Assalam alahykun dear brothers, you are doing a great job May Allah continue to guide us to the right path. I grew up hearing my father read the Quran every night, he doesn't joke with his prayers and other Islamic teachings. Anytime his Quranic recitation wakes me up in the middle of the night I used to get angry thinking to myself "has this man committed a very great sin when he was younger and is now trying to bribe God with a lot of prayers".? not that I'm not a Muslim or I have problem with his prayers I just feel we are not seeing the impact of the prayers this is a man that was denied promotion by the fed govt for many years, there was a time govt wanted to send him for hajj he was cheated out of it, we weren't rich neither are we poor. climax. fast forward to 2016 my brother went for NYSC in benue state and he was kidnapped, Lo and behold the sorcerer couldn't use him because according to him there were people dressed in white holding sword and threatened to destroy the sorcerer if he dares touch my brother. fearing for his life the sorcerer left my brother alone and started telling him about our family, that my father is very devout and the likes. he released my brother without harming him. lessons learnt the impact of our prayers may not always be monetary and we may not be the beneficiary it may be our children or grandchildren. Questions. I believe that there is no dignity in poverty and I don't want to be poor neither do I want to look for money in haraam ways, is there any Surah in the Quran anyone looking for real wealth can be reading? my dad reads one tira called Ida seifi alot it is written in ancient Arabic, I tried reading it once but couldn't. what is the tira used for.? does it have any negative impact? Jazakumu lahi khyran as I anticipate your answers. cc empiree, Ladunal,. thanks for the time. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

MIKOLOWISKA:One Nigeria is a monster that feeds fat on the blood of the citizens, I pray you don't lose loved ones to this evil contraption called Nigeria. I am a proud conservative yoruba man and nothing concern me with any igbo, hausa or any other Nigerian ethnic group. I hate seeing them all in my south West, they should go back to their f*cking land. 6 Likes 1 Share |

The greatest lie ever told to the Nigerian people is that there is unity in diversity, a nation with over 250 ethnic groups can never speak with one voice, we can never have the same destiny. The Europeans that sold the gospel of unity in diversity to Africans don't even practice it, they are divided along ethnic lines. Nigeria can never move forward our philosophy of life is just too different. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

God bless the op for this wonderful piece. If you don't leave the shores of this shameless country you might be tempted to think Africa as a whole is f*cked up but the truth is it is Nigeria that has signed pact with backwardness. I was utterly amazed at the level of development I saw when I visited ivory Coast last year. The truth is Nigeria is getting worse everyday I can't wait for this evil country to collapse 5 Likes |

pheyhi: Poverty and wealth is a thing of the mind, how many a times have we seen a person who hit the jackpot and won millions in lotto only to go back to poverty, the truth is such person doesn't have the right mindset to maintain riches. 2 Likes 1 Share |

pheyhi: Say no more I'm the guy for you I am the S in sapiosexual. On a serious note part of the perks that come with dating a sapiosexual is that you guys can never be poor as the intellect is the greatest possession a person can have and with that you will always find your way to defeat poverty and in addition help raise a more intelligent generation. |

babyfaceafrica: In saner climes older universities tend to focus more on post graduate programs because due to their experience and age they are in the best capacity to train lecturers that would in turn lecture in younger schools. In this respect UI has distinguished itself having 30% - 70% post graduate to under graduate rate this can be verified from NUC. UI is also the best ranked university in Nigeria according to Times Higher Education ranking and webometric ranking surpassing so many universities in even Europe. 1 Like |

The Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State, has set up an $8 million World Bank-assisted information and communication technology (ICT) driven-knowledge park, tagged African Centre of Excellence ( OAU ACE). This is even as the institution is calling for more participation from the private and public sector to tap into the potential of the ICT park. According to the pro-chancellor and the chairman of the university council, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, a one-day academia-industry engagement held in Lagos, with the theme “Rethinking Academia-Industry Engagement,” OAU was ready to create a platform where the university and the industries can jointly identify challenges facing the country and provide solutions through well-grounded research. He said the OAU ACE is one of the 16 centres in Africa supported by the World Bank as ICT parks to nurture innovation for jobs and wealth creation on the continent. Ogunbiyi stated that park is being positioned as a recognised model ICT park and hub in the West African sub-region, linking academia and industry to proffer solutions to local problems. He said, “The intent here is that such solutions be innovative and commercialised. It is our desire, therefore, that companies can take up structures or space in the park, creating proximity to the university’s intellectual infrastructure of our faculty and the reservoir of knowledge resident within our active student population.” Similarly, Prof. Adesola Aderounmu, president, Nigeria Computer Society, said that the park would provide a launch pad for start-up companies borne out of the university’s research activities and collaboration with ICT companies, who would have the competitive advantage of proximity and direct access to the intellectual infrastructure and output of the university. He noted that the park aims to create a regionally-recognised model driven by hig-quality postgraduate education for uptake and commercialization of research and technology to advance the growth of the ICT industry.
