You are the one who degraded your father and I see it as a carryover of the kind of treatment you have seen your mum mete out to him.
Your comment showed that your mum have little regards for him but he seems a good man who is content with what he has and because of that he is looked down upon courtesy of how your mum presents him to his kids possibly making him into a weakling and for him to keep enduring such with your mum appears to be foolish to some people if you get the drift from the responses from your first comment.
Jeeeeez. Do you really mean what you typed here? shocked shocked

With your level of intelligence, I am really surprised that you can read and write! Wooooops! shocked

She “submitted”, yet she has no regards?
She allowed him win, all the time, yet you still turn around and blame her and hero-fied the man!

Even if a man clubs his wife to death in the name of marriage, your type will still hail him!

Lady u indirectly insulted ur own father from ur first comment no offense,
I told you that my father was “content” by his own understanding of the scriptures. How can this be an insult? How dare I insult the person you who fully and responsibly saw me through school? Do you have to insult him? Does calling him a fool make you happier?

I don't feel happy right now the way you have addresses my very own blood. You hurt me deeply by your careless statement but don't worry. Your daughter will be my age someday.

Why talk about my father this way? Why? Do you know him? Will you be happy if someone talks like this about your family? You lack home training. Why hurt me with careless words? Wait for Karma.

And also I do not need your pity. I am a successful woman. Thank you.

Do you know why my parents still live in a rented apartment after 38 years if marriage?

My “submissive” mum always sort consent, which she was never given! And her bible told her to “submit”, so all her years of marriage, she submitted to the man's will. My dad? Never saw the need to buy a land, build a house, go to good schhols etc because his bible told him to be “content”.

38 years after, REGRETS everywhere. Lol

Consent my foot! I may notify you (depending on how you sail our ship) but I cannot allow you to drag me backwards. Impossible!

Your type are those that don't have sense. You have head but no Brain. Chop my shit nigga... How can a lady like you say such a thing? This shows you don't have respect for your husband. I guess you're not yet married. And you're saying all this, and your future husband is looking at you.
Your resort to insult shows you are just being overly emotional. She spoke the truth, and the truth it is! Read her last paragraph again..
Annwrites:
If a husband would not let his wife know of any step he wishes to take he doesn't even deserve to know about his wife business.
Your wife was first human, before being your wife. This is 21st century where women have a voice now. She is not your slave, she is your wife. If you involve her in the marriage business, she involves you. If you don't, to hell with your consent and ego massage! If you want her respect, give respect.

All those insult hold no water. Having a career, money and a voice only scares chicken-males in this era. Real men that know their worth, know the kind of women they go for.

You keep moving the goal post!

When you talk of minimum wages in those countries, you must also factor in cost of living in those countries! If you convert rent in those countries, then power and water bills, then taxes, you will know we have it easy in Nigeria.
Shifting goal-post from where to where?

So you are now saying that low cost of living is a justifiable reason for low minimum wage?

Cost of living is low in Nigeria, because the government has failed to do their responsibilities. So people dig their own bore-holes for water, power their own homes with gen sets etc. Or do you expect the government to charge and tax individuals for light and water that they did not supply? Quality education at basic levels has been left out to the private sector, no good roads! So tell me, how exactly do you want cost of living to be high?

Do you know how much responsible governments put in to subsidize and mechanize agriculture so that there will be food available to all? Do you know what it takes to maintain the environment, keep it sane and green? Since our govt is not doing any of these, how do you expect cost of living to be high? For things people do themselves at minimal insubstaintial scale?

Note that the cost of electricity (in watthr) in Nigeria is not so different from what is obtainable in other countries. The difference is that it is not enough to go round, so people will still buy petrol to supplement!

Get some sense bro. Last response.

You asked how many oil producers sell PMS at higher rate than Nigeria. Well the 3 highest producers are US, Saudi Arabia and Russia. All three sell PMS at higher prices compared to Nigeria
Now what is the minimum wage (in dollars) in these three countries?

Why didn't you dig out this statistics when fuel was selling at N87?

How many oil producing nations sell more expensive than us?

What is the minimum wage in those “fuel-expensive” countries.

How many of these countries run their homes and businesses on PMS?

Lemme give you an example: An average family man “in a fuel expensive country” uses only about 10 liters of petrol per month. Fuel is not scarce and thus not adultrated. 1 liter is equal to 1 liter! No stories, no queues. Also it is well regulated. There are staff buses to take him to work. He also can use air-conditioned public transport to work. He needs no generator to power his apartment, or run his business. If he needs to travel out of town, he takes a well equipped, well-maintained speed train or he flys! 10 litres is okay for weekend outings and rare necessities.

Now answer me: how many liters of fuel (on the average) does a family man need per month in Nigeria? undecided

Is Zon-B-ism the best work you can do in this world?

So lovely! I love when people integrate into their new culture like this.

Lemme use opportunity to rant small.
Early 2000, an American lady loved my uncle like this, even much more. The lady came for missions here in Nigeria, fell in love, next thing marriage. This lady was so warm, so homely, playing around like this lady, trying to speak the language, everything she sees was interesting to her. My uncle was a broke ass. He didn't even have accomodation, he was squating in church house. Even village house na pit laterine angry

But this lady never complained! She got pregnant returned to US to give birth. Processed my uncle's papers. Piam! The guy entered his first international flight to obodo oyibo. After a while, his family gradually starting trooping into the US. Everything was done with the woman's money, sometimes with the help of the church and sometimes with the help of her family. Nonsense man reached there, after three kids, started womanising. SMH

Yet this ungrateful man has the effontery to divorce his wife! America I believe is an accomodating country with “relaxed” laws otherwise they should deport him! His facebook timeline has no mention of the woman yet he poses to be happy. I am personally bitter with him.

Uncle Okey, if you ever read this, go and reconcile with Aunty Jess, you ingrate! angry

See why it is very very risky to do business in Nigeria or with Nigerians

Someone is stealing, directly or indirectly crippling another man's business, and Nigerians are saying “mind your business”. Which business if I may ask?

Thank God I saw this thread. It's saved me a lot.
