Car Talk / Re: My 2005 Toyota Camry Transmission Stuck by fisherman139: 11:02pm On Jun 11
That's the problem right now. I don't have the key to it and the dealer doesn't have it either. I left the car about 5 drive to my house that's where it happened. I don't know what to do and I'm really scared something might happen to it.. Please I need help that's why I put it up on here. Maybe there's anyone who has encountered something like this before and if there's anything I can do without the key.

Bro, it's easy to turn and lock with your fingernail but trust me, you can't unlock with fingernail. You need the key to unlock.

Maybe I didn't get all the key set...but the car dealer isn't in possession of the knob key either.. I just spoke to him on phone to explain the situation to him, but this is what got me confused. If only a certain or programmed key is enabled to lock and unlock it... Why so easy for me to lock with just my finger nail with just a single twist?

You should have the key to unlock your shift lock, unless that is stolen or, maybe, you dint get complete set of keys..

Stolen car? I bought it tokunbo just couple of weeks ago with all the genuine custom papers with me.. I don't understand what you mean by a stolen car.

I just got the car about couple of weeks ago.. My first time using camry(big daddy) I was only messing around and turned that slot using my thumb finger nail.. This was so dumb of me and I can't even explain how it happened.

Hello my bosses in the house. My 2005 camry gear got stuck and I've tried everything possible but proven abortive.. There's a certain key slot on the shifter knob.. I mistakenly turned it, after that my gear could not shift from park. I've tried pressing the shift lock button and yet not working. I don't have the key to the slot. Please I need help on what to do. My Rewire was here but he's clueless.
