Tnx man, no gre or gmat or toefl?

Whats your intended course of study. You seem not to make out anything from the epistle I posted. When you decide the school you wana apply to. Check out their requirement for your course. Most times, it is safer to mail the program coordinator. I go as far as calling them on phone atimes. Most Canadian schools exempt Nigeria from English test like TOEFL or ielts. For the other exams please mail ur intended dept to find out. Cheers.

Hello everyone,, need some help. What are the necessary steps one needs to take to study in Canada. Planning for either the USA or Canada. Know quite a handful about the US process but dunno zilch about the requirements for canada. Please can anyone give me a brief summary? Thanks in anticipation.
According to Mevisbleek a one time guru on this thread these are the things you need to do:
Step 1: go to Google and type in the school you are interested in attending. If you don't have a school in mind then u Google, schools in Canada offering ur intended course blablabal (ur desired field)

Step 2: go to the school site and look up the the program length and admission requirement. Taking into consideration the application deadline.

Step 3: gather ur application docs, like transcript and all those stuff then go back to the site and apply, then pay the application fee with ur naija Mastercard.

Step 5: sit down and wait for the school to process ur application. If u are given admission then jump to step 6. If you are denied (god forbid) you apply to other schools that their program tickle your fancy.

Step 6: come back to this forum after you get admission and we shall all help you will documents for visa and stuff.

Hope this helps

Documents I sent to Canada since 29th of January never still reach. Sent via Nipost office at the airport. Called Nipost office, they asked that I send them the tracking No and date of posting which I texted buh didn't get any reply till now. Today makes it exactly 15 working days while I was told it will arrive BTW 7 to 10 working days. Whats really wrong. Is it still cos of the weather thingy? The parcel was sent to Brandon in Manitoba, Canada. Anybody has sthh to say? Checked Nipost website, item arrives and inserted in bag, checked Canada post and it says item not registered on their website.

You can do it but you need a well built case. Why PGD? If you can answer the question convincingly, then you are good to go.
I have a case slightly close to his, I have a masters degree but already applied for another masters degree in the same field but another area of specialization. What do you think about my own situation. Do you tink its a red flag? House please help on. Thanks.

Why not call or mail the school's financial and registration services unit, that's the dept of unit of the sch that oversees payment of any sort. Or Better still call ur prog coordinator, s/he cud assist further. All the best.

I wish all The members of this thread happy Valentine celebration. It's a time of showing love and not for making love. Let's try and show love to one another on this platform. Always try to tackle issues raised and not getting personal with one another especially when you have a different opinion from theirs. By doing this we see that others will benefit from our wealth of knowledge and learn from our contributions. I tracked ur item and this were what I saw. So obviously your mail is in Canada. I remember that one professor in Canada told me it takes when mail gets to Canada, it takes like another one week to reach the part of Canada where she resides. So like I said earlier, you could mail the receiver to confirm.

Bro first of all, wat part of the country did you send from? I had a similar case like yours. I sent out mails to two different provinces in Canada. They were sent out to Canada on 24th of Dec one got there on the 15th of January while the other got there on the 18th. The funny thing is thta I kept tracking it online but it kept showing item received and inserted in bag. So you may need to confirm from the person you sent the parcel to or better still call Nipost office. 08028469631 to ask them. Though you have to be patient cos it takes them awhile to pick up. Good luck.

OK, so today I was at the Nipost office at Nacho Aviance complex to mail my parcel to Canada. Registered mail it is. I was charged the sum of three thousand two hundred naira. The Nipost Staff said it would take between 7 to 10 working days to arrive Canada. So maybe I will start counting from Monday so that by upper Friday it should be there, that is roughly 2weeks. I hope it arrives earlier though.

You will be alerted (via call or SMS) whenever you have mail at Nipost. So make sure your phone number is accurate and the line is active.

The letter will be sent to the post office nearest the residential address filled on your letter.

Many thanks.

One more thing again please. Its likely the schools might be sending me some hard documents. The challenge now is that I used my residential address but a friend said Nipost will not deliver the letter to my doorstep that it would have been safer to use a P.O box number which I don't have. How do I go about this, I am ready to go to Nipost to pick the documents myself but how do I know the branch to go to find the documents? Please assist me.

Since you're coming from Yaba, no need coming all the way down to Ikeja.
You can post it at G.P.O Shomolu. I also post letters there especially to the U.K. They move mail before 12 noon every day, so try to get there early.
It is located at shipeolu street.
You can take a bus going to maryland or ikeja. They all pass through Ikorodu road.
Drop at Onikpan bus stop.
When you drop, look for Zenith bank.
There is a short street beside the bank, enter it, at the end of the street, you will burst into Shipeolu street. On the other side of the street is General Post Office Shomolu.
You can't miss it.
Good luck!

Thanks indeed. Onipanu is actually one of my bus stops buh I haven't noticed the post office buh I will try to check it out.
Thanks again.

Wow! That's great news! I knew your letters would be delivered, it was just a matter of time. smiley
I suggest you send it through G.P.O. Ikeja. That's where I post all my parcels and they always reach the destination on time.

It depends on how much time you have to spare.
I like to keep track of all my postage. I suggest you register it so you can track it every step of the way.

Good luck!
Please how do I get there from Yaba or let's just say from Ikeja under bridge?

MrsNaira:
N400 to post to Canada? I don't think it was registered.
I posted a letter from G.P.O Ikeja to Japan through registered mail and I paid about N1,600. It got there in 10 days.

Is your University located outside Lagos?

Please, I don't mean to discourage you but it is only unregistered letters that stop tracking after they leave Nigeria.
Usually, if it was registered, it will show tracking progress on Canada Post website or any international post tracking website.

Since you said the tracking showed up on Nipost website then no wahala.
It will get there but you have to give it more time.

Give it about 2 more weeks or a month and contact the school again.

Sorry for this , just commit it to God, He will see you through.

Thanks for taking out time to reply me. The two schools in Canada has confirmed to me that they received the transcript. My school is University of Lagos. Now I am planning to send another package to Canada by next week, is it better I use the post office in Unilag or to go to Nacho at the airport. Which method will enable my parcel arrive on time? Registered or non-registerd.
Many thanks.

Did you register the parcel before posting it?

This was actually posted by my university. its my transcript. So they just asked me to go to the post office to get the tracking No. Dont know if it was registered. but i payed #400 naira for the postage. How do i know if it was registered. iv also checked on www.canadapost.ca and it says "we were not able to find any results". i mailed the two schools that the result were being sent to last week friday and they said they havent got anything.

Track it with this website:

www.trackitonline.ru

Good luck!
I used the site like you directed, it showed that it was sent abroad on the 24th of december but this was what I saw again
"Sorry, requested item not registered in postal database yet. If your item was sent less than 2 days ago, it may not appear in the database. Please check later."

Find someone you can use his/her card for online transaction and you pay the equivalent back
Thanks. I'm already making arrangement for that but I hope it's not as a result of the CBN policy on debit cards which is also affecting Nigerians abroad. Otherwise I will return back to square one. Lolz. Thanks anyway.

Just saw my result but not too impressed with it. I sat for the academic module on the 31st of October in Lagos
Listening: 6.5
Reading; 5.0
Writing: 7.0
Speaking 7.0
Total band-score; 6.5

Although 6.5 is the score the school im applying to requires buh I feel bad about my reading and wished i scored higher in the overall band score at least above the least requirement. But i still thank god in all things. Wish the intending test takers all the best.
