Religion / The Essence Of God 's Consent And Christlike Patience by Godfreytimesblo(m): 3:26pm On Dec 18, 2016 |
Many underestimate the need to seek God 's consent before getting into anything or start something but are quick to running to him when they hit the wall. Everything started with God so there is a great need to seek His consent in whatever we want to get into. Seeking his consent gives you the rare privilege of his permission and that guarantees his backing on that which you seek his consent for . Moses the only man who saw half of God, had his 'backing ' with him at all times but the absence of Christlike patience presented him from entering the promise land —many of us see our blessings, others are on the path to it but our anger and other negative attitude prevents us from them. Christlike patience helps you to deal with the negativity in you, it subdues the brewing of anger. Orpah Naomi 's second daughter in-law left because of the absence of Christlike patience in her life but Ruth having it, helped her deal with her Mother in-law' s bitterness and claved to her even when she insistently told her to go. Today Ruth has a chapter in the Spiritual book —Bible because of her rarely immense dedication to her husband, even in 'death'. How many women 's dedication to their husband "as he is alive" today can be likened to Ruth' s? God 's consent reminds his permission that causes his backing to make a way when there is no way in that which you seek him for before getting into it like he did for Moses when he parted the Red Sea. In addition, his consent connects you with the knowledge of the Holy. Having a 'Christlike patience' and 'God' s consent' brings to fruition the existence of peace come what may. It sustains what God says should be and causes one to do the impossible, like it caused Ruth. Having God 's consent and the existence of Christlike patience makes ' His Love ' to hold on to you —love for us surpasses greatly our love for those in love with us let alone our love for him. To succeed in loving or being loved, you need his grace because he is not only the 'true origin' of love, He is Love. Everything except evil is tolerable with a Christlike patience but we use 'prayers' to deal with evil. By Godfrey Times |
Fashion / Chukwuma Ifeoma :slays It Elegantly Always by Godfreytimesblo(m): 3:17pm On Nov 20, 2016 |
The enablement of taking pictures of ourselves and displaying it on our respective social media platforms has put to light the realisation that being unknown does not give us the right to neglect or deprive ourselves of a life needful to our appearance, and gives our personality a great liking for one alternative over another or others —Style in itself is life, one without it has no spark in his or her appearance. Like life, it has growth and stages but most of all, like love life it has a partner —fitness. Style and fitness are equal partners but they need a uniquely complete body to be complete and Miss Ifeoma without doubt has 'the perfect body' — and evidently she knows what works for her body soothingly. "Everyone has his or her own style but without fitness it is not wholly accepted... Because they are vital for each other and come out right together ". Miss Ifeoma said " Knowing what works for you is 'key' and it is helpful when pushing your borders of thoughts in the process of dressing up". she added. They say your level of taste for style speaks from your Choice of it and she is well above having an appreciable degree of not just having it but making good use of it as well. By Godfrey Times

Business / IMF /fitch Affirms Nigeria 's Promising Prospect by Godfreytimesblo(m): 7:12am On Oct 22, 2016 |
In 2001, Jim O'Niell coined the term BRIC, an association of four emerging economic giants :Brazil, Russia, India, China. The induction of South Africa in 2010, which made it BRICS. This was a surprise to Mr. O'Niell who said in a statement, South Africa 's economy was a quarter of the size of Russia' s (the least economically powerful BRIC nation). He believed the potential was there but did not anticipate inclusion of South Africa at that stage. Sources in the know said that inclusion was politically astute given China 's attempt to establish a foothold in Africa. The inclusion translated to greater South African support China in global fora. Having coined the BRIC he went further to popularize the acronym MINT — referring to the economies of Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Turkey. This was originally coined by Fidelity Investment, a Boston - based asset management firm. He presented them as new potential Investment destination. They all have very favourable demographics for at least the next 20 years, and their economic prospects are interesting. Amongst the MINT countries Nigeria is the most. O'Niell said. In the list of Economies by Incremental Nominal GDP from 2006 to 2020, Nigeria was ranked 18th out of the 22 countries listed and South Africa absent. Only Egypt was the second African country on that list. In the list of Economies by Incremental Nominal GDP from 2020 to 2035,Nigeria is ranked 12th out of the 22 countries listed and South Africa still absent. In the list of Economies by Incremental Nominal GDP from 2035 to 2050, Nigeria is ranked 7th out of 22 countries listed, with Egypt ranked 12th, and South Africa still not mentioned. Sometime in August when it was rumored that South Africa has over thrown Nigeria and now the biggest economy of the continent, Aliko Dangote in a statement, he doesn't accept the figures presented to that fact and Nigeria will keep up with her focus despite that untrue replacement. In proving him right, and affirming Jim O'Niell 's listing of Nigeria as a new potential Investment destination in his acronym "MINT", despite the country’s economic recession, IMF /Fitch declares Nigeria as Africa' s largest economy. In his documentary of the "MINT" in 2013 for the BBC, O'Niell pointed out that the light that 1.5m londoners are using, is what almost 170 million people are sharing. And they have an economic growth of 7%, what if they have the power. With zero power we are Africa 's largest economy, its a joke, Aliko Dangote said in the documentary. 1 Share

Music/Radio / Alhaji Techno's Song 'pana'.. An African Feeling Of Love by Godfreytimesblo(m): 7:28am On Oct 17, 2016 |
A beautiful song gives a beautiful feeling, a love song gives a loving feeling and a loving feeling causes one to think of love. And thinking of love makes you think of the one you love or would love to love, even those you see in love and their being in love encourages you. This song is one to certainly give you that reason to think of love. With the flow of the beat and lyrics going together as equal partners like music and love, you cannot help but think of the one you love as you hear it playing. "Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah told Godfreytimes I love what is African and I crave African love — this song gives me that needed feeling /thoughts of an African love—the sound of the instrumentals, the lyrics and the way he sings like in the beginning "folake gimme love oo" — we Ghanaians have special love for Nigerian music and this song making you think of love, an African feeling of love is one of the reasons why we have that special love. " Nigerian music like Nollywood has played largely its role in being a contributory factor to the growth of our Entertainment industry. Like banks of Nigeria in every African State, so is our music being played in every country in Africa and beyond. ' For your sake I go go church oo, we go drive around for my porsh oo' I love that line —love the song so much because it makes me think greatly of love whenever I listen to it —Genevieve Nnaji said. Nigeria is a great country because virtually every Nigerian is a great being, only a great man looks at 'the interest of peace ' come what may and not his interest. Only in the heart of love you will find the interest of peace, and this beautiful song that makes you think of love is from a great Nigerian with the heart of love. I thought greatly of Yvonne Nelson like never before when I first heard this song... Couldn't help thinking of loving her even more. — John Dumelo said Music is one of the things greatly seen as food to the Soul. By Godfreytimes

Celebrities / Rabiatu Oyarese - Ailakhu : A Woman Who Lived The Meaning Of A Mother by Godfreytimesblo(m): 11:15pm On Oct 14, 2016 |
The psalmist depicts deepest grief as that of one who mourneth for his mother (psalm 35:14). In the entire book of proverbs the duty of reverence, love and obedience of sons to their mothers is unceasingly inculcated. The greatest comfort imaginable is that wherewith a mother comforts a child. Maa Maa as we called her, was a Protector, disciplinarian and friend. She was a selfless, loving human who sacrificed many of her wants and needs for the wants and needs of her children. With hard work she ensured her children are equipped with knowledge, skills and abilities to make it as a competent human beings. Knowing that being a mother is perhaps the hardest, most rewarding job a woman will ever experience, she egged on taking every challenge as a step to a higher dimension in life. It is the wisdom God used to create heaven and earth is what he gave man and that wisdom will only work in you in righteousness - with the help of her righteousness, she used that wisdom to self-empower herself and converted challenges to Progressive efforts which helped her achieve an appreciable level of Education - her one great goal for her children. As we well know, education is a key in life but she consistently stressed that owuen ne se meaning good attitude is the tool that empowers that key. She is survived by two daughters (twins) and five grand children. "Her ways of doing things in the interest of peace is far too rare to cheapen with heavy handed words" - Mrs Omoh Isegen (her daughter) told Godfreytimes. Likened to a hebrew woman whom the love of offspring was imbedded in her heart, she is a contributory factor to motherhood being highly respected. She will always say: nothing on earth should separate you two, because your oneness will cause the spirit of a blessing to fight for you knowingly or unknowingly - Mrs Odion Lawani (her daughter) said. Today the presence of God dwells in their midst because of their unity. Just as the meaning of being a mother is virtually endless, so is the memory of the life she lived - Endless. Romance / Erstwhile Dr Asabe Sweets Momoh Is Now Dr Mrs Isa Williams by Godfreytimesblo(m): 7:54pm On Aug 11, 2016 |
Nigeria, Edo State –God as we well know, created heaven and earth alone but man his image he created collectively. When God wanted to create man he said: “Let us” that’s why we too need to say Let us because we are about to create his image. Dr Zekeri Isa Williams has followed through with God in saying to Dr Asabe Momoh “Let us”. The will of God is Ultimate so it is of great essence we let it prevail. And this couple is an example of that which is “Ultimate”. The prevailing of that which is his will is never understood by anyone except those involved. So if you wonder how this union came about, know that God’s ways are passed finding. “Our relationship progressed to this day as it should because we did seek God’s consent” –Dr Isa Williams said. “When you seek God’s permission before you get into anything in life, you exercise, regard & revered fear which pleases him.” He added. Wedding day gives you a once in a lifetime good feeling because it’s a day two people become one under God and as it’s clearly evident, a start of married life. Ending up with who you are meant to be with is an encouraging feeling of happiness to marriage.

Politics / A Winning Nigeria Is A Winning Democracy Unless Hindering Factors Stand Out In by Godfreytimesblo(m): 4:33am On Jul 16, 2016 |
LAGOS –Tempers are high in every part of the country, the economy is in a bleeding state, the war against corruption is distracting the way forward, and the Niger Delta Avengers(NDA) are largely now a contributing factor to the crisis in the country. Let’s not forget the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram and the crier of independence –IPOB. This is certainly not the change we voted for. We do understand change comes gradually and not overnight but there have to be a room for that gradual change to come and that is not visible in this present government. There are two factors hindering Nigeria’s democracy and they are the “youths and the clerics of this Nation. Until the youths of this nation stand out honestly in truth and not in controlled policy of violence by some you-know-who, we are heading nowhere. Crisis in Nigeria can never change unless the day the youths stand their ground. The Democracy in Nigeria can never stand until that day. Until the day the youths position their selves “selflessly”. Where do you have people like Dele Giwa again in this country? Where do you have people like Saro Wiwa again in this country? That will say I hold on to this to this, you are a sinner I cannot move over it. Where are they? I could remember the first election between oshiomole and Osubor in Edo State, after the election I called a boy and asked him, how was the election? He replied: it’s rigging everywhere oo…they even paid me 15,000 naira so I had to rig it for PDP. You know what I told him? I told him they just bought your future. By the time you finish you will not get a job. If you as a copper were given just 15,000 naira, you were bought with just that amount; you did not care about the future of your state, children, and yours. Then why are we blaming the leaders of the country? Until we go back to the grassroots and tell the purported leaders of this country you cannot buy me over. And in all, the day Nigeria decides to do its campaign like America: if you are caught spending money on people because of election they nullify you. But the politicians we have today are the millionaires who have the money to throw around. Imagine in Edo state now, for you to be eligible to contest for governorship election, you have to pay 16 million naira to buy the ticket. How much is the salary of a governor? If only to buy the ticket cost that much, how much is he going to spend on his campaign? All this money bounces back to the perishing of the state. Where are we heading to? Unless this mentality is removed, unless we enact that law there can never be peace/joy. You see people campaigning with money, saying you take fifty, you take twenty, you take sixty million naira and then you find a child raising cutlass against the father and mother a knife for the daughter. Do you know some people during campaign when you ask them; you are campaigning for Mohammed why are you campaigning for him? They will tell you I know he will fail but he is the one that paid for my vote. We youth are selling our tomorrow. As much as we are selling our tomorrow, we should not expect a better tomorrow. We cannot eat our cake and have it. We cannot keep on selling our tomorrow and be expecting a better one NO! It is how we lay our bed we will lie on it. Let us have that cry today not cry in violence but cry! Bible says cry in the night and joy cometh in the morning. That cry of perseverance to say let me suffer it today. Let me say no to this today so that there will be better tomorrow. Nelson Mandela was there for his country. Stood and fought but not with violence. Where is the Nelson Mandela of Nigeria? Who are those that can help like Esther in the bible? That said “if I will die for the sake of Israel let me die. If I will live let me live”. She did not do it with violence; she did it with prayers and supplication. After the youths, the clerics of Nigeria both in the Muslim and Christian are selling our tomorrow. Tell me the cleric that has ever stood up against what is not in this country outside the kick against what has to do with their religious fight? Which cleric stood and say: Mr. President you are wrong. Where is this supposed to be? Why is there this? Here the clerics stand up today because the government is favoring him/her. As long as they continue to support the government they will never see anything wrong with that government. Clerics are the most liable of killing the youths, they are not positioning them today, and they are using the youths to satisfy their interest. In so doing, they preach what is not and the youths begin to put them into practice. The existence of these two factors will not let there be democracy. Democracy in Nigeria is not in the hands of our leaders…it’s in the hands of the youths! |

Music/Radio / Music And Language by Godfreytimesblo(m): 3:11pm On May 13, 2016 |
Marriage is one thing that brings not just two people together but families and sometimes it goes beyond that and get to bringing tribes together or states even countries. In times of UEFA champions league it brings people together but still in a divisive way, world cup does its own part yet divisive with different countries. Music is another interestingly big thing that brings people together and language has played its role largely. Recently coca-cola mash-up of Nigeria artist with Kenyan artists was one interesting example of music bringing not just two countries but two sub-regions together and language surely played its part. Besides that, apart from the investment of Nigerian banks in sister African states which has foster the relationships of both countries, music has foster the relationship of countries like Ghana with Nigeria, south Africa with Nigeria, America with Nigeria and many other countries. When you hear songs like Angelique Kidjo featuring Omawunmi or Yemi Alade featuring Sarkodie then Flavour with Sarkodie and the duets goes on like that. You hear languages coming together as a song and sounding so good, it makes music interest one excitingly.Listening to these songs, I hear barriers being broken and two nations bringing their languages together singing as one. A Nigerian is africa’s biggest pop star in Asia, Emmanuel Uwechue a Mandopop singer, found not just Stardom with a language regarded as strangest on earth by those who are not in the know, but also love with the use of music and language together. Music and language are two big tools to peace, unity, and love on earth and are very helpful to carrying each other. |

Nigerian music has grown to be a must played in every country in the world, and dominates the playlist of every party in Africa. During my stay in Ghana I was with other foreigners from fancophone Countries, and being with them gave me the privilege of seeing how well they appreciate and love Nigerian music. They expressed their love for our music to me and how they are entertained by our dance to but in their expression of love and appreciation they stressed deeply how greatly they appreciate Nigerian musicians. But there is one musician who rings fondly in their mind because of her use of French in her songs. Yemi Alade has cut through hearts of every French colonized country with her music. It has educated them on the feelings of love, encouragement to the challenges of life et al. singing in French broke boundaries to her music and greatness across the continent and beyond, personally, I am very much more than impressed by her music. She has great vocal skills and knows how to use it well!!! She is one rare contributory to the growth of Nigerian music and I am greatly delighted about it . there is something about her voice when you hear it and you just stop whatever you are doing and listen to her –Aisseta Ouedraogo. Is a Burkinababe who is a strong fan of P.Square told me this while we were having some ice cream at the Accra Mall in Ghana. As a Nigerian you will appreciate being a citizen when you are in another African country and you don’t just hear how our music is being played at any given time but you see how people get enlivened by it in an awesome way . Yemi as we well know, is an afropop singer. Known for her hit song "Johnny" That became an international smash hit as it dominated music charts in Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, and with the help of the French version of the song, was most heard in: Burkinafaso, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Mali, Guinea Conakry, Congo and the rest of the francophone countries. Referred to as a "Yoruba-Igbo girl" since her father, James Alade, is of Yoruba origin, while her mother, Helen Uzoma, is of Igbo origin. came into stardom after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, thereafter its been progress like never before in her life with doing what she loves and knows how to do so well. She has performed around the world, shared and sang on stage with Big names in the music world. Yemi has also featured on many cover magazines and in addition, been a judge on some music talent shows. her album scheduled to be released this march 2016, her fans wait eagerly for it. |

In life it is very important for one to know what he/she wants, but what God wants for us in life supersedes ours by far. If what you want in life is what God wants for you, then you are very much good to go.Emmanuel knew what he wanted and very lucky for him it was what God wanted. He went all out going after it, not minding what anyone thinks of how he is going about it. With the strength of knowing what you want egging him on, he went on progressively from one stage to another in life. Stagnancy was non existence in his life and that is as a result of having God’s backing. The red sea parted for the Israelites because they had that divine backing. Abraham moved when God told him to and he did that not knowing where he was going and that is obedience like never before. Emmanuel moved to a strange land just as Abraham did, not knowing what was slated for him by God. In putting God first and having to pay his tithe, God established him with the spirit of a blessing. And that spirit breaks the laws of science like it did for Sarah, it suspends the laws of nature like it did for Elijah. The use of Chinese language as a tool to his greatness, is the spirit of a blessing working in the life of Emmanuel. When the spirit of a blessing is present in a man’s life hard things become simple. Playing in the Big Easy Bar in Beijing , with the spirit of a blessing making things simple for him, Liu Huang a well known music producer discovered him . And seeing that greatness in him , Liu encouraged Emmanuel to learn the mandarin Chinese. As a result of using pinyin to learn mandarin he is well above fluent in mandarin Chinese now . He shot himself into limelight when he sang with Han Hong in the 2007 New Year Gala and it was greatness like never before since then .Everyone has his place or land of greatness just as we all have our own God’s appointed time for change .china the middle country , was Emmanuel A.K.A Hao Ge ’s Land of greatness. In the days, humanity spoke a single language and agreed to build a city and tower . In seeing this God confounded their speech so that they could no longer understand each other and scatter them around the world . Confounding of that speech is the barrier we have in languages today .Language was the tool to the achievement of his greatness and Liu encouraging him to learn mandarin Chinese , was God using Liu to speak to him . And this tells us that God can speak to us through anyone . Emmanuel broke the barrier to his greatness when he learnt and understood the mandarin Chinese . God caused division in humanity with language by making us to speak differently and that division is a barrier working till date . His use of Chinese language to get to his greatness was an eye-opener for me ,it made me realize the power in language . He saw an opportunity and broke the barrier to that opportunity by learning to speak , read and write what is seen by those who are not in the know , as the weirdest language on earth . I tell you today , the minute you can speak and understand another language , you have broken a barrier in your life . I got my sheer feeling of the power of language when I spoke briefly in Ghana‘s official local language (twi) , from that moment things were easily achievable for me . There is power in a language and that power breaks not only barriers , it moves you into opportunities of greatness . But we must use it politely with love and respect just as Hao Ge is doing today. Emmanuel is one with trans-generational blessing and that is not just having a car or a house. It is a grace that is carried and has no limits in greatness. Is a grace that is passed on; it’s got to be better from one generation to another and so is how Hao Ge’s greatness is getting better And it is in that grace he is raising high the flag of Nigeria. We really do need more of his kind , Really a positive positioning of the Nigerian brand. |
