Saudi Arabia's official team plane caught fire in mid air as they travelled to their next World Cup match.
Flames were seen from the engine as the Russian Airlines Airbus was en route to Rostov where they take on Uruguay on Wednesday.
An official statement read from the football association read: "The Saudi Football Federation wishes to reassure everyone about the safety of all members of the mission of the national team after a minor technical malfunction in an engine.
"The plane landed a few minutes ago at Rostov on Don Airport, and UNOMIG personnel are now safely heading to their residence."
The plane was a Russian Airlines Airbus A319-100 and no one was hurt in the terrifying incident.
The players then filmed themselves calmly leaving the stricken jet.
They next take on Uruguay after a chastening 5-0 loss to hosts Russia on Thursday.

Spain have promoted Under 21 boss Albert Celades and named him as Julen Lopetegui's replacement.
Lopetegui was sacked on Wednesday just 24 hours after it was announced he would take over at Real Madrid following the World Cup in Russia
Celades will be in the dugout on Friday when Spain open their campaign against Portugal.
On Wednesday, Spain delayed a press conference at the Krasnodar Stadium by well over an hour before Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales announced the decision.
He said: "We have been forced to dispense with the national coach."
Rubiales added: "We wish him the best of luck."

Julen Lopetegui has been named the new Real Madrid manager just weeks after committing his future to Spain 's national team.

Lopetegui signed a deal until 2020 on May 22 but Real Madrid have swooped for his services and he has agreed to join the Spanish giants after the World Cup.
The 51-year-old represented Barcelona as a player for three years but will now take charge of their bitter rivals.

The move comes as a surprise, with Lopetegui not featuring prominently among the host of managers linked with the role since the departure of Zinedine Zidane days after Madrid's 3-1 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte and Guti were among the front runners to replace Zidane but Lopetegui has pipped the trio to one of the most coveted jobs in world football.

Lopetegui, who has been in charge of the national team for the past two years, has agreed a three-year contract at the Bernabeu.

Nigerian reggae icon, Ras Kimono, has died, sources close to the musician confirmed to Qed.ng.
He was said to have taken ill on Saturday on his way to the US a few weeks after celebrating his 60th birthday.
Friends rushed him to a hospital in Ikeja from where he was transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi.
He died on Sunday morning.
Tony Okoroji and other members of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) were on their way to the hospital as at the time of filing this report.
Born Ekeleke Elumelu, Kimono started out his career, firstly as a student of Gbenoba Secondary School, Agbor in Delta State and later as a member of the legendary Jastix Reggae Ital alongside Majek Fashek, Amos McRoy Jegg and Black Rice Osagie.
His music, tagged rub-a-dub, was greatly influenced by the poverty, inequality and hardship he witnessed in his early life.
He released his solo debut album Under Pressure on the Premier Music label in 1989, which propelled him to instant continental stardom.
The album had hits like ‘Under pressure’, ‘Rasta Get Jail’ and the massive hit ‘Rhumba style’.
He later released a string of hit albums, touring all over Africa, Europe and the USA promoting his brand of reggae music.
