@ diordaves diordaves: I have asked him about this 14mm iron, he said it will make the pillars more stronger, but we have told him to use 12mm although i dont know which is which, We will try checking the prices of buying the rods in roles as u suggested. About the anthill for filling not being enough, we will put that into consideration. We wiill also compare the prices for lorry trips of sand and gravel to know which is cheaper. We have already planned buying some materials by ourselves. and monitor the usage Thank you for your time @ All Please does anyone know the prices of lorry trips of sharp sand and gravel 1 Like 1 Share |

spyder880: The N50k is just for labour for filling, they said the anthill will be enough to fill the foundation. We are planning to use aboki for that if they wont go down on the price. |

@ Spyder Thank you again for this eye opener. [quote From your information, I can only deduced that you may not make use of the whole blocks of 500 and if you can grind more on the cost of labour please do. Why it is difficult to give you a concise projection is because I don't know the height of your foundation and if the quote also include the cost of sand-filling and the oversite slab (German foundation). In a serious project as this, it's good to pay attention to details, because the cost is in the details. Good luck] @ diordave, and all the 2 bedroom bungalow will be as follows 5 coaches to include the german floor 100k for labour which comprises of digging, blending and casting the german floor Accesories for blending N10k 14mm iron N13 600 30 bags of cement 20 tonnes of sharp sand 20 tonnes of gravel 500 blocks for everything- please somebody should help me and calculate filling of the german floor N50k although i have there are 2 giant anthills on the land land to be used is im helping my husband to monitor the prices because i think the prices are high Any advice? |

diordaves: @ diordaves Although im not with the quote but i can remember it has 20 tones of granite, 20 tonnes of sand, 500 block, 30 bags of cement, iron (cant remember how many but @ N10 000), then labour N100k. Cant remember if there was anything else on the quote. The 2 bedroom bungalow will be at the back of the building, not the main building. at Ajah side Lagos hasyak: @ hasyak Thanks will be okay with one. the price seams reasonable bu if there wont be any additional charges |

Family / Re: Life At 30 When You're Not Married by favourite(f): 2:52pm On Oct 07, 2010 |
It all depends on how you are taking it. Family pressures can make one feel as if she is the only one that is left behind. I am happily married but i didnt give in to my family pressure before i got married. I can rememeber before i got married, anytime i want to travel for any xmas my aunties will be calling me to ask if there is anything thing on board. Whether they should start getting ready for ashebi before i come back home. Can you imagine. I will jokingly reply them that im even coming back to know if there is anything they have for me. This thing continued till i gave one of them a serious warning. Again its not all married friends that behave some how. My friends that got married before me were all wonderful, if you see the way we always relate you will think we are all sisters. My advice is that you has to be yourself, dont be pushed to marry someone you dont love. Amend some of your characters to a better one because men see all these things. Wear decent clothes. Occupy yourself with something good ;ike a job or a good business, it will keep your mind off the pressure. Above all pray to God. Do not marry because of wealth or personnality because it does not last. |

There is a demostration going on right now along Lekki expressway because of the Toll Gate Issue. The traffic going to Ajah has passed Ikate round abount whille those going to VI are equally trapped coming out. The Lagos State police vehicles are seen all over. Some people are trecking to their offices while Okada people are busy making money. Car owners cannot abandon their vehicles. Many people will be late at their offices today. Properties / Re: Court Nullifies Claims Of Land In Mowe by favourite(f): 12:58pm On Jul 14, 2008 |
A big uncertainty now surrounds the fate of thousands of landowners in Oloburo Village, Mowe, in Obafemi Owode Local Government of Ogun State, as a state High Court has dismissed the claims of a plaintiff, Chief Fatai Adekunle, to the ownership of 20.791 hectares of land in the community. The land had been sold to members of the public and corporate organisations and undergoing various stages of development while some properties had been completed. Adekunle had applied to the state High Court in 2004, seeking the judgment of the court to declare him the owner of the land and declare the defendants, the Balogun Family, as trespassers on the land, which originally belonged to one Madam Ayarunke Balogun, who died in 1968. In her judgment, however, in Abeokuta on Friday, Justice Bunmi Olopade said the plaintiff had failed to give sufficient proof that the land in question belonged to him or to his progenitors. Olopade wondered why a person, who claimed to own a piece of land, would not be able to know those who shared boundaries with him, describing Adekunle’s action as frivolous and a gamble. She berated the plaintiff for employing force and violence to take possession of a land that did not belong to him and selling same to unsuspecting members of the public. “This is not a gambling house; what you have done amounted to gambling and we will not encourage that. It is an abuse of legal process and the court,” she added. The representative of the defendants, Mr. Adio Jolaoso, through the family counsel, Mr. Peter Ilegogie, had agued that the Balogun family engaged the services of a town planning consultant in 1997 to prepare a comprehensive residential layout plan. Jolaoso said, “The above step was taken to by the family as part of efforts to further manage and transform the farmland into a residential estate development with all necessary facilities in order to facilitate a coordinated development strategy. “In 2003, when the efforts started yielding fruits, there appeared some thugs tagged land speculators who nearly succeeded in forcing the family out of the land. We understand they came from Ota and known as armed land speculators (Ajegungbale). He explained that the Balogun family put up some resistance but backed out of armed confrontation in order not to encourage criminality and possible loss of lives. Jolaoso added that the plaintiff decided to initiate the suit before the Balogun family could do same in order to buy time and sell the land while the legal action would still be pending. He explained that Madam Ayanrunke Balogun had already willed the land, which she used for farming, to her six children. All the beneficiaries are, however, also deceased before she died in 1968. The family representative regretted that the plaintiff used the proceeds of the land to fight the legal battle, which he initiated in 2004. The family members believed that those who had bought land from Adekunle did so at ‘their own risk’, wondering how a trespasser could sell land that did not belong to him |

Another link http://www.thenewsng.com/modules/zmagazine/article.php?articleid=20677 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has launched an investigation into the alleged illegal acquisition of properties by former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, while in office. The EFCC on Tuesday presented a copy of Obasanjos file to the chairman of the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, (CACOL), Mr. Debo Adeniran and other activists. The activists had been invited to the EFCC office in Lagos to provide the Commission with additional information after the group had submitted a petition against the former president last week. CALCOL said in its petition that there are many reasons why Obasanjo must be probed by the EFCC. Among the reasons cited are the setting up of Bells University of Technology, Ota, with the sum of N40 billion; the launch of his private library during which N6.5 billion was donated by Nigerian businessmen and top government functionaries while Obasanjo was still in power; the acquisition of 200 million units of shares at TransCorp and the Obasanjo Farm in Ota, worth billions of naira. On receiving the petition, EFCCs Head of General Investigation, Mr. Usman Sarda, promised to investigate the former president who is no longer covered by immunity. Sarda told newsmen in his office that nobody was above the law and called on any Nigerian who had a case of corruption against the former president to write a petition to EFCC. Mr. Adeniran and other members of CACOL were invited on Tuesday by an EFCC official who identified herself as Franca. They were ushered into EG4, the office where Obasanjos file was presented to them. CACOL members who were present include Comrade A. Declan, the acting General Secretary; Mr. Leke Adebanjo Media Officer and Mr. Kola Odepeju, Director of Finance. EFCC neither denied nor confirmed the story. If found culpable, the former president, who came from prison to become president, is likely to return to prison and forfeit all the alleged illegally acquired properties. |

Politics / Obj Leads Praise Singers For Adedibu by favourite(f): 3:30pm On Oct 24, 2007 |
link http://www.thenewsng.com/modules/zmagazine/article.php?articleid=19940 OBJ Leads Praise Singers For Adedibu, Calls Him A Good Product -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Adetutu Audu As the Ibadan political warlord, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, clocks 80 years today, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has led a horde of praise singers to buy spaces in newspapers to congratulate the octogenarian. Other praise singers of Adedibu whose followers are believed to be masterminds of the unending political violence in Oyo State, are Chief Olabode George, deputy National chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Oluwole Awolowo, son of late sage, Obafemi Awolowo and Senator Gbenga Babalola. Paying glowing tributes to the Oyo State kingmaker on his 80th birthday in a paid newspaper advertisement published today, Obasanjo said Adedibu has evolved over time into a good political product. He questioned why we seek to change the strong man of Ibadan politics who humanity now has an opportunity to catch a veritable glimpse of, and whose exploits had engendered a new passion for politics and nation-building. Why for Gods sake must we seek to change a good product? Chief Adedibu has evolved overtime into a good political product. Humanity now has an opportunity to catch a veritable glimpse of the strongman and the generalissimo whose exploits had engendered a new passion for politics and nation building, Obasanjo stated in his advertised tribute to Alhaji Adedibu to mark his 80th birthday. Obasanjo, also said in the birthday message that he once admonished Adedibu to quit partisan politics and dwell on politics of wider dimension. The ex-president said he told opponents of Baba, as he fondly refers to Adedibu, that he (Adedibu) is a dry fish that can no longer be bent, and all that they need do is to tolerate the old man. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was not alone in eulogising the Godfather of Amala Politics. Chief Olabode George, deputy National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also wrote that though Adedibu says he does not want any elaborate celebration, he (Bode George) knows that the angels in heaven will blow the trumpet and sing a special birthday song. Though he does not want media adverts or announcements, the sky will blaze across with banners celebrating this great Nigerian, George said. The PDP chieftain said he joins millions of well wishers all over the world to usher the Ibadan PDP chieftain triumphantly into greater political responsibility and service to motherland. George added that Adedibu is like a wine, the older the better. You are not just the garrison commander, you are a 5-star political General, he sated. Chief George also had a word for Adedibus detractors: They are about to see your rebirth for the Lord. Your God shall renew your strength, the message read. He ended with a Yoruba song for Adedibu thus: Gboin Gboin Ni Toke, Oke Gboin Gboin! Igba Odun, Odun kan! Also congratulating the notorious Ibadan politician on his 80th birthday, Chief Oluwole Awolowo, publisher of the Tribune titles, he described Adedibu as a kind man and a good leader. Your kindness to humanity is exemplary and your leadership quality unparalleled. Your works and acts all signal that you are indeed a leader destined by the Almighty Allah to be great, Chief Oluwole stated in an advertisement. Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu has always displayed brazenly uncouth behaviour in Ibadan, especially in the political history of the state. Adedibu once told a magazine that he is the controller of politics in Oyo State and boasted that all the state governors that have won did so through his contribution and influence. He incurred public wrath in 2005 when he collaborated with some lawmakers loyal to him and impeached the former governor of the state, Rashidi Ladoja in controversial circumstances. Ladojas offence was his refusal to gratify the godfather. The judiciary eventually came to the rescue of Ladoja by reinstating him after 11 months. Recently, on his installation as the new Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana, the monarch reportedly banned traditional chiefs of Ibadan from partisan politics. The order did not go down well with Adedibu who doubles as the Asipa of Ibadanland and Ekerin Olubadan, and he shunned the coronation of Olubadan. Adedibu was reported to have said Olubadan can have his way and he (Adedibu) would have his. And indeed, Adedibu did have his way. Two weeks ago, the Alaafin Moletes thugs unleashed terror in the ancient city as they stormed the praying ground during the Ed-el-fitri celebrations and attacked one of the Ibadan high chiefs, Olawale Kuye, the Ekerin of Ibadanland and a director of the Oodua group, Alhaji Olawale Oladoja. High Chief Kuye represented Olubadan at the praying ground. A meeting of the Olubadan Traditional Council was called afterwards to discuss the attack but the Alaafin Molete, who is also a member of the council, refused to attend, daring the Olubadan and his chiefs to do their worst. Last week, the Director-General, National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Dora Akunyili, openly accused Alhaji Adedibu of undermining the activities of the officials of the agency in the state. In a swift defence, the Deputy Governor of the state, Taofeek Arapaja, who was at the gathering tongue-lashed the NAFDAC boss. According to Arapaja, he cannot sit down and watch his father (Adedibu) molested. |

Hi All, its good being a Nigerian. Know why? 'cos every & anywhere we are we leave our mark: Read this: Gabriel came to the Lord and said, "I have to talk to you. I have some Nigerians up here in Heaven who are causing some problems. They are swinging on the Pearly Gates, my horn is missing, and they've got Maggi sauce and Ogbono soup all over their robes; hamhocks, Isi-ewu, Cow-feet and Bokoto bones are all over the streets of Gold. Some folk are walking around with one wing; they have been late taking their turn in keeping the stairway to heaven clean. There are soda bottles all over the clouds, some aren't even wearing their halos, saying it doesn't fit with their hairstyles." The Lord said, "I made them special, as I did you, my angel. Heaven is home to all my children. If you really want to know about problems, let's call the Devil." The Devil answered the phone, "Hello? What the.! , !, hold on one minute." The Devil returned to the phone and said, "Hello Lord, what can I do for you?" The Lord replied, "Tell me what kind of problems you are having down there." The Devil said, "Wait one minute," and put the Lord on hold. After 5 minutes he returned to the phone, and said "Okay, I'm back. What was the question?" The Lord said, "What kind of problems are you having down there?" The Devil said, "Man, I don't belieee, hold on, Lord". This time the Devil was gone for 15 minutes. The Devil returned and said, "I'm sorry Lord, I can't talk right now. These Nigerians put the fire out, and now they are trying to install air conditioning! They even bribed my guys!!" |
