debit interest and interest element tide to d loan and just pay only d principal loan. Ur dads lawyer shld beg d bank to stop interest on d account so dat ur dad can effect credit swings. All dis plea above is done/granted by all banks, dey will approve ur dads plea. After all these, d bank will invite or write ur dad on d restructure/concession. Ur dad shld promise on a monthly payment or lump payment till he settles everyting. If u guys have money just settle it onze and for all....except ur mum/dad did sometin more atrouciouse, because i wonder why SARS will bé involved to d extent of jumping d fence into ur compound to make arrest.Sorry dear take hearth. Feel free to ask any questions...
. I strongly believe the parents did not cooperate with the bank and the recovery agent. I also believ there are still part of this story lurking somewhere we are not aware of. Banks take a long time and patience b4 it gets to this level. Even for collateral realisation, all other options wld hav been evaluated. Pls let ur dad request for Full and Final Settlement. Pay the original loan amount and add part of the interest. They will accept it and write off the remaining. But you must present sth tangible in ur negotiation since ur collateral is also in their custody. Next time, pls always be open to ur bank on any issues affecting u. They will more than willingly extend, restructure or refinance u. Sorry abt this whole thing.

crywhat a disgraced we use to parade ourselves as the big brother of Africa now common chad is saving us. Chad a country less than Ghana in military capabilities.

Please let's cover our face when next we are addressing our African brothers we are not up to their level in anyway. Bokoharam could not penetrate south Africa, Ghana, Cameroon, even Gambia but Nigeria they just sat and took our girls and kill our children while we were finding how to negotiate and settle them.

Nigeria rubbish country!! When next south Africa speaks we should hide because I know they are the military might of Africa now followed by Egypt.

What a disgraced to hear Cuba saving USA and later Fools will start shouting giant of Africa.

Naija were did we go wrong to keep getting worse each day.

We are rubbish in the eyes of Africa and international communities. I don't think any country will but their fate in Nigeria soldiers again in name of peace keeping

We are just a big oil bigot without real worth. truly we have loss the saltiness in our country. Africa will be a better place without the likes of us in it. We live in past glories of those who have long died to give Nigeria a meaning in a community of nations.

Nigeria!!! Oh my country were did we go wrong!
. Just suppose the market is at full throttle and u are asked to go and chase everybody by all means. Your family members and friends are also in there hustling to make ends meet. You will not be effective compared to an external agent with no strings attached. He can use any means available to chase everybody away without batting an eyelid. Nigerian soldiers have different backgrounds and interest when asked to fight on their own soil against their own people. An external aggressor with no interests can do and undo. Kudos to the entire military fighting out there to ensure we sleep at night. God bless all of them and keep them for their families.

Romance / Re: Ashamed And Tired Of Being A Virgin... by fairprince(m): 8:57pm On Feb 01, 2015
craziebone:

first, there is no evidence he created me. And even if he did, who says christianity has the monopoly of the 'word of god'? What is the evidence that that which is contained in the bible is the truth and the only truth? What if i say i am not a christian?you want me to read the bible too?

As for "your body is the temple..bulsh!tt", i am not saying my body shouldn't be his temple, but i think my body should be about me first than it is about anyone else!

If i get sick, who feels the pain, holy spirit? If i get hungry, who feels it? If i am enjoying or suffering, who feels it? If i have sexual urge, who feels uncomfortable and has to control something? The holy spirit? No! It is me! So it should be more about me than it is about anyone else!

Btw, if God doesn't want us to Fv..ck, why did he give us our homones? He should have kept it till we are married before releasing it into our blood streams. Afterall he is "all powerful".
. Young age should not be an excuse to be silly sometimes. It is always about you. Please do what pleases you. I am not really in a debate mood this night. I have a long week ahead of me to think about.

. Because He made you. No matter how much u try to philosophies ur way out of it, u were made by God. He hass given specific instructions on hw He wants us to live our lives in the Bible. ... know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?

The family house experience is so cool. They helped me a lot when I was redeployed with not much money and no acquaintance. Free flow of useful infoo among corps members and a way to encourage your spirituality. Served in North West '06/07. I even had the rare opportunity to participate in a 2-day Rural Rugged programme in one village like that in d North. Went in a canter truck and offered a lot of medical and financial assistance to the village. ''Higher and higher we will go... I love the way u... yes I love u with the love of the Lord''

Business / Re: How Bank Insiders Help Fraudsters Steal Billions by fairprince(m): 10:26am On Jan 24, 2015
lolaluv1:
One thing is, it is not So easy to gain access to a customers account without the account holder being very lackadaisical and slack with account details. I know of a man who was supposed to sign his cheque with his accountant making two signatures. When it was time to defraud, the accountant planned with an accomplice and forged the man's signature, and signed off his own part too.

They walked away with the money. This would have been prevented if the man had a cheque confirmation mandate in place or if he had taken better care of his cheque booklet.

On the flip side, bankers go through a lot. Over worked and unappreciated and indebted due to the fact that they are paying back bad loans they gave out, they sometimes fall into the trap of making shady deals. Also, some are very greedy. When you gave out a loan of 2.5 and the customer gave you 1m from it, How will he pay back?

Nigerian banks work in an ambience of emotional blackmail, insults, humiliation and intense pressure.... And you dare not complain, after all, "you can work effectively under pressure", as your CV spelt out when you were applying for the job
Banking is a very dirty world and only the very, very strong and powerful survive.

One day, I will write on What lies beyond those clean walls and seemingly serene atmosphere.
waiting for the book.

Romance / Re: Guyz Can U Date A Virgin? No Sex Till Marriage Can U by fairprince(m): 5:34am On Jan 22, 2015
If you fear God and are principled, it would not be a big deal. You know why? It is also a thing of pride for a male virgin not to fall for any lady after keeping oneself for a long time in consecration to your God. Those days I always felt any lady trying to seduce me to have sex with her was an agent of Satan coming to make me fall or steal my destiny. I was also so scared that once I committed fornication, that I would lose a lot of blessings from God. But the caveat is: do not encourage long courtship. It is very dangerous.

People always criticise others who are able to achieve certain feats viewed impossible by majority. I faced a lot of cynical taunts from friends in the university who thought I was a Jewman for not laying a woman: they never knew it was a matter of principle and fear of God. My wife and I were virgins when we got married. I have never had regrets for getting married as a virgin and to a virgin. But people who cannot do it just talk as if it were a crime.... It was not easy though, but it was worth the waiting.

@OP; It will be difficult. You can only exercise your right to choose if he decides to be more like GEJ than OBJ. You and I can tell who he will prefer to be like. NIGERIAN leaders gat too much of power. The highest that will happen is riots and protests that will die down in few weeks.

To many NIGERIANS, humility and civility is weakness, that is why GEJ IS SEEN TO BE WEAK.
. Good contribution.

Just being curious my people. I am neutral to both the candidature of Buhari and Jonathan. However I have been wondering whether Nigerians can easily vote out Buhari in the next 4 years if we are dissatisfied with his performance in the office.

Please allow God to choose a place to serve for you. I served many years ago in a rural area in North West Nigeria. We were well taken care of, nice and cheap accommodation and there was even little competetion for our services there. My village people up till now still provide free accommodation for corps members with mattresses, buckets, kitchen utensil and some simple household appliances. They even contribute Kerosine, palm oil, yams and garri for them. And the students also assist them cultivate some crops at a piece of land allocated to the corps members for farming. I always envy corps members posted to my villa.
