Crime / Angry Man Pulls Gun, Threatens To Blow Off Heads Of FRSC Officials Who Told Him by gidiloaded(f): 4:44pm On Sep 19, 2016
There was a little drama in Abuja yesterday, precisely at Durumi area a few yards away from Winner’s Chapel when a man, alleged to be a member of the church pulled a gun on Federal Road Safety officials (FRSC) who tried to impound his vehicle on an charge that he and his wife did not put on their seat belts while driving.

A video footage trending on the social media captures the man saying he would blow off the heads of the officials during an argument that ensued thereafter.

The man who was driving a Honda Accord car with plate number SD01-RBC pointed his shut gun very menacingly at the officials while his wife backed him.

The officials who seemed helpless in the situation however got a video clip of the argument as well as the plate number of his car and released the video on social media with a call to Nigerians to identify the man for arrest.

Politics / Nigerians May Die Before Buhari Completes Reforms – Shehu Sani by gidiloaded(f): 12:29pm On Sep 04, 2016
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Local and
Foreign Debts, Senator Shehu Sani, has warned the Federal Government to put short-term measures in place to cushion the effect of the current economic crisis on the Nigerian masses or risk the people dying before he completes his reforms.

The lawmaker, who represents Kaduna-Central
Senatorial District at the Senate, told Sunday
Punch that many lives would have been lost
before the current reforms of the President
Muhammadu Buhari government are completed.

According to him, “If you happen to be in a
position of power, inasmuch as you want to
bring reforms that are painful, you have to
understand the need for you to carry the people along because if you keep on bringing reforms and continue to unleash hardship on the people, you may as well say there is a paradise but people need to be alive to reach that paradise.

“If you keep reforming and reforming and the
people are suffering and dying, you may reach
the Promised Land alone because by that time
everyone has died. Of what use would that be?”

Sani, who criticised Buhari for not having an
independent economic team to drive the
economy out of recession, noted that the
goodwill the All Progressives Congress, APC,
enjoyed at the polls, which led to the
emergence of Buhari as president, was waning
fast.

This, he said, is in view of the increasing
number of open letters on the hardships being
suffered by Nigerians.

His words, “Let me tell you how it started, which is general with all persons who just took power in Nigeria. In 1979 and 1999, when a new president assumed office, he would have the support of all Nigerians. The first stage will be, ‘We support you; we stand by you and we are going to back you.’

“The second stage will be, ‘We are advising
you.’ The third stage will be, ‘We are cautioning
you.’ At the fourth stage, Nigerians will say, ‘We are warning you.’ The fifth stage will be, ‘We doubt you.’ The sixth stage, it will be, ‘You are incompetent.’ The seventh stage will be, ‘You should go.’

“When you study these stages, you will see that we have moved behind 100 per cent support to “advise.” And with letters flying and criticisms following, it is about “cautioning.” And I think the handwritings are on the wall for everybody to see.”

Crime / S*xual Abuse: How A 3-year-old R*pe Victim Bleed To Death In Lagos [photo] by gidiloaded(f): 4:53pm On Aug 14, 2016
Facebook user, Blessing Nwachukwu-Frank shared this heartbreaking story of her younger sister, Grace Chikere Nwosu who bled to death after she was r*ped by a 22-year-old man in their community in Mafoluku-Oshodi, Lagos state sometime in 1994.

According to Blessing, she decided to share the story for others to learn from it.

Read the heart-rendering story below:

“So many people have wondered who my immediate second sister was. Even friends never met her or saw a pic of her. When she passed away, my mom was so distraught that she burnt all pics and saved only this. Take a good look at this sweet and innocent face. Her name was Grace Chikere Nwosu and she was my sister.

I’m about to tell a story that hasn’t been told since 1994 not to gain sympathy but to advice and change lives. She never got to grow to leave a mark but I hope with this story, she does. I want her to be the face of children’s advocate cos she deserved at least that since her life was cut short at the age of 3 by a 22 year old man named Daniel whom I have never set my eyes on since 1994. This story is the reason I went into talk show- not for personal fame but hope that one I will be famous enough to get people to hear my story but I can’t keep waiting so if this will save lives, then so be it.

If you know from my stories, we grew up in the slum of Mafoluku, Oshodi. Then when I turned six, my sister was three and my mom went to the hospital to give birth to a third child. Despite being poor, we were a very loving family and my parents still made sure we attended private schools but starved and drank Garri like for real not a metaphor. My mom used to say, education will change our condition.

This story isn’t about me today so I will skip the details of my past. Perhaps someday I will have the courage to tell my own story. So my mom had this house help whose name was Chidinma, she also went to school but lived with us to take care of us after school hours. My mom was a kind soul who took her like her own but Chidinma was blinded by greed. So on that fateful period, my mom went to the hospital with my dad and aunt for some days, Chidinma sold my 3 year old sister for 150 naira to my neighbor, Daniel… I was 6 and had no clue why my sister wasn’t home. Little did I know that right in our face-me-I face you compound, Daniel RAPED my three year old sister till she bled. They returned her to our home to cover the act but my mom came home that day with my aunt and saw my sister bleeding and unable to move. My kid sister proceeded to give names then fell unconscious… Needless to say, she died after a week. She died on a Friday right in my mom’s arms and in my presence.

Politics / Jonathan To Avengers – Ex-president’s Kinsmen by gidiloaded(f): 11:25am On Aug 14, 2016
Youths from former President Goodluck Jonathan’s local government area of Ogbia in Bayelsa State has warned against linking Jonathan to the militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, adding that it was unthinkable for the former President to contemplate violence against anybody.
Rising from their meeting in Ogbia on Saturday, the youth wing of the famous Ogbia Brotherhood held that the former president loves the country so much, stressing that it was senseless and stupid to think that Jonathan who saved Nigeria from bloodshed by willingly handing over to the opposition would think of sponsoring a violent gang against the same country.

The National President, Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Wing, OBYW, Dr. Laguo Gilbert, insisted that Jonathan has no avenging traits, describing him as a man of peace and father of modern democracy in Africa.

According to Gilbert, “History has it that even from his youth, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been a humble peace-lover who values good and quality education. This is why with such great thoughts he was able to grow to this current political position not minding his background.

“Moreover, Dr. Jonathan’s political activities from deputy governor to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria were in line with his true thoughts and characters which anchor on of peace, integrity and drive for quality education. Truly, this has been demonstrated in last 2015 general election.

“This is why, the Ogbia Brotherhood youths wonder why detractors and enemies of progress would at this time come up with falsehood to intentionally deceive the public and discredit the former president,” he said.

Gilbert said while in various offices as a political leader, Jonathan recorded tremendous contributions towards nation building, and has remained consistent in that position as a former president.

He said: “Therefore, it is totally unreasonable for any group to intentionally drag this famous name to the mud. We the Ogbia Brotherhood Youths have discovered that the recent publication is not just senseless and baseless but also lacks merit and extremely unreasonable. It does not reflects the true character of Dr. Jonathan.

“We the Ogbia people are equally affected negatively by the activities of the militant groups in the Niger Delta just as every other Nigerian. We have been on the same page with other good Nigerians to finding lasting solutions to resolve this menace. Therefore, will not allow unreasonable utterances against the name of Dr. Jonathan.

Politics / Accountant General Lands In Big Trouble For Working With Ex-governor Ganduje by gidiloaded(f): 7:27am On Aug 09, 2016
Danjuma Adamu, Kano state accountant
general has been sacked by Governor
Ganduje for allegedly sabotaging all financial
payments to the state government.

According to Garba, Adamu is to hand over
the position to the Director of the Treasury
in the Ministry of Finance, Ibrahim A. M.
Kura, being the most senior.

Adamu was accused of spying on all
financial incomes of the Kano state
government and passing on this information
to the former governor Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso, who currently serves as a
senator.

Jibrin wades in
His alleged sabotage on the state finances
caused the delay in salary payments to the
state civil servants. This prompted the
directive from Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to
get him fired.

However, Ganduje thanked Adamu for the
services he rendered to the state and wished
him God’s guidance in his future endeavors.
NAIJ.com recalls that the State House of
Assembly in May 2016 passed a resolution
calling on the governor to sack the
Accountant General.

Governor Ganduje feud with Senator Rabiu
Musa Kwankwaso started after the former
accused the latter of encouraging and
promoting political thuggery in January.
Ganduje hinted that Senator Kwankwaso was
not on the same page with President
Muhammadu Buhari. His remarks came after
Senator Kwankwaso had led a group of party
supporters to condole with him over the
death of his mother.

During the visit, which was the first major
political outing of the senator, his supporters
were said to have continuously insulted the
bereaved governor and his cabinet members,
turning what ought to have been a sober
event into theatre of political conflict. They
were also said to have waved banners
supporting the senator to run for president
again in 2019.

Sports / Why I Won’t Talk To The Sun – Says Liverpool Coach Klopp by gidiloaded(f): 7:20am On Aug 09, 2016
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp says he will
no longer speak to reporters from The Sun
after the British tabloid carried an article
about the private life of defender Dejan
Lovren.

The tabloid published a detailed article
about how Croatia international Lovren
missed June’s European championships in
an attempt to save his marriage.

Klopp says he will no longer answer any
questions directly from The Sun reporters,
for an indefinite period, as Liverpool
prepare to start their Premier League
season at Arsenal this Sunday.

“I think that in life – no matter how much
of a public figure the person is – there are
things which should remain private,” said
Klopp after Liverpool were trashed 4-0 at
Mainz in a friendly on Sunday.
“Sometimes things must have
consequences.

“I thought to myself, there are eight million
newspapers, so what if I don’t speak to
some…”
Klopp’s stance against The Sun first came
to light on Saturday after Liverpool beat
Barcelona 4-0 at Wembley when he refused
to answer a reporter’s question.

“I don’t talk with The Sun anymore,” Klopp,
who took charge of Liverpool last October,
told the reporter in a press conference at
Wembley.
“It’s not personal. You’re still working for
The Sun , right? That’s it. You can listen
and you can write what you want.”

Klopp’s stance will go down well with Reds
fans in Liverpool, where the tabloid
remains unpopular because of its coverage
of the Hillsborough disaster in April 1989.

Sports / Man UTD Boss Jose Mourinho: I Substituted Mata Because He Was The 'smallest Play by gidiloaded(f): 7:02am On Aug 09, 2016
Substitute Juan Mata was replaced in
Manchester United's Community Shield win
"because he was the smallest player", boss
Jose Mourinho said. Mata, sold by Mourinho to
Unitedwhen at Chelsea, looked unhappy tobe
taken off 30 minutes after coming on in the
2-1 win over Leicester Cityat Wembley.

"I needed to take off the smallest player
because we were expecting alot of long balls,"
Mourinho said.

But BBC pundit Danny Murphy said the
decision was "embarrassing" for Mata.
"You don't do that unless you are trying to
send a message," ex-England midfielder
Murphy said.

"They have a lot of history at Chelsea and he
has embarrassed him in front of his supporters
and his family.

"He is basically saying to him you are not
important and he has done it publicly. I can't
see him still being at the club at the end of
August."

Midfielder Mata, who is 5ft 7in tall, was sent
on in the 63rd minute in place of goalscorer
Jesse Lingard, with the score 1-1.
He was replaced 10 minutes after Zlatan
Ibrahimovic's 83rd-minute winner by 5ft 10in
new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Mourinho put his arm around Mata when the
Spaniard came off three minutes before the
final whistle but the former Valencia player
looked unimpressed.

Politics / I’m Not Sponsoring Niger Delta Avengers,’ Says Governor Nyesom Wike by gidiloaded(f): 6:25am On Aug 09, 2016
The claim was made by a supposed faction of
NDA, Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA).
Wike made the denial via a statement released
by his media aide, Simeon Nwakandu .

The statement reads:
“Our attention has been drawn to yet another
false media propaganda wherein it was claimed
that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo
Wike is one of the sponsors of the militant
group, the Niger Delta Avengers.

We unequivocally deny this false report which
was fabricated with the aim of diverting
attention from the superlative performance of
Governor Wike. Any close observer of this
propaganda machine would have noticed that all
they do is concoct lies about Rivers State. We
urge all well-meaning persons to disregard this
current falsehood credited to a faceless splinter
group of NDA.

This falsehood may not be unconnected to
Governor Wike’s speech at the just-concluded
conference of the Nigerian Guild of Editors
where he publicly declared that he and other
stakeholders in the state have prevented
militant groups from sabotaging oil installations
as is the case elsewhere. Not happy with this
declaration, they resolved to concoct another ill-
conceived report trying to mislead the people.
Nigerians already know what these
propagandists represent. They represent
retrogression, deliberate falsehood, under-
development and biased unprofessional
journalism. Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is a
patriotic leader, committed to the sustenance
and improvement of the nation’s democracy and
economy. He is a promoter of security and good
governance. He cannot be disparaged by
concocted publications from APC media
agents.”

RNDA also claimed that NDA was being
sponsored by former president, Goodluck
Jonathan.

Politics / Peoples Democratic Party Chairmanship: Dokpesi Rejects Zoning, George Picks Form by gidiloaded(f): 8:57am On Aug 06, 2016
There are indications that fresh crisis is brewing in the peoples Democratic Party over the zoning of its national chairmanship position to the South-West.

Already, one of the serious contenders for the position from the South-South, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, has rejected the zoning arrangement and has picked the form to contest the office of the national chairman at the forthcoming national convention.

The convention holds in Port Harcourt on August 17.

Dokpesi, who was the first person to pay the mandatory N1m for the form, was represented by one of his sons at the party’s temporary national secretariat in Abuja.

The son, Raymond jnr., refused to speak with journalists after he paid and collected the form.

The leaders of the party from the southern part of the country met in Port Harcourt on Thursday where the decision to zone the office to the South-West was taken.

In the meeting attended by governors, National Assembly members and former ministers, the leaders of the part from the Southern Nigeria, also zoned the positions of National Treasurer and Deputy National Publicity Secretary to the South-West.

The party zoned the position of first Deputy National Chairman to the South-South. This zone also got the positions of National Legal Adviser, Deputy National Woman Leader and Deputy National Auditor.

The South-East got the the offices of the National Organising Secretary, National Youth Leader and Deputy National Financial Secretary.

Before the zoning, there were indications that two other persons from the South-South were eyeing the office of the national chairman. They are Prince Uche Secondus and Austin Okpara.

It is believed that the two men, who are from Rivers State, have agreed with the decision of the leaders of the party on the zoning and had jettisoned their ambition.

In furtherance of the zoning, a former Deputy National Chairman of the party from South-West, Chief Bode George had also picked form to run for the office of the national chairman.

George, after picking the form, promised to reposition and stabilise the party.

He said, “It takes and experience captain to stabilise a ship hit by tornado. And if you know the crisis in PDP, that is the position the party is facing right now.

“But I am happy that all is not lost, and the condition has been enhanced, zoning has gone extremely well. I have paid my dues in this party and I should not be afraid of anybody.

“Since 1999, I never left the party to anywhere. I met crises and problems. I have been able to resolve them. I have risen meritorious, from vice chairman South-West to deputy chairman (South) and deputy chairman overall. I have been able to resolve problems.

“If people vote for me, I look forward to stabilise the party and put it in right position. The ruling party should get ready for serious engagement because we have started a cohesive battle ahead 2019.”

He promised to bring back those who defected from the party to the All Progressives Congress, where he said they remain as tenants.

Politics / Herdsmen/farmers Clash: I Won’t Tolerate Acts Of Criminality- Buhari by gidiloaded(f): 7:18am On Aug 06, 2016
Following the incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers across the federation, President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his administration would not tolerate any acts of banditry and criminality.

He said that the security agencies in the country had been mandated to adequately deal with such act as it was capable of truncating the peace of the country.

It will be recalled that there had been frequent clashes between fulani herdsmen and farmers in many States particularly in Benue, Enugu, Adamawa, Ekiti which claimed several lives. There had been a growing impression in some quarters that President Buhari had not come all out to condemn the herdsmen and find lasting solution to the problem despite ordering the security apparatus of the country to quell the clashes which they always fail to do.

But speaking yesterday at the graduation ceremony of the National Defence College, NDC, for Course 24 in Abuja, the president said his government was out to deal decisively with the matter.

He also said that steps were being taken to rebuild the insurgency ravaged north east and tackle the emerging issues of restiveness and bombing of oil installations in the Niger Delta.

He said:
“On the matter of Herdsmen/Farmers clashes, I wish to state that this Administration will not tolerate or condone acts of banditry and criminality, under any guise.

As such, our security agencies have been mandated to deal with such acts decisively. “Let me state that this Administration has been working assiduously in conjunction with our local and international partners, to rebuild damaged communities in North East part of our country.
Similarly, we are committed to tackling the issues of underdevelopment and neglect in the Niger Delta area

This is a priority we have set before us and we intend to make appreciable gains in correcting the ills of the past in the Niger Delta by assuaging inherent grievances.”

The president also reiterated his pact with Nigerian upon his assumption of office, saying he was still committed to securing the country, improving the economy and fighting corruption. To this end, the president said his administration had recover billions of Naira from individuals and organizations.

“You will all recall that on being sworn into office on 29 May 2015, I outlined certain core areas of our national life that require immediate intervention, some of which I would like to reiterate here today. First, we should seek to secure the country, improve the economy and fight corruption. As it is, this is our unfinished business from the past and dates back to the creation of our republic, yet to this day, corruption and poverty remain our main national problems.’’
