Politics / Suspension Order: Court Restrains PDP From Further Action On Amaechi by gbame(m): 9:30pm On Jun 01, 2013
Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State got temporary reprieve Friday when a Rivers High Court sitting in Port Harcourt restrained the Peoples Democratic Party from taking any further action against him pending the hearing of a substantive suit challenging his suspension from the party.
The National Working Committee of the PDP suspended Amaechi on Monday citing his refusal to rescind his decision to recall the sacked Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Mr. Timothy Nsirim, and 17 councillors.
However, the governor, who was consistently maintained that the council heads were sacked by the State Assembly, headed to court to challenge his suspension from the party.
In his ruling, Justice Emmanuel Ogbuji issued a directive stopping the PDP from going beyond Amaechi’s suspension until the matter was heard.

No limit. It all depends on the individual.

Can you marry a ninety eight year old man? or better still can you marry Nelson Mandela now?

@OP a ten year age difference is ok because women tend to mature faster than men especially after child birth when they are nursing a baby. You will thus regret marrying a women close to your age.

seunmsg: 1, If this document was prepared yesterday after the election, why was april typed on it instead of may?

2, The governor of Yobe did not participate in d election, how come his name appeared on dat list?

3, The election result was counted and announced by gov. Uduaghan of Delta state. He has not come out to dispute d result he collated and announced. So, what's his name doing on that list?

The truth is, this document was prepared long b4 yesterday. The GEJ/Akpabio camp taught they would win the election based on d signature collated in d document. But unfortunately, some of d govs. Dissapointed them and voted 4 Amaechi.

I can't seem to find the name of the governor of Yobe state on the list. Do you have another list?

KnowAll: if the so called Nigerian elites and leaders, the "cream-dela-cream" of our society can rig a simple election involving 36 individuals then we have some serious issues in that country undecided , how then can we ever conduct a free and fair elections involving millions of people?

The election was not rigged. They were just disappointed that their candidate lost and they are not prepared to accept Amaechi as Chairman.

Tolexander: Actually, in my own area, the plaudit reason i think causes the act is most times in the night when there is light, and before waking up the following morning, the PHCN might have off the light. Some people always forget to switch off their light before going to their working place, so when the light is restored, the bulbs will be on till they come back to switch them off.

I agree with you also, I also think if you are using a prepaid meter and you are conscious of electricity consumption you will always switch off all electrical appliances when not in use.

Nairaland / General / Re: Concerning The Controversial "New" Rules Of Nairaland by gbame(m): 7:54am On May 09, 2013
Seun: My Fellow Nairaland Members,

Your mixed reaction to the "new" rules have not gone unnoticed. While most people actually liked them, many people had one complaint or the other. To address your concerns, I have modified rule 1,4, 13, 15, and 21. I believe you will be pleased with the changes: https://www.nairaland.com/1026/nairaland-forum-rules-regulations

This rules are not as new as many people think. They are essentially the rules we have been enforcing all along, but they have been expressed in a more compact form to encourage you to actually read them. I created the 1st draft on the 7th of April and my fellow moderators gave me a lot of feedback which I incorporated into the rules before publishing them yesterday.

Rule 17 is the most controversial rule because it sounds unfair. My fellow moderators have debated this rule at length and it could not be changed. We cannot extend the prohibition against offence to other religions because that limits your freedom of speech, and we cannot remove that rule without jeopardizing security and the safety of lives. Sorry about this.

Best regards,
Seun Osewa.

Seun, I didn't want to make a comment until I saw your reaction to Rule 17. Your reaction is VERY DISAPPOINTING. It shows that you are not only a Muslim, but a biased one. Also it shows that your sponsors not "fellow moderators" are biased Muslims. If you don't know what you have just done, consider this. You mean "post anything that could be considered offensive to other religions (Islam excluded), especially in the religions section. It means if I post anything offensive against other religions I will not not be banned, but if I post anything offensive about Islam I will be banned. If you don't know how to re-phrase Rule 17, let me do it for you.
RULE 17 RE-PHRASED
Don't post anything that could be considered offensive to any religion, especially in the Religion section.

I think it depends on the type of marker you are paying for. Some markers cost more from what I'm made to understand. Like the 3-in-1 markers. If that is the one you are going for, its not not $30 but $50.
