Latest report as the Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Friday dissolved a five -year-old marriage between a 35 year-old trader, Bilikisu Azeez and her husband Olusesi Azeez, over sex starvation.
Bilikisu had told the court that her husband, Olusesi, starved her of sex for more than two years.
“My husband has been starving me of sex since he married his youngest wife; he has turned me to an abandoned property.
“I have been falling sick in and out of hospital.
During my last visit to the hospital, I was told that it was because I have not had sex for long that is why I experience frequent sickness.”
“He refused to enroll our only child, who is over four years old in school and has failed to pay his medical bills; I always run to my mother for the hospital bill.”
Bilikisu, who also accused her husband of battery, said he had beaten her publicly which resulted in her fainting.
According to her, the trouble started when her husband brought in a third wife.
“There was joy, love and peace in the house until he came with another wife, who has been fighting me also.”
Bilikisu urged the court to dissolve the union so that she can move on with her life.
However, Olusesi, in his response to the allegations, accepted that he starved the woman of sex.
“She once denied me of sex and since then I abandoned her.
“Yes, I starved her of sex, it is tit for tat because there was a day I entered her room to sleep with her and she left the bed to sleep on the floor.
“I made an attempt eight times to sleep with her , but she refused. So since that day, I just put her aside, after all, she is not the only wife
I have,” he told the court.
The 45-year-old building contractor also consented to the dissolution of the marriage, saying he too was no longer interested in the marriage.

The court president, Mr Akin Akinniyi, while delivering the judgment said that it appeared that the estranged couple were tired of the marriage as all efforts to reconcile them had failed.
“Since both parties consented to the dissolution of their marriage, this court has no choice than to dissolve the marriage.
“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mrs Bilikisu Azeez and Mr Olusesi
Azeez dissolved today.
“Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife, each of you should go on his or her separate ways unmolested.
“The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavour. Any squabble between both of you from now on shall be treated as criminal.
“Any violation of this judgment will be regarded as contempt of court and will attract imprisonment without option of fine,” Akinniyi ruled.

Surya and Ishaan K Shaan became the first trans pair to ever marry in Kerala, a state in India with more than 34 million people.
The trailblazers got married in front of more than 500 people in a beautiful ceremony at Mannam Hall in Thiruvananthapuram, after a change in Indian law allowed for trans people to marry.

“We are now officially a couple – husband and wife and we will show the world that we can love and live a marriage too,” said Surya, a TV actor and trans activist, according to NDTV.
The pair met late last year at an event, started dating, then quickly decided to marry.

Ishan, who sits on the Transgender Justice Board, said: “We had known of one another for years, but weren’t friends,” The News Minute has reported.
“Six months ago, we met at a programme in Kozhikode and got to know each other. I proposed to her, knowing that she had the same feelings for me.”
Ishan said the journey to the happy day was painful.
“I never wanted to hurt my parents,” he said. “And that’s why my journey from Sabina to Irfaan has been long and tough.

“I wanted it with the support and blessings of my parents. Especially my mother.
“And the fact that my father, mother and sister are present for my wedding, makes me very happy,” he added.
Ishan’s mother Shanipa said: “We are the mother and father, so we of course will support our son.
“She was born a daughter, but now is our son. But that’s not how our relatives see this.
“It does get very tough. We also expect to be supported by our local mosque authorities to recognise this marriage in our community,” she added.

Surya felt supported by her family, saying: “My mother couldn’t be here.
But she is supporting me in my marriage to Irfaan.
“She came and blessed us last night. And I have Renju Renjiamma with me, the person who has truly taken care of me as a mother would,” she continued, referring to the celebrity makeup artist.
Trans advocate Maya Krishnan said the wedding was momentous.
“This is a historic moment for the community of transgender persons – because there is no law on issues like marriage, adoption or atrocities against them in such situations,” Krishnan said.

“This marriage has been registered at the sub registrar’s office under the Special Marriage Act.”
Progress is slowly being made in the region in terms of transgender rights.
On May 10, Pakistan’s parliament has passed a law guaranteeing basic rights for transgender people, in a move hailed by advocates as historic for the country.
The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act allows people to self-identify as male, female or transgender, and to have that identity recorded on official documents, including passports and ID cards.

A wife has accused her partner of filing for a protection order against in order to have an extra- marital affair.
Columbus Chijok, a man who accused his wife, Alice Takawira, of trying to poison him has found it difficult to eat meals cooked by her as a result.
He mentioned this at a civil court in Harare, Zimbabwe, where he also alleged that the defendant Takawira took his underwear to a prophet.

This was confirmed in a report by The Standard News, which also stated that the wife had insulted Chijok in the presence of their children - a factor which led to more tensions between the couple.
Takawira, however, believes Columbus Chijok filed for a protection order against her in order to cover up his promiscuous behaviour.
According to reports, she got the information concerning her husband's extra-marital affair from his work colleague.

A sex-deprived pastor, Joshua Aranse, has lost his marriage due to a lack of intimacy with wife who denied him conjugal rights. This prompted him to seek a relationship with another woman who is reportedly pregnant.
He explained this to the Alagbado Customary Court, Lagos, during a hearing held on Thursday, March 8, 2018. An absence of sexual intercourse for a period of four years provided good motivation for the act.

The woman who lives in Meiran, claimed that her husband neglected his family between the year 2010 and 2014.
This proved to be the catalyst inspiring a desire for divorce.
“My husband has not set his eyes on his three children since June 30, 2014. He refused to pay their school fees.
"They no longer go to school because I do not have money to send them to school.
"He sold our car and gave the money to the woman he impregnated. He has refused to take care of the children and I.
"Please separate us because I no longer love him," says Funmilayo while addressing the court.
Aranse submitted a different view explaining why he sought a relationship with another woman. He however refused to agree with an opinion describing him as an adulterer.
“I did not commit adultery except the woman I impregnated,” the respondent offered a comment while addressing the issue.
According to reports, a court president ordered him to pay a sum of N15,000 monthly for the welfare of three children nursed with Funmilayo.
Aranse is expected to make this payment to the court until it is able to reach a decision.

National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye, has lashed out at President Muhammadu Buhari over his London comments describing Nigerian youths as lazy and uneducated.

Faulting the President, Udeh-Okoye insisted, in a statement he issued in Abuja on Friday, that the Nigerian youth remained the “most innovative, enterprising, hard working, and patriotic” people.

He said: “We are saddened by what has become a habitual and flagrant demarketing of Nigeria and her citizens by President Muhammadu Buhari, especially anytime he steps outside the shores of the country. A President sincere about attracting foreign investors would not go about running his citizens down, telling the entire world that his citizens are corrupt and now, that the youth, which constitute about 60 per cent of the country’s population are uneducated, lazy, and unwilling to work”.

The PDP national youth leader accused the President of standing the truth on its head before the international community.

“President Buhari should have instead told the world that this All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has incurred a debt of over N11 trillion in just three years without any completed project, especially socio-economic infrastructural projects that will drive youth entrepreneurship, to show for it in his third anniversary as President.

“He should have told the international community that his poor management of the economy has wantonly devalued the Naira from N160 to a United States Dollar he inherited in 2015 to between N350 to N400 and has triggered investment flights to neighbouring countries like Ghana and demise uncountable businesses.

“Indeed, he should have confessed to the world that over 16 million hard working Nigerians, most of them the youth, lost their jobs, 18 million became acutely underemployed, and inflation hit an all-time high due to his incompetence and lack of vision.

“Therefore, to turn around to stand the truth on its head is unacceptable to the Nigerian youth”, he added.

Udeh-Okoye, however, enjoined the Nigerian youth to exercise patience as 2019 was already near.

“It is needless joining issues with Mr. President and his incompetent team, whom besides having nothing to offer us, want to turn potential helpers and the entire world against us.

“The best answer to this assault on the sensibilities of the Nigerian youth is to obtain Permanent Voters Card and be ready to repay the President in his own coin in 2019 by showing him and the fumbling APC the red card across the country”, he stressed.

Spiritual charms have been recovered from the thugs that invaded the Senate’s chamber on Wednesday and stole its Mace.

The criminals have since been arrested and the Police has launched an investigation. The police later recovered the senate’s stolen mace at a flyover before the Abuja city gate.
Aremu Adeniran, deputy force public relations officer force headquarters, said a “patriotic passerby” saw the mace and alerted the police.

Ovie Omo-Agege, a suspended Delta senator, allegedly led unidentified persons to the upper legislative chamber to seize the mace on Wednesday.
After the incident and the ensuing uproar, the senator was taken into police custody but was later released.

An Italian Priest has gambled away more than 620,000 dollars of his parish money, media reports said on Thursday, backed up by the local Catholic Church.
Father Flavio Gobbo, 48, negotiated a plea bargain for a suspended two- year jail term for embezzlement, the Corriere della Sera newspaper said.
As part of the deal, he has promised to gradually return the money and signed up for therapy against gambling addiction, with the support of his church superiors.

“In this long and streneous journey, Father Flavio has mainly found support in prayers, but also in the will to return soon’’ to active ministry, the Diocese of Treviso said in a statement.
Father Gobbo left his post as parish priest in Spinea, near Venice, in October 2016.
At the time, the local church said he was suffering from exhaustion.

A man who tried to separate a fight between his two wives today in Adamawa state never thought he would meet his end in such manner. The man identified as Adamu Dewa from Dirdeu village, Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa state was stabbed to death this morning by his first wife while trying to separate a fight between her and his second wife.

According to Abdulrahman Njidda Yebbi, his first wife, Hauwa who is popularly known as
“Chamba”, was married to the victim over 20 years ago and they have not less than 5 children together. She’s reported to have threatened her husband with death on several occasions, accusing him of favouritism and unequal treatment between her and the 2nd wife.

The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the Ganye General Hospital.

Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, has vowed not to steal money before he hands over to his successor on May 29, 2019.
He stated this when the people of Ideato North, including their chiefs and leaders, came to pay him a solidarity visit on Sunday.
Okorocha also said when he came to run for the governorship, when no one believed that one could win, especially those from the opposition party.

“I have few months to go, but still, I have declared road revolution.
“The usual feeling is for outgoing governors to pack money and leave at the end of their tenure; but I will not pack money, I will continue to work till 11.30am of May 29, 2019,” the Governor said.
Okorocha has already endorsed Uche Nwosu, his Chief of Staff and son-in-law, as the next Governor of the state.

Financial services firm Deloitte has once again released its Football Money League, charting the massive revenues of Europe's biggest football clubs.

The English Premier League dominates Deloitte's ranking with 10 clubs in the top 20 list, the most from one single league since records began.
The financial power of English clubs was largely thanks to Premier League contracts worth in excess of £8 billion over three years.
However, clubs from the Ligue 1 in France, La Liga in Spain, and Germany's Bundesliga all competed for the top spot, along with one of the very best from England.

According to Deloitte, this year's battle for first place was "the closest in Money League history" with only £1.5 million separating the club in first place from the club in second place.
