@Justwise and other guru in the house, In 2019 when I did tourist visa through one agent like that, when he filled my visa, he indicated that I have been to France and south Africa in my travel history, but the date he put was long ago, though I was denied visa, now I want to travel with my wife through study route, She's the primary applicant, Pls should I still maintain same fake travel history or I should dictate no travel history?

Thanks for ur anticipated response

I think your wife should apply to other schools as backup

She applied like 7 schools.. Selford av offered her admission but their part tuition fee is 4400 and moreover is 1 year program, is much. so we are still waiting for other universities to give us feedback before we decide on which one to go..

Hello house, I was offered admission for msc at Northumbria university Newcastle and I have made deposit but the school have not send my CAS letter yet , I emailed them and they said they have not started sending CAs to countries that are not in the green list, I want to know if anyone here is experiencing the same thing and if other schools in the UK have started sending CAs to Nigerian students or is this the way Northumbria normally do and if yes when do they start sending CAs, pls I need answers

That's quite unfortunate, but are other universities issuing cas? But is ur 28 days pof ready and have you submitted it? Still excise little patient. My wife is still expecting admission letter from that particular university and same campus.

Kudos to all the ogas in the house.
I'm considering going for MSc in Project management with professional practice. Since these course would take 2 years, do you think the schools would allow me to pay 50% tuition per year?
Schools in view:
Northambria University
Sunderland University
Thanks

I know of Northambrim University, they have a good flexible tuition fee plan, you can.All the best.

Do not attempt it as it is a General Grounds for refusal.

The rule clearly states that you need to have kept the money in your account for a minimum of 28 days.

Pls when is the actual time to lodge fund for proof of fund?

Is it after paying part tuition fees or when the admission letter is made unconditional?
Thank you for ur anticipated response.

Good evening house, i applied for my CAS today with the required document... but my benchmark was 550 but the exchange rate is above that since 2 weeks ago..i told the school i will be applying with my wife before but during my pre CAS interview i already discussed my option with them that my wife passport is not ready, hence i might be applying alone because the money in the POF might not be sufficient due to exchange fluctuation.
so today the school replied that the bank statement does not meet the requirements. The amount in the 28 day period cannot fall below the required amount of £29,212. With reference to Oanda currency convertor the lowest amount on the statement 16,089,950 NGN is today equivalent to £27,571.
i was then asked the following
Are you able to make an additional payment towards your tuition fees? Or do you have another bank statement that you could use in addition to the one you submitted? The dates on the statements would need to be the same.

i have replied the mail that i will be applying alone for now that my wife will be applying at a later date as her passport is not available yet.
but my worry is that this was not included in the options.
Any advice because i do not have plan to pay for another deposit now as it will affect my applications.

Pls is it one year M. Sc program that you want to do or two years and how much part tuition fee did you pay?

September is still far away and perhaps the epidemic would die down as it passes summer. Moreover there is still yet no outbreak like that of Italy or Korea in Nigeria (I think it's kinda unlikely due to high ambient temperature and lack of elderly people). I think you can give it a try, as long as they haven't announced that the intake this year is stopped.
Okay bro.. Thanks..
I love the country, I will give it a try.. But pls how's their post study used to be like, I mean if am done with my M. Sc there, hope I can stay after my study and get atleast a good job that i can earn , atleast 2000 dollars or more monthly, secondly, how's cost of living there? Ie Like how much is an average self contain there? Pls if you can drop ur email for easy communication or update, I will gladly appreciate Sir or can I drop mine? Thanks bro, I really appreciate.

Just an info for you guys from an insider (as well as some Sub-Saharan African students I get along with in the university). Apparently the Ministry of Education of Japan (Monbukagakusho) is trying to increase African student quota in Japanese universities, perhaps as an effort to spread the soft power into the continent. I'd say African applicants are given a little bit more leeway to obtain the scholarship, provided one already has gotten an approval from a prospective supervisor/professor. For the procedures, required documents, and deadlines, you can check out the website of Embassy of Japan in Nigeria (I'm not gonna spoon-fed you guys, I'm busy and there is Google to help you out). The website is here btw https://www.jasso.go.jp/en/study_j/scholarships/__icsFiles/afieldfile/2019/04/17/scholarships_2019_e.pdf

On the other hand, they are decreasing 90% (perhaps even more) of post-graduate scholarships to Asian countries (especially other East and Southeast Asians) that it's almost impossible for them to get one now except if the applicant is truly exceptional or even a superhuman shocked. Basically the are abolishing scholarship for those folks. Till a few years ago they are the workhorses of many labs here (as graduate students), but due to this 'woes', many professors and principal investigators (PIs) are struggling to recruit new people. For example, my PI now has to put a couple of our projects on hold due to lack of new grad students. My friend's lab even got severely downsized and close to disbandment due to lack of manpower. Too bad they are sometimes don't know that they can recruit very good students from Africa but alas very few have connection to do so.

Now it's up to your effort because the next is the hardest part. Please read and study thoroughly some scientific journal articles that suits your academic background and try to come up with ideas. Be sure as well to check the professor's current projects in each lab's webpage (typically in top universities a lab/research group has a functioning and updated website) before doing so. You are also encouraged to check their relevant publications, which are often posted in the website too.

Afterwards, try to contact them in professional manner, that is, introduce yourself and give a brief academic background and explain your plan in the lab and Japan (as well as the research idea you conceive). You are needed to attach your CV/resume along with the first communication e-mail so that the professor can be ascertained that you are indeed willing to join the lab. Be patient to wait for the responses because they are super busy (sometimes up to a week). They only recruit very good (even though raw talents) students with strong grasp of respective field's concept so be very, very prepared. Upon convincing the professor that you are worthy to be the member, you'll subjected to entrance interview and test, which is just as rigorous and depends on down to the policy of the department the lab belongs to. Yes it's easy to get scholarship up to a point you earn trust from the prof but in the test they will try to weed out those who don't have the basic concepts. Some universities have low acceptance rate even for Master and PhD level entrance.

I know you Nigerians are very hard-working given being in conductive situation. Good Luck.
Hi bro..
Happy new month, pls with new conoravirus disease that has entered Nigeria, are you sure prospective study visa will be granted, cos I intend to apply for September intake... Pls ur candid advice will be appreciated.
Thanks..
Travel / Re: With N20M, Should I Travel To USA Or Stay In Nigeria? by Fk1987: 9:38am On Feb 22, 2020
Brodapounds:
Hello dear nairalanders.

Please I'm going through a state of mental confusion.

Currently i have approximately 20 million and 300 thousand naira in my bank account.

I have two thoughts.

1) I am 25 years old but I'm not a university graduate, i only have ND (National deploma) from a polytechnic In Edo state, Auchi precisely.

I would have become a graduate years ago but after my "ND" years ago, i refused to go back to school and i decided to hustle for money.

Most of my classmates in school back then are all graduates but all the same, looking at my bank account now, i have no regrets.

So this is what i plan on doing.

1) Can i further my Education In any university in the United States with the money and plan on staying back after my degree, for the fact that I'm 25.
Will that be advisable?

2) should i stay back in Nigeria and use part of the money to build a house In my hometown in Benin and use the rest for business?

3) Is there a chance of going to USA and start all over again, look for job.
Will the money be enough to rent a house, foot some bills untill i see a job in the USA.

Note i choose USA only because it's my dream country, I'm not scared of the traveling ban because I'm 100% confident that it will be taken away few months from now.

Please i won't be replying any mention or questions.

All i want is to take note of good advice.

I already know a reliable traveling agent.

Please other suggestions are welcomed apart from mine.

Please help
brother divide the money into two, use 10m n acquire a plot of land within Uni environment, build self con hostels and use 10m n relocate to US and study... The hostel will be generating income for you here in Nigeria...

Read and understand what DMAINMAN wrote to u...
Even most UK citizens who works in London live outside London city....
Mind you, schooling at London city is extremely expensive for a student except u re well prepared Financially! Ofcourse, people school in London.
But check ur pocket and budget.

Most cities and UK Towns outside London are OK for international students with job choices.

A double room accommodation for you and ur family to start is as low as £280-360 outside London.

U go even take Work agencies do shakara for many places outside london, telling them u got a job already...

Even in London u cant do more than ur power except u wan kill urself.

Just find d right Schools for ur career, and Pray to God to help u choose where to go that will suit ur Destiny that's d issue.
Hope this helps.
Hi, Pls which Uni outside London have flexible payment option, I intend to study human resources management M. Sc.. Pls I want a place with affordable cost of living and flexible payment option, like 3000-3500 part pay fees and above all where I can get better job offers "during and after my study "

You are welcome!
But sorry, I maybe misunderstood.
You are talking about Visa application to enter Japan?
I was talking about Application for certificate of eligibility.
I even down load it and checked it.
But I couldn't see write to ID number, tax certificate etc.
Hello bro, no I meant visa application not certificate of eligibility.

I understand.
You are working person.
But you have no certificate.
I think ask Embassy, Immigration, school etc is better.
So you will not make mistake.
Maybe you can show them your bank balance if they need or demand you.

I don't think everybody is working or have money when they apply student visa.
But I think they need sponser.
Okay.. Thanks very much..

Thank you for explain to me,
I appreciate you!

I'm not immigration worker.
So I'm not sure.
But I think you must write your ID number.
What happened about your birthday on passport?
Can't you fix it? or that is not problem in Nigeria?
I think ask Embassy or Immigration is better.
Document is very very important in Japan.
Everything Document and Hanko is important.
If ask them, I think they will tell you What to do.

About your business, if you don't have any certificate about your work, I think that mean is you can't prove them you are working in your country.
If your work is legal, Don't you have any other document for prove them you have own business?

I'm not sure, but I think what they wanna know is How will you manage your life in Japan when you get visa and come to Japan.
Maybe that's why if you don't have work or you don't have enough money, you need prove them you have sponser who can assist and guarantor your life in Japan.
So I think write your sponsor is good.

Certificate is also very important in Japan.
And you must write it in all sincerity.
Hide something, fake something, lying is too bad.

I will check it well again and reply you again!

Okay, but I have the fund to take care of my studies but the issue is that I don't have legal prove of that.. thanks very much..

Sorry, I'm little bit difficult to understand.
I wanna understand your question well.
DOB is date of birth?
Your birthday is different on your passport and ID card?

And bet9ja biz is business?
You have own company?

I checked visa application on website and I checked How to write.
Some schools inform How to write with sample.
Have you checked it?
I mean as regards to visa application, there's provision for I'd card number issued by government of the applicant nationality, but in my case my national I'd card has different DOB, I asked whether I can leave the column vacant or can I also fill in my passport number too, secondly, in the visa application, the also request for tax clearance certificate and corporate affairs commission number for someone that have a registered company and for someone that is gainfully employed, need to submit his appointment letter, so my question goes like this, in this case my biz doesn't have tax clearance certificate and corporate affairs commission registration number, but I av a sister who's working in a corporate organization, can I submit her appointment letter in place of mine as my sponsor cos she has legally accepted means of income?
thanks

International student need permission for work and have some conditions.
You can work only 28hours of a week including over work.
If you had work more than 1 place, still same.
I mean not each place can work 28hours of a week.
Total 28hours of a week.

When school have long holidays like summer holiday, winter holiday etc, you can work 40hours of a week.
But you can only work 8hours of a day.

Please check about it very well.
If break that rule, it's gonna be big problem.

And minimum wage is depending on prefecture.
Highest is Tokyo 1,013 yen per hour.
Cheapest is Aomori, Kagoshima, Okinawa etc 790yen per hour.
Hi bro, thanks for your explicit explanation.. Pls one more question when filling japan visa application for study , there's a space provided to write I'd number given by govt of ones nationality, if I still put my passport number or leave it blank, will it have negative impact on my visa application cos the DOB in my National I'd is different from the one in my passport, secondly the space provided for employer's details, can I also leave it vacant cos I run a bet9ja biz and I don't have tax clearance and corporate affairs commission registration number but I have a sibling who's working in a corporate organization, can I submit her appointment letter and pay slip as my sponsor in place of my employer details, pls ur candid advice will be appreciated..
