Ekomumu, are you referring to Mr. Femi? So discombulated fashola wan send mr femi back to ogbomosho. Very soon fashola will ask you to remove the Eko in your id and replace it with oyo where you come from.

Little do you know that virtually all markets in Lagos have yorubas as their spokespersons for obvious reasons but brace up for it, we have plans for your criminal brothers that have illegally occupied government land and return to the barren SE every Xmas to boast that they they own Lagos

Yoruba people are truly tolerant. Imagine! 30yrs of illegality condoned

What does Oyo state have to show apart from the dirty smelly Ibadan and the numerous motor parks lorded over by NURTW minions? Negro pleazeeeee!!!!!!! Sit your ignorant, lazy Yoruba ass before your computer (that is if u have one) and do your research. Or better still, take the next available flight down to enugu and see things for yourself. I'm tired of replying to these Yoruba lowlives.

My post was informed by research and FYI I've been to places you can only dream of in Enugu and I'm still not convinced

Beaf: IMHO, if the country were to split today, the SS would do best followed by the Middle Belt and SE (the Western parts of the SE would do exceedingly well). The core-North will really suffer and the SW will see a lot of brain drain, port business, oil coy hq's, banks etc following the money and heading for the SS. They will fare much better than the core-North though.

The SS will either stay together or form three countries; Cross River, Akwa Ibom and parts of Rivers could form one; Bayelsa, parts of Rivers and Delta could form another; parts of Delta and Edo could form a third.

The SS may have oil but no market for it but if they can take advantage of it through efficient leadership, they just may succeed but the SS leaders I see are all ravenous wolves

Other countries on the west African coast have already discovered oil and even in Ogun and Lagos, large deposits of oil have been discovered.

However, I believe the SE will lose the most simply because it is a landlocked state and the pressure on the limited and in some cases non existent infrastructure will be unthinkable as Igbos from other regions of Nigeria congregate in Igboland which barely larger than Oyo State.

The North can also prosper if they take advantage of their vast agricultural resource and thrive on agro allied industries

For the SW, the story of its development will be in the inherent potential it has in its people, its rescources and the enlightened elite it has. Rewind back to the Western Region and compare the rate of development of each region and do the maths. If the SW had not been bundled under the guise of federalism into the One Nigeria project, by now SA would have been second best in Africa.

Which part of the trustees don't these illiterates understand?

The late coward had said she should replace him. Is that so hard to understand?

These Igbo people never cease to amaze me. In a country called Biafra, that is about the size of Oyo State, with half of the land eroded away, another quarter occupied by floods and still yet they've not been able to add value to their land and they claim to be the ones that have made other regions prosper. If one million Igbos in Lagos have caused Lagos to prosper, how come over 20million Igbos in Enugu, Ebonyi, Amambra, Imo and Abia haven't made the states prosper? How come Oyo State is still more prosperous than the most prosperous Igbo state? How come even Ogun State, which is the number 3 state in the SW, is almost as prosperous as the most prosperous Igbo state? How come the unemployment rate in the SE is the highest after the north? How come poverty is the highest in the SE after the north? How come they have the largest concentration of crime and criminals?

I just wished Yorubaland was a country on its own. You can't compare the rapid rate of development we had as a region (Western Region) to the crap these guys from the other regions have brought to slow down our development and drag us back to their archaic levels.

And Oju Iku's lawyer said he sent his children to the best schools? What has this one been smoking? Or it's just a typical Igbo way of reasoning? Conceited, stewpid, arrogant, dumb and sparsely intelligent.

If he's ranting and sulking this badly on just a few properties his father left behind that I can count with the fingers on one hand, what would he have done if he was one of Awolowo or MKO Abiola's sons?

My friend, I strongly disagree with you. People don't go borrowing not because they can't fford it, neither did Anambra not borrow because it can't afford it, heck, Anambra is economically sound, however, it called financial prudence and responsibility.

I disagree once more that development in third wold countries can be hastened if financed through debt. You say these things very loosely, we're talking about govt borrowing here, or is govt ONLY responsible for development? Aren't private developers involved? If they borrow, we should count it towards the government?

There are types of financing which doesn't result to debt to a govt. The irresponsibility of governance for not generating enough revenues to cover cost is what leads to borrowing. Borrowing doesn't ask you where you're a G5 or third world nation, the bottom line is the responsibility. There are developments where it's equity financing, where you and I are stakeholders in a project, the govt doesn't really have to borrow.

For instance, in my state, there's a major Toll road that led to Dulles airport, guess what, VA govt did not spend a penny on it, rather VA gave the FFX, Herndorn, Mclean counties a contribution - all these counties own the more than $2billion road to Dulles, and YES they collect toll.

Just like the Dulles Rail Extension, this is pure equity without loans -this is between WMATA and other counties. The counties I listed (thru tax payers) build the rail track (by WMATA) and WMATA operate the trains. Technically WMATA isn't really contributing anything other than trains. Although, VA govt did give about $250million subsidy due to Virginians will ride it.

My point is, regardless of third world or not, if top states in Nigeria maximize their potentials (rather than govt trying to own everything resulting to borrowing), let the public invest in it, development will skyrocket. It doesn't mean that govt have to borrow to do everything

The public will only or should I say rather invest in a state or economy that will guarantee sustainable RoI and the only way this will happen is when there's adequate infrastructure provided by government and government can execute all its infrastructure on a BOT or PPP platform. It is an economic sin not to provide basic infrastructure in the 21st Century and expect private sector powered development. You can see what has happened in Lagos and is happening now in Oyo and Ogun. Investors will naturally respond to a government's plan. If you take loans to stimulate the economy through provision of infrastructure, other sectors of that economy will grow with it. It's simple logic.

Nwa_Nimo: . . I can no longer take being refered to as a Nigerian.

To me the other tribes that make up this entity are an embarrasment.

I will stand up for anything good or bad an Igbo person does.

But as for the other tribes I just no longer want to be affiliated with them.

Here are 4 steps to achieving your aim:

1. Move out of Yorubaland
2. Admit that if you have to stand up for anything bad an Igboman does, you'll be on your feet all your life
3. Burn your Nigerian passport
4. Call the Press and do exactly what Oju Iku did on Tuesday, May 30, 1967

I sincerely pray you succeed and learn from the coward Oju Iku's folly so that Yorubaland will be free from the nuisance your people constitute

Nope, Anambra doesn't owe.

He has nothing to prove to you Rhino, firstly, the onus is on you to prove his claims wrong, after examining the evidence, then he'll in turn prove yours wrong.

I don't know if you recalled few months ago, perhaps months after the subsidy saga, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released their reports of healthy states and non-healthy states, and serious indebted states. Though I'm not good at this, perhaps, Nairaland searches can help, Anambra was amongst 4 healthy states out of 36 states that were debt free, Anambra DID NOT, and I repeat, DID NOT have ANY DEBT on it's books as of the time of the recent report. As a matter of fact, they had reinvested their earnings, and even took a large chunk of Sabmiller SA (which obviously I opposed). So please, if we're to go by any stats at all, Anambra does not owe money. Nevertheless, the FMF and CBN data is there, perhaps, they can shed more light on your inquiry.

Well what can I say, they don't owe because they can't afford it but just in case he's too dumb to realize, development in the third world can only be hastened if financed though debt. Take it or leave it . If you don't understand this, please ask an economist but to your point, every state in Nigeria owes so don't lie to use that Anambra doesn't

Politics / Re: Anambra Flags-Off Construction Of Three Bridges by geez1: 4:23pm On Dec 03, 2012
kaeto: No! This is not lagos state, this is Anambra state. The funds used in executing the projects were generated from savings, it wasn't borrowed from IMF like your lagos state. The last time I checked, lagos under fashola's regime is highest in both internal and external debts. Now the FG stopped the lazy lagos borrow culture, fashola has started constructing gutter, not even drainages, to even complete the gutter is big task so they are inspecting for now, pending when the borrow ban is lifted.

So Anambra doesn't owe right? I'm sure these bridges are even financed through loans. Prove me wrong.

Now which of these two men is living beyond his means? One that makes N100m every month and owes N1bn or one that makes N10m every month but owes N500m. The last time I checked, the LASG has not filed for bankruptcy neither has any FI called the state unbankable. The state has always met its financial obligations and every reasonable government that seeks to develop will borrow. It's the rule of the game and Lagos has never borrowed a cent more than it has the capacity to pay back.

While I agree that it will be cheaper bringing in the facilitators, there are some experiences you can never get in a class

They may sit as observers in a legislative sitting in the US as well as get other hands on tips

All the same, I believe the training could have been cheaper using a video conferencing to achieve the above

Don't you ever get overwhelmed by the sheer scale of your stupidity? Don't you ever get tired of this "your state" blah blah blah, "Yoruba" blah blah blah foolishness? So you are the one to tell me about Adekunle Fajule Way that I ply daily? In a bid to defend the indefensible, you resort to telling bare-faced lies on the internet?

I couln't resist the urge to point out how silly you are with your clannish nonsense. However, that is something I would never deign to do henceforth.

I have an office on Oduduwa Street and I pass through Adekunle Fajuyi at least once every week. There's a pothole just before the bend that takes you to the railway line but the road is still largely motorable and the potholes on that street can be fixed in a matter of hours. Won't even take more than 15sqm of a square cut to get it fixed. It's certainly not as bad as you've painted it. It's just a small portion of the road and not the entire stretch. From the Isaac John junction to Femi Falana's chambers is more than half the entire stretch and its all smooth and its so easy to come here and criticize the LASG when your brothers and sisters come all the way from the east to over stretch our infrastructure and despite that, you can't in any way compare the roads in the SW to those death traps and erosion ravaged lands of the SE
