Ojukwu wasn't the leader of Ndiigbo, he was the leader of Biafra, which the Eastern minorites were willingly part of. Ojukwu spoke the wishes of Biafran people, and not just Ndiigbo. After all, the western Igbo, wasn't part of Biafra.

The Eastern minorities had always had their destinies in they hands, they survived the pre colonial era without being Igbonized, because of the republican spirit of Ndiigbo, that prevented the unification of Igbo speaking tribes and subsequent conquest of non Igbo speaking tribes that would have followed. The Igbo know our Minorities, and they know us, we never needed the advice of the Yoruba/Arewa to co exist peacefully with our minorities, we sure wont ever need it now.

Nobody is asking or advising you as to what to do with/without your minority as you claimed but all what we are saying/said-60s is/was that let your liberation be limited to your given and accepted states which are: Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu and of course Imo State.

It's quite sad that Ibos couldn't see beyond their noses as a result of their bad attitude towards life and people around them. If they do see beyond their noses, they would have realise what might likely befall them after separation considering their population all over other regions........................

There is no point for Igbos to become upset about this deportation if you ask me. Honestly speaking, it's an avenue to tell other Nigerians that Ibos are capable of taking care of themselves instead of feasting on other people limited resouces.

Take a proper look at Nigeria as a whole, you ll realise that people that should be tagged as parasites are Ibos. why? cos Ibos leave their region in millions to other regions to feast on the little resources meant for the indigenes of those regions and the funny thing about this is d fact that Ibos ll be claiming/beating their chest on how developed their region is when you can't even live in the same region you claimed to be developed. Can you imagine an American living in Mexico bragging about how beautiful America is but refuse to leave Mexico! The few Americans in Mexico are either fugitives, diplomat or American Businessmen. You won't see ordinary Americans moving to Mexico in millions cos they are aware of the fact their country is better than Mexico and that is how it is everywhere around d world but to Igbos..................

Finally, It ll be nice to start getting use to this deportation thing u know cos it would eventually happen. Then, you would either apply for asylum, resident permit or become illegal immigrants in the whole south west. I strongly believe most Ibos would go d way of naturalisation so as to remain in d west. I don't wish for this to happen considering those innocent childs who were born and brought up in the west but with the attitude of their forefathers and these new generation................

Me as an igbo guy if yu call me ijaw..i will slap yu from here or yu call me calabar,i will beat yu like a kid...so next time...think about where she com from b4 yu call her igbo ok...The people that bear igbos name re the one yu can call igbos..ok.....

You and your likes are Pinheads cos if you guys are not, someone who is ready and willing to be part of you should not get upset like that when your name is mentioned. All what that reaction depicted was nothing but hatred at its zenith. Let me cite dis as an example here, a friend who was very close to me back in d days was called my brother by people who don't really know our background but he never get upset cos he love me as a friend.

Nobody forced the Eastern region minorities into Biafra, they were part and parcel of Biafra from the beginning. Even the name "Biafra" was suggested for the new republic by an eastern minority, and not by an Igbo.

However, Biafra is in the past, most Igbos like men, would prefer Republic of Alaigbo to Biafra today, because of the Igbophobia currently plaguing some Eastern minorities today, but would still be open to a new Biafra based on mutual agreement and autonomy amongst the composing ethnic groups in the old eastern region.

Agreed with you but all i said was that this people should be allowed to take their own destinies into their own hands. Igbos demanding/to have demanded for it on their behalf would only depict one thing and that thing is greed.

She isn't Igbo, so she should feel bad when you call her that. I love my Ibibio and Annang neighbours like die, but i would feel bad if you address me as an Ibibio.

Biafra was divided into provinces with each province having a degree of autonomy, because Biafra leaders recognized our diversity.

Lies from pit of hell. Let Biafra demands for their own freedom first instead of sticking their neck out for someone that is not ready to join you in your battle for their freedom. Allow this people to come forward to demand for plebiscite instead of Biafra sticking out their neck out to where it is not needed.

Despite the relationship between Benin kingdom and Yorubas Nation, Yorubas have always maintained that Benin would be d one to determine if they would be part of us or not; the same thing applicable to Yorubas in Kogi state.

Pls wc eastern governor deported pple? This is an honest question cos I didn't hear anything about that?? If actually that happened then that Governor should be taken to court too. What is wrong is wrong.
Do u know how many non yorubas were born in Lagos?? Do u know if any of those deported were born in Lagos??

Yes, it is wrong for Yoruba governor to deport Igbos back to their state of origin but it is ok when an Igbo governor deported others(Ibos reasoning).

Listen, the same Anambra state deported 29 Akwa Ibomlites and Ebonyi state indigenes but the funny thing about this is the fact that Ibos kept quiet about this but when their brothers and sisters were deported from Yoruba land, it becomes a problem....

Biafra already had Minorities in it's government, and was strongly supported by the kings of the minorities, remember that Biafra was divided into provinces, each province had an indigenous governor with a level of autonomy.

Effiong and co had already made it clear that the minorities were with Biafra, Biafra was put to vote by the Eastern region consultative assembly made up of representatives from all ethnic groups in Biafra, before it was declared independent.

There was no issue of the minorities calling for a plebiscite, since they never wanted out of Biafra, but since Gowon and his Yoruba co travellers wanted the world to believe that Ndiigbo was forcefully annexing the minorities, the onus was on they(Arewa-Yoruba alliance), to prove it, via a UN supervised plebiscite, which of course, knowing the truth, they chickened out of, prefering war, knowing that they had the full backing of the imperial powers that be at that era.

My girlfriend name is Nteb.....From Eastern minority, I won't write her full name for safety reason but each time I called her Igbo, she gets upset. Bro, read books written by neutral people then you ll realise that nobody wants to join Biafra nation and d damage your forefathers have done to you guys by telling you their cooked up stories.

Are u serious What Fashola did was verrry wrong and this case should not have been taken 2 a court in Lagos as there won't be a fair judgement as we can see. These pple r Nigerians, as a Nigerian u can live in any part of Nigeria. Have u hrd of any country deporting it's own citizens from one part 2 anoda How can someone be deported in his own country, does it make sense? The wise thing to do if they didn't have accommodation would be to provide public shelter for them. Every state should have public shelters so pple don't sleep on d streets it doesn't matter their state of origin, what matters is their nationality but unfortunately Nigeria is a country where things r upside down n pple r so blinded with tribalistic sentiments they can't reason properly.

What about people who were deported by eastern governors? Ibos!!!! Ibos!!! causing problems in Nigeria since Independence. I swear down, nobody ll miss u guys when you eventually leaves.

Even in developed world-UK to be precise, if you are looking for an accommodation as an homeless british in a particular town/city, the local council in charge of that town/city would ask you to go back to where you are born.

HAUSA AND YORUBA LISTEN AND LISTEN VERY WELL

YOU CLAIM THAT YOUR TRIBE IS THE BEST,BUT WHY IS IS THAT MOST OF YOUR BIG MEN WILL COMMIT SUICIDE TO ENSURE THEY HAVE IBO BABES I BE IJAW SHAA

Then you must have spoken with wrong Yorubas. 98% Yorubas ll always have preference for yorubas ladies with their oblong faces to Ibo ladies with fat face and beards when it comes to marriage. And d same ting applicable to Yorubas staying back in their nation and other countries around d world than moving to the east.

Which nation's oil? Yoruba nation or Arewa nation?

Cos, the last time i checked Ojukwu asked for a plebiscite to be conducted in the eastern minority areas. But Gowon having an intel from the British, knew that Nigeria would lose in the plebiscite.

The very notion that Ndiigbo forced the Eastern Minorities to be part of Biafra was but a Nigerian propaganda, Gowon knew better, that was why he rejected the option of plebiscite in the minority areas offered to him by Ojukwu.

Neither Ojukwu nor Gowon has any right to demand for plebiscite on behalf of minority people. Plebiscite could/should only be demanded for by the people who want it. If you read Nigeria history very well, u ll realise how much Ojukwu was desperate to secede with minority nation along with Biafra.

You're comparing a government of how many years, to a government of decades.

The Hausas have ruled for how many years?

What has Nigeria got to show for it?

Because a southern Christian is in power, everything is suddenly wrong.

Ïdįót

Would you keep that silly mouth of yours shut before i e-slap some divine restoration and senses into your failed destiny and brainless head? Pinhead! isn't obvious to all the existing unborn Nigerian foetus that Jonathan is a complete failure? are the Northerners forcing every stupid action that has been taken or being taken by Jonathan on him?

Jonathan tried to use Boko haram as an excuse for his inability to perform as a president but failed to realise that MEND/others are as bad as Boko Haram to all the past governments but the good thing about the past governments was her ability to tackle Militancy-Economic Boko Haram in the South without resulting to ethnic and religious blackmail/sentiments unlike Mr clueless who personally tried to use Boko haram to divide us along ethnic and religious line instead of him to tackle the problem head on.

Worst president in the history of this great country and his likes keep dividing Nigerians along ethnic and religious line so as to remain in Aso rock but that is not working anymore. And come 14 Feb 2014, Nigerians would ensure that he goes back to Otukpe or wherever the shoeless man comes from.

Na wa for US

So they expect Nigeria to withdraw heavy weapons used in fighting BH for training.

What do they expect Nigeria to fight BH with.?

Fellow Nigerians

Are we sure US is not the main sponsor of BH

Are we sure US is not viewing Nigeria as a sleeping giant that must be destroyed now in order to eliminate a future rival like China India.

Am not against breakup but killing innocent Northern Christians and taking over their ancestral land without their support is evil.

Biafrans I hope we are watching and learning.

Biafrans we must develop our indigenous military technology by encouraging our higher institutions to develop indigenous military technology to counter threats like this.

Keep asking for Biafra nation without clamouring or resulting for/to war is d best thing you can give those innocent women and children in those villages in Biafra nation. Pls, no amount of military technology would save your people from being killed like chickens. You can't do better than Germany and Japan in terms of technology but look at what happen to their people at second world war..... Peace is always a better option.

Rubbish!!! for record purpose, Yorubas are not divided along religious line. I swear down, if not because of attitude of Igbos, Igbo man could win an election in a Yoruba community; that is how liberal Yorubas are..................
