Doc,

God has done it again! She just delivered less than 2 hours ago! A bouncing baby girl. The baby was tied by a cord, so she had to be delivered through C/S. Baby and mother are doing very fine!

I will keep you updated. There was no bleeding!, although we made arrangement for blood, just in case.
Health / Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by go4gold107(m): 9:01pm On Apr 03, 2009
Dear doc,

She has been admitted into the hospital for a "bed rest". Although she is still leaking water a bit, she has been given some antibiotics and Vitamin K to prepare for the "risk of bleeding" as you said.  Currently, the doctor said he gave her a steroid to strengthen the lungs of the baby in the event of pre-term delivery.  The doc is a bit reluctant to induce labor saying that he needs to buy more time in the interest of the baby.

Please kindly advice professionally what you would do in this kind of issue.  I have already told the doctor I have an Ob who advices me and I forward all your advice to him.

Many thanks and God's Blessings shall never depart you.

Dear doc,

We went for another scan today and we saw what looked like 2 bubbles in the stomach area of the baby. The doctor suggested it was due to "mild duodenal blockage" and said nothing canbe done till the baby is born. She is beginning to feel a little amount of fluid leaving her body although the water has not yet broken, so the doctor suggested she has bed rest.

Also, the radiologist put her amniotic fluid index at 16. Doc, I dont know what these complications are all about. Are the bubbles seen in the tummy the "gastric bubbles" you asked me to confirm the other time? Will the baby be ok? And do you suspect the baby has any form of physical or any other type of anomaly.

Many thanks for the free advice doc. God will continue to reward you for me.

Many thanks doc,

Please can you give the reason for the increased risk of bleeding? Big baby size? Polyhrdramnious? Placenta? or what plz? And what CAN be humanly done to prevent or mitigate the bleeding? What do I possibily tell the doctor to prepare for. She is O+, AA Genotype. How do we start preparing for the early delivery and will the baby be ok?

I know I have asked many questions but I know I asked the right person to help me. Many thanks doc. God will definitely open many more doors of success for you.

Thx doc for the advice,

She has seen her doc and he says she should not travel by air since she is over 28 weeks.  He recommended travelling by road and that seems to be the only option.

However, coming to the Polyhydramnious condition I told you earlier, he advised she continued with the indometacin capsules.  I am not comfortable with taking the tablets much longer because everything I read about the drug is not so encouraging.  Please what do you suggest?

Many thanks again.

New development doc:

She just went for another scan and I will give you both results for a FULL analysis please:

Dear Doc,

Thanks for all the advice. I have noticed she is having swollen feet and she is currently 32 weeks pregnant. Is there a solution for it?

I intend to travel with her on a 1 hour 15 mins flight in the next 2 weeks (34 weeks since LMP). I want to know if the change of cabin pressure during ascent and descent will be good for her and the baby which is surrounded by aminiotic fluid?

She is still however taking the indocimetacin 25mg, 3 times daily given to her by her doc, although she is scheduled to visit the doctor in the next 2 days (Thursday).

How I wish you were our family doc. May God continue to increase you wisdom and wishes.

Thx again

Thanks doc.

He prescribed the drugs as 3 times daily for the next 2 weeks. Although she has started using the capsules, I pray everything is fine. Is there any other way you feel we can go around this. Almost everyday now, she complains of headache. Can she combine the Indocid with Paracetamol tablets?

Thanks again

Doc,

Thanks so much for the advice the other days.  However, my wife (31 weeks pregnant now) has gone back to her doctor after two weeks of the scan results I gave to you the other time.  He gave her some 25mg INDOCID capsules to be taken 3 times daily.  I have really googled Indocid but it seems not to be recommended for pregnant women in third trimester and I am beginning to be afraid something is wrong. What do you suggest?  The doctor says the capsules are to reduce the amniotic fluid in the womb but I am afraid it might not be too good for the baby.

What recommendations can you give to me? Is there any other drug that can be used? Do you think the baby is ok?

I will appreciate our professional advice again.

Many thanks and may God continue to increase your wisdom.

If u are wondering who I am, I was the chairman of the yrbook committee then.  Although it was a long time ago. (lol)

Hi doc,

My wife went for an independent sonograph today and I have these results and concerns;

biparietal dameter - 75mm
head circumference - 268mm
abdominal circumference - 245mm
femur length - 58mm
USS gestational age - 29 weeks, 3 days plus or minus 2 weeks
fetal presentation - breech
present fetal weight - 1.370 kg
AMNIOTIC FLUID - EXCESSIVE
maturity- Grade II
likely gender - XX
cervix - closed

Pls doc, my real concern and confusion is on the excessive amniotic fluid. Pls, I need ur professional advice here. What causes the excessive fluid? what dangers does it pose? I am really scared. How can the issue be resolved? Is there cause for alarm? What do I do pls?

Also explain what the maturity means to me and the closed cervix.

Expecting your professional advice as usually and many thanks again doc.

Doc,

My wife is 27 weeks since LMP and I want to find out if nipple stimulation can induce labour. I want to also find out if orgasm is ok. I am becoming very careful with her and I want the best for her as she is approaching full term. What meals will u suggest for her too. I know fruits and vegetables are good but I will want your professional advice.

Regards and many thanks doc.

Dr Kat,

My wife is 25 weeks now and she is planning to travel by road for an 8 hour trip. Although I have tried to dissuade her from that, she still insists that she will be alright. Please, I will need your professional advice on this.

We also noticed that her skin is becoming so light and tender. Is this normal and is there anything that can be done? Pepper as a spice is ok, but she is beginning to like too much of it. I dont know if it is the pregnancy thing that is causing it but is too much of it harmful to the baby?

Many thanks again doc for the good u've been doing.

Cheers!

Thx so much marami.

This is one of the most useful advice I have gotten this year. I have never thought of the option of No 2 hospital. I am always busy, but was able to make out time today to visit the hospital. The doctor on duty was friendly. I think the hospital is good.

Can you please help me with a good hospital to use as 2nd option. Maybe the one you use,

Many thx

@ jassie

I wonder how u classify the thread as "idiotic" if you are not an idiot yourself. Someone is asking the house to help by saying what they know about a hospital. It is a simple question of which if you don't have the answer, you keep silent. If you check, you are not the only one that has viewed the topic before.

Sorry I classified you as an "idiot" because the many that viewed the topic mght not have the answer to the question and kept silent, rather u, in a bid to increase your number of posts made an "idiotic" reply.
