You sound so irrational. Igbos in the North that do business do they pay taxes and levies? so what has greed got to do with charging grazing levy? Are the Fulani Herdsmen not doing business? every business owner is supposed to pay his levy. besides how do the payment of grazing justify killing of people? you hate igbos but you wont let them go. do you realize how many communities are surviving on the levies this igbo traders pay? lets stop playing with issues that concern human lives.

I still do not understand how collecting grazing fees authorized the killing of people and destruction of farmland. Igbos who own shop in the north pay revenues and other charges, so whats the big deal? it is a personal business hence the must pay both revenue and taxes.

oluwabigloba:
Good day everyone. Please I need ur advice on this. I am a corp member in Rivers state.
Recently, our water started smelling like dead rat, and we have washed the tank because we noticed some Spirogyra in it. But after the washing, the water is still smelling.
My question is, is it from the borehole or the tank?
Also, what can we do to treat the smell?
Thank you for your advice.
I am sure its from the TANK, give it sometime it will clean (if you have washed the tank) If it does not clean up, then check if your neighbors are having the same problem. if they are, then it is from the water table, which i strongly doubt. If the smell is persistent, the the dead thing may be stock in the lines (pipes). Finally you need some professional cleaning to ensure there is no disease out break. As a chemist i will recommend you get Calcium Hypochlorite and wash the tank, If you cant find it, use enough Water guard (you can buy it from any drug shop). If you still have any issues, contact me, I am into water treatment, test, Water tank cleaning and disinfection and I live in Port-Harcourt.

Family / Re: 9 Things Teenagers Don’t Want To Hear From Adults by FBLJ(m): 2:41pm On May 05, 2016
Ekiti360:
I guess it comes with the territory, but every adult in the world seems to think they have some secret knowledge that will crack the youth. They attribute their expertise on the subject of teenagers to an accumulation of years and experiences.

Apparently, the magic of time has given them a compete and all-knowing understanding of how we should feel, think and behave during all hours of the day. However, all beliefs should be challenged – and I for one enjoy setting grown-ups straight.

Here are 9 things that make teenager like me cringe.

“Listen to your parents; they’re always right.”

Wrong. There is only one Yoda. Everyone else in the universe is bound to be wrong sometimes. I know it might surprise some adults to hear this, but us, teenagers are not always angsty, impulsive and inexperienced. Sometimes we know even better than you do – Give us a chance.

“This should be the best time in your life. Enjoy it.”

So… You’re saying that my life has peaked at 15? Excuse me if I refuse to believe that. I will enjoy all the world has to offer on my own terms, thank you very much. Otherwise I might become a teenage runaway, and you wouldn’t really like that would you?

“Wait till you get to the real world.”

Okay. Hold on, just one second. Are you saying that this is in fact NOT the real world? Hold up. Is this the matrix? Did we somehow transport to Narnia without me knowing?

Sure, I may not be working year-round in an office, but Algebra isn’t exactly a walk in the park. My life is real enough: a package deal that’s all inclusive with drama, responsibility and obligations. Don’t belittle me.

“You’re a teenager. This is just a phase.”

How can you possibly predict the future? Are you some sort of psychic being who sees into the future? If so, why don’t you tell me how to fix this world. I am currently in a process of creating an identity for myself that isn’t defined by the people around me. This phase might just stick. Even if it doesn’t, please just let me experience it without constant judgment.

Hint: The more you hate it, the longer it will last.

“Why don’t you tell me anything anymore?”

There are two possible explanations for our ‘lack of communication’:

Explanation 1: All I’ve done in the last few weeks is school work and watch re-runs of my favorite TV shows. I apologize for not giving you a play-by-play, but there is simply nothing of significance for me to be telling you.

Explanation 2: You’re being nosy and it’s annoying. NO amount of torture will make me spill my secrets.

“I was your age once too, you know.”

Yes, of course you were. There is no denying that you are in fact a human being. I understand the progression of time, but just because you were a teenager once does not mean you can relate to my experiences or how I’m currently feeling. Even if you have gone through similar things (in the past), you have been tainted by the knowledge of adulthood.

Sorry, not sorry.

“I’m your friend.”

Nope. Not gonna happen. Don’t get me wrong, I like you and all… but we are not friends. I think that comes with the whole power dynamic of the family.

If you give me rules, you are not my friend.

If you make me wake up in the morning, you are not my friend.

If you make me wash the dishes, we are DEFINITELY not friends.

Please, stop.

“You don’t know what’s best for you.”

Okay… and who does? You? Please refer to ‘Things Teenagers Don’t Want To Hear’ numbers one through seven. I know what I want. I know who I am. Don’t set limitations on what I should do or who I should be. It’s not yourselves.

“Grow up.”

Look here parents, we are growing up whether we like it or not. We love you (ever so dearly) and absolutely appreciate the unconditional support. Sometimes I think you forget that the mistakes we make are actually the perfect way for us to learn right from wrong. It’s a process, be patient.

http://www.ekitionline.com.ng/9-things-teenagers-dont-want-hear-adults/

A lot is wrong with your points, As a teen worker/teacher, i can see you are coming from a point where you think you are in total control of your life and one can advise you. Remember you don't live long enough to make all the mistakes in life, you learn from other people mistake. You made some great point though especially concerning parents, most parents always want to recreate themselves in their children, or want them to do what they couldn't do.
but truth be told, you will be better of if you learn to listen to good advice from good people. ... I would have loved to do certain things differently if I had taken some of the advise i was given.

Politics / What Where You Expecting From Buhari Than This? by FBLJ(m): 11:32am On Apr 13, 2016
Nigerians are very terrible with history, this has been one of our major problems, because we keep repeating the same mistake over and over again. check all the developed country, one thing taught and taken seriously in school aside technology, is HISTORY. If Nigerians read history, they will understand that What we are experiencing right now is expected.
When Buhari took over power as a military dictator, one of the thing he kept accusing the ousted president of was corruption, and he succeeded to paint them in very bad light (agreed a lot was wrong but over blown). then what followed? He (buhari) took away everything Nigerians enjoyed because like he said, the previous Government was corrupt ( why should the people pay for the sins of the Government?). He took away freedom of expression, luxury etc. the result was : economic breakdown, drop in the value of Naira, drop in the standard of education, hike in prices etc. students before Buhari were treated like kings, and only had to worry about their studies, but The Buhari's administration took all that away. people were flogged, in the name of war against indiscipline etc.
Now check the events that unfolded then and compare it to what we have today, everything is just replaying itself. so Nigerians, brace up for harder times, and keep praying we all survive this, because after this there will be another season of bliss. The difference now is that we have improved media, we can keep demanding good leadership. lets keep shouting out, and it will surely result to a great and genuine change.
We the people have the POWER.

Pray for Nigeria and of course for the president.

I here by call on all Bayelsa state Indigens, residents, Igbos and Biafran hopeful, both in and ouside the country to openly reject this good will from High chief, (Rit.) Hon Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi to construct a railway line in Otuoke Bayelsa. Because this will be a slap on the face of former president Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan the suposed hero of the Igbo race, who aparently did not do anything in the whole of Bayelsa let alone Otuoke. This looming embarrassment must be averted.

What the hero could not do in six years, the man that has been labeld as a betrayer is about to do it in one year. What will people say?

Are you a clown? Are you ignorant of the many promises with out fulfillment? its a proposal, one which is strongly debated. dont forget that this man abandoned the Mono rail which is now a monument. Before you attack me, be informed that I am a concerned Nigerian.

I dont why this Mr. common sense keep mute on Saraki presiding over the Senate even in the face of alleged corruption at CCT and the leaked Panama Papers indicting him, knowing fully well that an Ex- PM of Iceland was made to resign based on the fact his wife is involved and not him. The quoted post shows a glaring auto-correct error that a man with common sense should have perceived...if you doubt read the man's post again.

I just do know the name of virus that PDP always infects her member with making them making criticisms without viable solutions on what they are the root cause of and defending corruption even in the face of glaring even. They have made #Ben Bruce lost his common senses

I really do not know the serious matter here, but my post simply implies that this Mr. common sense has been picking one thing or the other on the current executive whereby he is in the position to enact and influence the legislature to address the identified problems but choose not to because he has lost his common sense to PDP virus which in turn has made him not to know the shameful implication of Saraki presiding over the Senate. Remember the anti-social media acts also.
Thank you.

I disagree that religion has been a problem, Americas founding fathers were religious people so with many euroupean nations, but it did not stop them from developing. our problem is our mentality. if all the leaders follow what the bible says for instance this nation will be so great and free from wickedness, but they are hypocrites, claiming to be religious and exploiting the people.

mrphysics:

Sorry, I beg to differ with the point that university graduates are shallow minded.

The reason you supervise them maybe because you have more experience in the firm than they do.

When you wish to further your education, you will have more reasons to believe.

you may have a good work, yes, am very happy for you sir, the point here is not having good work because they are many university graduates in a good workplace that you only dream to . what we are saying is, the quality of education dished out in both school of higher learning. I recommend you read the criterions by which schools is been graded in reference to another.

Sorry, some university graduates i meant too say, just like we have lots of poor Poly graduates. For why i supervise them, it is not because i have more experience, we all started together but by God's grace i excelled. The reason i mentioned the issue of Job was to encourage those who believe they can't get good jobs unless they go to a university.
finally on furthering, I have been having lots of training, if not for the limitations the society places on HND, I would prefer these certifications instead of going back to a university. I personally think qualifications should not be the major factor in considerations involving jobs and scholarships.
Education / Re: 9 Reasons Why Nigerian Universities Are Better Than Polytechnics by FBLJ(m): 12:05pm On Feb 25, 2016
I graduated from a polytechnic, and i can tell you that the OP is right in most points raised. There are however a few advantage the polytechnic have over the university but in general i would advise who cares, to attend a University ( if you are in Nigeria). I never wanted to go to a Polytechnic, but circumstance led me to it, while i was there i was still writing JAMB, and all my paper was seized. but I eventually graduated with a Distinction, Top of my class, and have a very good job most university graduate can only dream of, but i must tell you i suffered lots of discrimination before i got the job, i was denied scholarships and several Government schemes embarassed as i speak i still wish i went to a University even though i am happy in my job. I am valued because here they care about delivery ( men everyone here knows i am good) than qualifications, and I even supervise and coach university graduates because many of them are so shallow in their knowledge.
My final thoughts
1. where ever you are, study to know and not to pass exams
2. know your onus and always read to upgrade
3. learn things outside your field, have a knowledge about almost everything.
4. be proud of who you are and where you studied
5. If you went to a polytechnic, try furthering ( i have not though) take professional exams, attend training and get certifications.
5. above all, trust in God. only God can help you achieve your dreams.
