Politics / Re: PIA: When 3% Is Greater Than 30% by Flash360: 7:50am On Aug 29, 2021
Exactly.
Also the 3% is to be shared to the host communities to do whatever they want.
While the 30% is simply for exploration expenses and it's not to be shared to the communities. Meaning the 30% will be used to discover oil and gas deposit.

But tribalism wont let people read and comprehend. Also the govt should have done better in breaking down the bill in layman terms to sensitize the agitating regions before the issue escalates.

dairykidd:

According to the narrative it says 30% of profits / dividends from oil (revenue) as against 3% OPEX which is kinda eye opening to me because I always thought both perc were from the revenue. Although it still looks a bit unfair but i find it hard to believe anyway

Una dey lose focus. This story is centred about her introducing a new platform called Vreg, which they will use to frustrate us soon by forcing us to compulsory register our cars with a fee.
How can she say nigeria doesnt have VIN database, something that is used by frsc to issue plate number. All this data are available already.

Caverton only problem is the rising FX risk, as most of their debt are in dollars and most
expenses are factored in dollars too, such as cost of maintenance and spare parts, pilot salaries etc

That's not going to happen. This is the reason why FG is buying a stake in the company, to provide bailout fund for dangote to clear the hanging interest owed.

there was a significant reduction in Gross Premium written and also increase in unearned Premium.
Also claims expenses were higher, while the company was able to reduce outstanding claims.

Book value is 58kobo, while market price is 20Kobo

lol, past lessons was too deep. i only follow fundamentally sound stocks. retail insurance investors pre-2008, were just gambling
(including me) based on the massive bully rally in the market. Learnt my lessons the hard way. There are still valuable stocks in the industry, you just have to do your research proplerly.

for a start, the stock in highly undervalued. Book Value is about 60kobo, while market price is 20kobo. they dont have borrowings and the balance sheet is growing strong. They are likely to meet their recapitalization target anytime from now. Also their negative retained earnings has almost been cleared totally, giving hopes of dividends in the near future.

Anyways, make person sha offload plenty units at 20kobo on monday. We carry mop come.

Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Flash360: 1:52pm On Jul 19, 2021
very good question. the huge difference in EPS recorded is because of the share reconstruction done earlier this year which reduced shareholder units from 4 shares previoulsly held = 1unit . reduction in shares issued = higher EPS (as there are less shares to divide the Earnings).
So now, why was the shares reduced; this is to create space in equity for the company to raise money to meet up the insurance sector recapitalization target, which the board has already gotten shareholders approval for. if you now check the last released result, you will see the deposit has been made for it already, most likey from their biggest shareholder (lagos state Govt). To finally absolve this fund, they will have to issue new shares via private placement or via rights offers (which will allow existing shareholders to acquire more units).

the amount currently deposited is almost 30% of the Equity value. so imaging the dilution that will occur.

Well, wetin i sabi. Due Diligence should be applied. cheers

yMcy56:

Well done sir. grin
Concerning the dilution you mentioned, dont you think the shares are already factored in?
Are you implying that another shares will be "manufactured" for the depositor?
Wanted to reply your last mail on the dilution but not chanced again.
If you compare the EPS of 2019 to 2020, you'll see the huge difference......from 0.04k (or so) to 0.10k......and profit more than double, around +116% or so. What do you think happened here? Just asking to learn more ni o. smiley
