Business / Re: Hausa Ajami/Arabic Inscriptions Removed From New N100 Note by gbengadada2004(m): 4:00am On Nov 18, 2014 |
The new Hundred Naira note: Jonathan removes the Arabic inscription at the edge, yet they say he is clueless. For those that doesn't know about the real Meaning and origin of the Arabic inscription on our national currencies. It was introduced in our country in 1989 when Rt Gen Badamosi Babangida led Nigerians to Arabic league of Nation. The only way to let them know that Nigeria is an Islamic state is to insert an Arabic inscription in one of our national symbols. The inscriptions in our currencies which means "Arab rules the world" is an indication to them that Nigeria is an Islamic nation which in turn aided or facilitated the acceptance of Babangida's application. Nigeria have been paying Millions of Dollars as a yearly dues to this Organisation as a member. This is a welcome change. How many of those Hausa can even read the Arabic self? The inscription using our major Nigerian languages (Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa) is enough. To the ignorant ones trying to justify the Arabic inscription, you need to know that the major aim of these people is to ISLAMISE NIGERIA. 4 Likes 1 Share |

But am not too happy with the comment of coach Pellegrini about this Nigeria wonder boy. Hear what he said “Kelechi is just 17 years old and he’s a very important player for us in the future. He demonstrated today what he can do in the future. It depends on the way he takes this profession, but I think he’s a good talent. We've not decided yet (what the plan is for him) because it’s not easy. He’s just 17 and sometimes that’s the problem. We’ll see what he will do in the future." Manuel Pellegrini need to remember that there's nothing like future, future, future..... here. Get this guy work permit and get him straight into the team. One doesn't need to be an old man before making regular appearances for his club. |

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/contending-issues-ASUU-resolved-wike/ All contending issues with ASUU resolved- Wike The Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike has disclosed that all contending issues between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government have been resolved. He made the disclosure in a statement following his meeting with the leadership of the union on Wednesday. He also lauded the patriotism and strong will demonstrated by members of the union to uplift the standard of education in the country. The minister, who had earlier threaten members of the union with sack following their refusal to call off the over five months old strike in the country’s universities, stressed that ASUU want the best for the country. According to him, “I am very pleased to announce that all contending issues between ASUU and the Federal Government have been resolved to the satisfaction of the parties. Let me emphasize that we recognize and appreciate ASUU’s patriotic role and commitment towards ensuring that our Universities are well-funded, resourced and run like their counterpart in other parts of the world. Thus, we are all partners in progress and there is no victor; no vanquished in the struggle of this nature for as long as our goals remain noble, not actuated by parochial interests, and targeted at moving our nation forward”. He also assured that the Jonathan’s administration is serious about revitalizing all universities and will continue to fund them as a matter of priority. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/contending-issues-ASUU-resolved-wike/#sthash.lAVEiVc7.idO8Dkvk.dpuf |
Education / Re: ASUU Dismisses Fg’s Threat To Sack Lecturers by gbengadada2004(m): 1:26pm On Nov 30, 2013 |
Sincerely, I don't think threatening ASUU to go back to class (without any concrete and documented agreement) is a rational thing to do. Nigerian leaders are shameless. Primary schools in some other countries are better than the best Nigerian university. I spent my first few months abroad weeping. I was asking God and myself: ''why is Nigeria like this''? Nigerian students sit on benches (some don't even have seats) including where I lecture. Many lecturers do not have office blocks. I have never used power point to teach in Nigeria (because there is no facility to carry it). Researches are not funded. Lecturers are paid peanuts. I told someone my salary and he was surprised. Lecturers earn over £4000 monthly (1millon naira) in the UK. They have grants (some over £1million in 2 years) to conduct research. They have access to world-class journals free, textbooks and other teaching materials. Many teach just one or two courses (I was teaching 8 in a week). Many of the people that kept Nigeria where it is today have their children abroad, and these children are sponsored with stolen wealth (I know how many are in my school). Sometimes I wonder if Nigerian political actors have conscience at all. 1 Like |

God will not do for man what man can do for himself. God have answered our prayers in Nigeria. We need action from Mr. President. Arrest those that should be arrested. Lock up in prison those that should be in prison. Settle with ASUU. Fight corruption in the high and low places in the country. Many nations that doesn't believe in God are doing fine. Enough of this hypocritical practice of kneeling down for public prayer from Pastors! Lets do the right thing. 2 Likes |

That scripture you just quoted from Mal 3: 1 is referring to Elijah who later came as John the Baptist, and was the fore runner of Jesus Christ. This is fulfilled in John the Baptist. Please read (Matt. 11: 7 -14; Mark 1:2; Luke 1:76) and stop preaching heresy. 1 Like |

What a senseless government that have no regard for her senior citizens! They cannot pay the pension of their retires, but FG can approved about £146,000 (N36m) for the payment of pensions of five former heads of service that served in the country during the colonial era. Even if we did not utter any word, these demons in government are already cursed. |

Education / Re: Nigerian University That Deserves To Be Among World's Top 100 Universities? by gbengadada2004(m): 7:29am On Sep 19, 2013 |
Red_Card: Earlier this month, a list of the World's Top 100 Universities was published (anyone who can post a link to the list should do it please because I don't know how to create a link). As usual, universities in the US lead the list followed by the UK universities. No Nigerian University will be among the top 100 in the world for several reasons. Education is money. Countries like South Africa that have many of their Universities highly rated in Africa are really investing in education. You can imagine, the South African president saying that 50% of their budget goes to education. Ghana is allocating 30% of their budget to education. Nigeria only allocated 8% to education, yet we want to be highly rated like some of these Universities. Lecturer student ratio is another basic thing they use in rating Universities. In many of our Universities in Nigeria you will see one lecturer teaching 1,000 students in some cases. That is absurd. Many of our Universities don't subscribe to the journals in different fields that will help the students in their research work. Libraries are loaded with outdated books. Poor internet facility. How can be be highly rated? Nigerians are very intelligent, they are lecturing in many of this Universities that are highly rated. However, our government have not provided a conducive environment for them to be able to come back home. 6 Likes |
Education / Re: Chemical Engineering Vs Petroleum Engineering by gbengadada2004(m): 7:11am On Sep 18, 2013 |
primus_maximus: Pls this your opinion in terms of job prospect is it in relation to getting job in oil and gas industry? I have to ask this because, in these days of telecommunication apart from Electrical, Computer Engineering have more job prospect than Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum and the other ones you have listed. I have so many jobless friends that studied Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum etc. Infact the Head of Department of Chemical Engineering in my University once said that if he was opportuned to choose course as an undergraduate again, he will choose Computer Engineering. As an electrical or computer engineer, banks and telecommunication companies like mtn, glo, etisalat, etc are there to employ you. 1st- Electrical 2nd- Computer Others can follow. |

Programming / Re: Why Waste 4 Years On Computer Science In University? by gbengadada2004(m): 2:15am On Sep 10, 2013 |
p.josh: Why I agree with the fact that you don't have to study Computer Science to be a programmer. I want to emphatically state that Computer Science is more than just programming. The fact that you can write programs doesn't make you a Computer Scientist. To say that the study of Computer Science is a waste of time is just like saying the following: Why study Mechanical Engineering when you can go and learn mechanic and be repairing cars? Why study Electrical Engineering when you can learn how to do wiring and repair electronic gadgets? Why study Computer Engineering when you can learn how to do networking, do system installation and repair monitors? Why study Agric Engineering when you can have your own farm, hire tractors and other farm equipment and produce bounty harvest? Why study Medicine when you can become native doctor and be healing the sick? After all we have seen many people in the news who practised medicine for so many years without going to any medical school. Why study Nursing when many 'iya agbebi' in some churches are delivering pregnant women safely? The list is endless. I studied Computer Science and I have never for once regretted that I did so. Today I am a PhD student researching in the area of Swarm Robotics. 4 Likes |

Madan Okonjo Iweala is not been sincere. This is just an attempt to blackmail ASUU. Didn't Governor Suswan said that FG have set aside N100 billion for this cause that ASUU is fighting? She is just misinforming the public. No money in the Nigerian economy but she is collecting her salary in dollar! Nigeria must make a choice, why can't the senators, ministers, governors and house of representative members make a choice to reduce their salary for the sake of the masses? After all Kenyan president did the same thing. 1 Like |
