Culture / Re: War In Benin Kingdom As Ogiamen Names Himself Ruler... by gentleheart1(f): 8:12pm On Mar 07, 2016
xerxes2001:
Evian was the younger brother of Owodo. and mark it the only brother of Owodo, This brings us to the Ogiso Oliha quarrel. Qgiso Evian made his son heir Apparent and Oliha broke ranks in the King making process because Evian had prospered and his wealth extended beyond Benin. He spread rumour that the childless Owodo had a child which Evian disputed however he Evian asked for proof. (It should be noted that Evian was crowned Ogiso after Oliha and some chiefs misled him and chased him out of benin and Owodo died in exile. After this different calamities befell benin some include incest, sicknesses such as plagues etc The same Oliha begged Evian to ascend the throne and he killed the monster giant who was the captain of the Udo army that was carrying off young ladies in the market) The same Oliha sets out to Uhe (Ile Ife) and brings Omonayan (Oromiyan) however he fails to speak Benin language instead Evian demanded for Oduduwa (Izoduwa) and vowed that if he could speak the language he would vacate the throne. Evian chases out Oranmiyan from his presence but establishes him in Uselu. Ogiamien ancestral story had it that Oliha dare not bring Oduduwa to benin because he was full blooded yoruba and could not speak the language. This means that the benin people will revolt against him on finding out. Evian was suceeded by Ogiso Irebor Ogiamien. Other issues that were disputed and are still today are 1. Inability to prove that the Eweka Dynasty is a prince in Ogiso Family (Ogiamien is the only surviving prince in Ogiso Family House) 2. The Edion of Benin considered the dispute a purely family matter and begged that Ogiamien should sell the land of Benin to the Oba for there to be peace which he did and gave Eweka only Ogbe 3. That till date it is only Ogiamien that has his own set of chiefs he has even his own Oliha 4. That Ogiamien is not a palace chief nor is any of his chiefs. 5. Ogiamien Palace is the Oldest standing structure in the whole of Edo state the source of all Edo Authority 6. The door we have for the Oba on the Ogiamien Palace wall requires that he bends to enter the palace.. Dear Richard you dont need to believe it, that is the story of Ogiamien Family. Note Ogiamien family is not in contention with anybody or the yoruba leadership that currently has identity crisis and is ruling Benin Today.

Hello please what does Ogbe mean in benin?

I like Nike Oshinowo too. She is a lady of panache and elegance. Her bravery is admirable, despite all the challenges life threw her way. I love reading her interviews.
Then Chinenye Ochuba too.

Nike is too artificial, I prefer Toyin to her.

for all those shouting Benin has nothing to do with Yoruba, there Is no reason why Yoruba should claim Benin unjustly, is it their epic italy prostitution or idolatry that makes you feel you have gone back 100 yrs. Benin d sodom and Gomorrah of Nigeria, headquarter of d devil, a place where fathers sell house to send their daughters to italy and everybody think there Is nothing wrong in sleeping with my principal who had been harassing me sexully during nysc, they worship their idol in broad day light in d open and even announce their cult meetings on radio. i shudder at their primitiveness and barbarism.

Excuse me I repeat Benin ladies are hundred times better than your ladies. In all ramifications Benin ladies has it all, you can die of envy for all I care.

Too late to tag benin as Sodom and Gomrroah of Nigeria, the whole world knows that title belongs to you nutheads. You all have gays and lesbians known all over the whole world one of them is even a gay activist and we haven't also forgotten the story of how you people sleep with animals too.

The devil resides amongst you Yorubas that's why you all kill and perform all sorts of juju just to get wealth.

Go ask your real father if ur mother will b truthful about ur history.

The Binis were never sold into slavery even if they were it was 1 in every 50,000 yorubas sold into slavery by their own people. We took slaves to work our farmland n never participated in d massive sale of slaves.

Funny part of it was women were even d ones selling off ur forefathers. D efunsetans and madam Tinubu only became wealthy be trading in slaves of their fellow yorubas.

D real Oduduwa kids except Oba of Benin are all in west Indies sold into slavery the ones parading themselves now as kings are northerners who conquered d reminants and became their overlords.

If you doubt ask ur Oonis alakes n d rest to carry out a DNA test u will discover that most of dem are even Igbos n Fulanis who conquerred most Yoruba territories.

You really know the history of the Yorubas very well, the great madam Tinubu made her wealth through selling of slaves. I got to read about her while in Uni.

So you are angry that Yoruba came back from slavery, while you can't remember where your people were sold from, and had to be reenslaved and ended up as porters enroute to Nigeria? Well that's the difference between smart Yoruba and you dumb slaves. You drank your brains so tey you couldn't find your way when set free? No wonder your "oba of benin" drank his senses off, talking shhitt upon shhitt before he died and was buried like a dog.

Nope only Yorubas were sold as slaves because you all don't have royalty in your blood, a true blue blood will can never be sold as slaves. But have you asked yourself why it was very easy to sell you Yorubas and more than all other tribes lol.

No we don't need a king to marry this kinda woman! It's not in my place to judge but then again these benin girls or girls who generally live this dirty life hopping from one rich guy to another needs to be disgraced. She found another prey so easily, as at December she was still married to the guy in dubai, 2months later she's set to marry the Ooni, is that ordinary? Is she the most beautiful girl in the world? You shouldnt cry over nonsense, i'm not sorry at all.

I didn't want to comment but you just pissed me off by writing trash about Benin girls.
You Yorubas ladies are the worst ladies a man can get married to from sleeping with different men even while married to marrying multiple men. Yoruba ladies are the real definition of prostitution and juju, we know you all and your pretense.

Validated:

The transporter needs spare parts for his vehicle. The spares are imported with dollars which is currently #400. The maker of maggi sources raw materials some of which are imported at #400/$. The list goes on and on. At the end, the transporter will add some money so that he could repair his vehicles sometime later, the market woman would add some money so that she can also pay for tomatoes, the tomatoes grower will add some money so that he can get fertilizer and buy new implements (some of which are imported @ #400/$) for next farming season, etc. It is called multiplier effect, my brother, not "greed" as you postulated.

Unfortunately, a government that is budgeting #6Trillion of which about #2.0 Trillion is going to be from borrowing is not austere. A government planning about 50% deficit budgeting is to say the least highly "unserious" and a fatality going somewhere to happen. I pity those of you in Nigeria for the next 7 - 10 years, it would be a very sad story to tell. Wait and see, soon, government would introduce price controls and soldiers would be forcing people to sell their goods at controlled prices. The people will hail Buhari then. Thereafter, the siege would start. Commodity prices would skyrocket like the dollar is doing now. Toilet paper would become so scarce that you would be buying newsprint for use. Milk and other essential commodities would out of the reach of the average Nigerians, since no sensible trader would import items at #400/$ and sell at #197/$, the middle class that is now growing would be wiped out as job losses would become daily news. My advice, go and farm now. The farm produce would atleast provide fufu and amala for your family, because, the abakiliki rich would be for the rich only. This is the Buhari you voted in. He did in 1984 and for 20 months, Nigerians saw hell. Now he has not just 20 months, but 48 months and even likely to go further as he has shutdown opposition. Enjoy the CHANGE. Next time, you would look before you leap!!!

I like your analysis so on point, just explained something similar to a friend now.

What annoys me most is that the foools still have us pay thousands of cash for supplying zilch...

It's really frustrating and annoying, when I look back at times I just nod my head in regret.

Was just complaining to a friend now about the light situation and she was also sad because the prices of food stuffs has gone up and she said a bag of pure water now is 150.

I wonder if Nigeria is under a curse, Buhari lacks common sense and his economic policies can't solve the problem.
There is absolutely no hope in this country and people are seriously losing their jobs while Buhari is busy globetrotting.

And I provided the map. I also asked u to provide ur own map. let's see u provide a 16th- 18th century Map that expresses bini empire to be larger than Oyo

bini empire that was not as large as Oyo state nigeria? grin grin

the next thing you will say bini empire controlled all the land up till Europe, that you even gave white people Europe to settle grin grin grin . ...don't lie, I've heard bini people claim this

another weak attempt to save face. .. do you have proof that Oyo sold it's own people?

What map are you reffering to the one that was sketched by hungry Yoruba historians right?
Any way no need to argue about the slave part which is very obvious, Yorubas were the only tribe that had returnees of slaves who are also known as the Creoles.

Please stop comparing Oyo empire to that of Bini they are totally different empires. Is it the same Oyo empire that was formed by outsiders or you are reffering to another one?

Your useless Oyo empire that was conquered by the Nupes is what you are using to compare the bini empire.
Y'all should just shut it bunch of dimwits.

Izoduwa or imazoduwa(however you like to call it) aka oduduwa is an outcast from Bini kingdom due false allegation against him. I know why Yoruba people still think he fell from the sky, because he said he was the son of ogiso which means something from sky in Benin. ISO means sky in Benin.

As I'm writing this I'm sweating profusely,I've been practically angry at everyone since I came back from work.
For the past six years, I've not experienced terrible power failure like this. Our transformer picks supply from a 33kv line, which make us have at least 15 hours supply of electricity everyday, except if there is a major fault.
Then,N500 petrol can remain in my generator for 3 months,I hardly switch it on because I also have inverter.
I came back from work,I was told we only have 15 minutes power supply since morning.
Nowhere to buy petrol, I have tried and tried, the heat is damn too much.
I decide to sit outside and it seems some force command the air not to blow.

Price of food stuff has increased sharply, what kind of Country is this. Why is the word Buhari synonymous with suffering.
I just remembered that our president did not handle any personal successful business since he left office as a head of state.
Look at his cattle farm, the cows be like something wey get AIDS.

Frankly speaking, some people are like that, they are failure personified.
I pray it won't be the case this time around because it involves all of us.

I don't even know what to type again.I just tire

What state in Nigeria are you in? The power situation lately has deteriorated, the heat is just too much and yet the tarrifs has been increased. What type of country are we living in and why do we keep having dunces at the helms of affairs?

That's one of your made-up stories as always. You have no good traceable history or heritage save for MADE TO ORDER you make up daily as you go.

Your impostor you call oba is a slave that is suffering from inferiority complex.

Everything that makes you human beings has Yoruba written on it, it shows you have always be under us, and nothing can change that. If Yoruba were the kind that do not allow the small around them to grow, your people won't have the gut to talk trash today.

You Yorubas don't have good traceable history that's why you claimed that your Oduduwa the masquerade fell from the sky and created you nutheads and I guess that's why y'all can't reason properly.
